    Thank you for helping me understand how often you put the money away. 😅 I think I might start with the higher numbered envelopes & work my way down. This will definitely help me cut down my food takeout cost ❤

    In my 100 envelope challenge I actually put more money in it (for example 1-10 I put 10 each, 10-20 I put $15 to 15 and then $20 from 16-20. That way it is exciting how much I actually have because it will be more.

    Since I don’t run to the bank very often, I’ve decided to do an electronic version of the 100 envelope challenge. I do this by simply doing an electronic transfer from one of my accounts to my high yield savings account. This keeps me from being temped to dip into the cash.

    Thank you so much for the suggestion to do this electronically. I have a binder but I really wasn't comfortable with the idea of keeping that much cash on hand. So instead I am going to open another HYSA specifically for this challenge but I'll still fill in the physical envelopes in my binder with something so I can see my progress. Then I'll just transfer everything to my main HYSA and start again. 😊

      Yes that’s another great way to do this! But you would have to invest in all that prop money so I would say the best way to do this without having to use real money is to just use a tracker to keep track of your progress. And then you can take advantage of earning interest

    Ok so I am starting this soon BUT with a twist, so because I’m paid monthly (in the UK) I’ll be doing 100 days of saving rather than saving it in 100 days being 3 and a bit months because monthly I still have my bills to pull out of my monthly wage and will have a different amount to save each month. So mine will be 100 days of saving over the whole of next year (2025)

    • @Happy2planwithDesiree
      @Happy2planwithDesiree  ปีที่แล้ว +14

      For me I don't see them as days. You could do one every day but personally that would not work for my budget. The way that I use this challenge is every week I pick one number to fill for that week. You don't have to go in order but you can if you want. Depending on my budget for that week it can be a high or low number. For instance when I don't have as much money to work with I will pick a lower amount like "15" or "25" whatever I can manage with the budget I have. If I have a little more money to work with then I would pick a number that is higher like "50" or something in the 90s. Like I said it all depends on the budget for the week. I have been doing this challenge for over 7 months and I don't think I am even half way done with it. But you can choose what pace you want to go with when it comes to this challenge. It's going to take me over a year finish but the payout is going to be well worth it.

    Come on people, this is for people who can put a few dollars a week, varying of course, who needs to see their savings in their hands. Some people like seeing their progress visually and being able to touch it. Obviously if your bills are more than your income you can't. But if you have a job for your bills and are a overachiever with a side hustle your side money could be put into a challenge like this. Don't ask stupid questions people, if you don't want stupid answers. The whole reason you are watching this video is bc you are looking at ways to save not pull money out of thin air.

    When I was quite young I got addicted to saving. I put everything in a piggy bank. When I couldn't put more money in, I would break it with a hammer. Once I did it in the living room with my dad there watching TV. When I started counting and we realised I had 2000 euros he panicked and told me to put it in the bank. He never wanted to have so much cash in the house :)

    Why would you not just put your money in the bank? Honest question- just don't get what is the benefit?

      If you’re like me, someone who has never saved, who sees money in their account even if it’s in savings and spends it then I would suggest trying this. That was my problem..I never saved until I started taking the money out and “saving” it in this way. Yes, you lose out on interest but I’m willing to sacrifice that because I would have never had that ever if I just put it in my account straight away. And bigger picture for me is this money is going into investments and I need a larger sum of money to do that..this is going to earn me way more than any savings interest will so again good with that too!

      Sometimes the simplest answer is not always the correct answer. If you don’t like this video then just exit out and leave. I’m just trying to share something that a lot of people have found useful to save especially if you’re not a saver. My end goal for this money is investments..I’m good with not earning a little interest because I’m looking at the bigger picture.

      You should search for some Canadian cash stuffers. There’s a few on youtube just to get an idea on how they are handling that

      Sorry to hear about your situation, maybe save whatever amount you can, 50 cents a day or less. I hope you are able to save some money. I’m going to do overtime hours at work to help complete my challenge, but maybe your situation is different. If I couldn’t do overtime I might pick up a part time job on the weekends, but I also don’t have kids so I’m able to do that. Good luck

      You can just get a plastic bank from the dollar store and put the money there and mark the amount on paper. You can also start with 25 envelopes or 50 envelopes.

      @melissachatman3990 ปีที่แล้ว

      Or number your paper 1-25 1-50

    Uhhh why not just put it in the bank

    • @Happy2planwithDesiree
      @Happy2planwithDesiree  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      YOU can do that...I choose to do this because I've never been a saver and this is a "fun" way to save. For me this money is going to be invested once I have it completed. If the physical aspect of having the cash doesn't work for you then you can just track it on the tracker and move the money over electronically.

    complete waste of time and effort ... just put the money into a savings account and you will get interest on it. I don't see the point of this at all.

      This video is for people who want to use this system…obviously that doesn’t include you. Thankfully we all have the ability to make our own choices and I choose to use this method because it’s helped me to become more aware of how I’m spending my money. Before this I would just spend and not save. So I see lots of points on why this is not a waste of time and effort.

    This is another “push” for me to just get started with budgeting and envelope stuffing. I’m starting by using the paper envelopes from Dollar Tree and save electronically (which I have to figure out how to make that work for me.) 💙💛🪴
