i *always* forget girls have periods. always. like, not w pts but outside of that analysis mode. it is crayzee really. what an extra hassle just to tack on to life. every single month. it is pretty bs. -JC

Hey again Rachel! I’m so ready and looking forward to your vlogs as a fourth year! I know exactly how you felt when describing the hurdles of disappointment, I literally took my TEAS exam this morning. I got a 74.7 and in California that is not competitive. I was crying and being very hard on myself for getting that low score as I strive for “perfection” but I was able to push through. It is done and dusted, all I can do is keep growing and learn to be more accepting of myself, my capabilities, and knowledge from here and stop second guessing myself but other than that I can smell an OB/GYN residency already lol. Your my whole motivation through life! 💙💙💙💙

We have a saying we say to a person who finished something that has been weighing on them it’s “congratulations on finishing” obviously it’s sounds better in my mother language but still am so happy for you and as soon as I got to end of the video I was so happy and that saying popped up in my head
I felt the relief you portrayed after finishing all your exams it’s such a weight lifted off your shoulders but can be paralyzing since studying is all you’ve been doing for so long. Im glad you have ob/gyn to look forward to, good luck Rachel im rooting for you❤️❤️❤️

7:10 poorly written questions is another problem. it isnt about trying to trick people. it is about making sure the bare minimum is understood by everyone. pedagogy on the whole needs an overhaul. i mean. im not going to do it. but some1 should. -JC
Rachel's passion and commitment to medicine has definitely informed and inspired my decision to attend Life Sciences at the University of Toronto, Canada (aka the Canadian version of "premed"). At what point in your medical journey do you take Step3? Just curious. Also Good luck with everything. I have been with since the beginning and I remember when you sat in class on the first day up until now and all is see is a strong willed woman with so much determination and strength, it’s amazing to see. You show grace and vulnerability in your videos and that is ok to cry and feel bad but let it not keep you down. You have been an inspiration in my own medical journey and I wish you nothing but the best as you continue forward.

There are a couple routes. I already had my bachelor’s, so I did route 1, or 4+1, so I can’t speak to how the 3+1 is. That final year is when it gets really intense. It’s so much information in a short amount of time, along with clinicals in the lab. You really have to plan to focus and be dedicated that whole year. Your social life will probably suffer a little, lol. Totally worth it though!

Hey Rachel! I'm so incredibly proud of you! So grateful for you and your videos. It's truly an honor to be a part of the red any community and to get to support you. A life update from me it's been a hard week. On Tuesday my dog Tux who has epilepsy had a seizure that lasted five our at 2 am. My Mom, sister and I could only take him to the vet when it opened at around 8 am. We got there he was still seizing and has a fever of 107 degrees. We made the very difficult decision to put him down. It's so hard. ❤🐜 It's was so nice to talk with everyone during today's premiere made me feel better.

Hi, im a pre-med and my work study is with Prometric. I administer the Step exams, im actually typing this from work. Tip: dont wear stuff with pockets, dont wear scrubs, bring lots of snacks and your study material. You ARE allowed to study on your breaks!

Hi Rachel, it will be fine. You have put so much work into studying. Going through medical school in Europe, I would always ask myself after an exam whether I could have done more to prepare for the exam. Most of the time that was not the case. This would make me feel better. I am confident you did well as you were so well prepared!

I'm a perfectionist as well and hate it when I focus on what I did wrong instead of what I do right. But my friends and certain doctors that I have a good relationship with have told me that it is OK to not do well.

I'm a MBBS I actually graduated a few weeks ago, and i passed my national license exam ( similar to usmle part 2 ), then i got nominated in general surgery but i never got matched, i was very disappointed in myself its been two months but it still breaks my heart :( what im trying to say is its ok if it doesn't go well the first time, you can try again. All the best.
