- Maybe no other European country has such diverse, yet so preserved rivers as Croatia. Adriatic coast is world-known, with crystal clear sea, rocky coastline with ancient stone towns like Dubrovnik…The sea is, however, not the only richness of Croatia. Its rivers are undoubtedly one of the most important values. From murky and slow lowland rivers that flood huge floodplains; through short and fast mountainous rivers that flush on rapids; then rivers in Karlovac region with travertine (tufa) waterfalls and slow, almost marshy parts with lush vegetation; quiet rivers in karst polje that are lost in the dark underground only to spring at other place; until big Adriatic rivers in deep barren canyons with waterfalls, that meet the sea in narrow estuaries like Zrmanja or wide delta-like Neretva. Since they are diverse and untouched, they are oases of life containing preserved biotopes with rare and endangered species on the European level. Because of their particularity, many endemic species live in them; among fish species in karst rivers around 15 are endemic. Enjoy Rivers of Croatia!

Odlican dokumentarac, ali narator je bas izmasakrirao sa naglaskom i izgovorom :(. I nisam siguran da je ispravno stavljati rijeku u zenski rod kao u hrvatskom jeziku. Its' basin, a ne her basin....

Croatia if full with endemic ichthiofauna, found nowhere else on the planet, yet you're showing us what we've seen a 1000 times before, birds-reptiles-amphibians and mammals. WHO wants to watch the same old documentary theme again again and again?? Show us what's under the surface, not above.
You are right, 15+ endemic species, great stories especially with species that go to the caves during the drought, etc...I wanted to shot these scenes, but unfortunately, I had very limited budged, only my own money, no support from any governemnt agency whatsoever...
@@ExploreCroatia I see, that's a real shame as fly fishermen around the globe would go nuts if they saw the softmouth trout of Neretva and all the other sport fishing opportunities that Croatia has to offer.
@@TropicalGardeningCyprus Croatian television was not interestes, or any sponsor, I gathere only 100$ throuhgh crowdfunding. But let me stop stop excuse, I will make better film one day...
