Naming a little dilo something along the lines of "Saturn, The Child Eater" is so funny to me.. and reminds me of the book series "He Who Fights With Monsters" where there is this apocalypse level leach swarm hivemind creature that is known for devouring entire worlds named "Collin" or "Team Collin", and a floating eye within a dark cloak that looks like a tear in reality itself called a reality assassin for it's increadibly deadly attacks that can't be resisted by anything called "Gordon" and a litteral shadow of death itself called "Shade".
I started rambling at some point but, 10/10 book series, would recommend ig :D
As if referencing the painting wasn't enough trauma, I then did an internal replay of Simba just nudging Mufasa not understanding why he won't get up when the baby just stood next to it's father while Syntac killed it.
The painting you are thinking about is probably 'Saturn Devouring His Son', so I vote to call that Dillo for Saturn!
an interesting bit of trivia on it, the painting wasn’t named that by the painter, it was found unlabeled in his house after his death. it was painted directly on the dining room wall.
the people who found it named it that because they didn’t know/want to consider what else it could have been.

the painting you mentioned is called "Saturn devouring his son" so i think it would be fitting to call the dilo Saturn.
Kronus would also be a decent choice since that's the Greek equivalent.

The painting you were thinking of is Goya's Saturn Devouring His Son, which is a depiction of the Greek myth of the Titan Cronus who ate his children out of fear of Gaea's prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him - which did occur with Zeus.

So glad you're playing this! For your base location, or at least an outpost, please consider just south of the swamp. It's up on a huge flat ridge overlooking it and there's a ramp up to it to the east. It's pretty centrally located as well. At least check it out. :)

The cryo terminal is different from the cryo fridge, the terminal is used for auto capturing babies instead of just storage

Woot woot! Just starting to watch this new round! I really enjoyed a few of the past runs!
The painting in question is Francisco de Goya "Saturn devouring his son", it's from the greek myth that says that Chronos/Saturn recieved a message that he would me dethroned as a titan by one of his sons, so he consumed all of the babys, but his wife Gaya gave him a stone in place of his last son Jupiter/Zeus. So he grew up, slayed his father and took his brothers and sisters out of the titan stomach. This ended the titans era and started the gods era.
The story about the painting itself is kinda horrific too, Goya was becoming deaf, and hallucinating a bit, so he painted a lot of weird things on the walls of his house, "Quinta del Sordo", in Madrid.
If Syntac had a dollar for every comment talking about fricken Saturn Devouring His Son, he could buy the actual painting, hang it up above his PC and always remember what it's called.

Alright, as someone who likes to make the thatch rooves for wooden houses, the addition of triangle thatch ceilings is amazing. Before I just did sloped ceilings in a weird spiral pattern that clipped with itself a fair bit.
i noticed the highlights happen for me right before the dino dies. like one or two more hits.
This whole “I took 2 weeks off scorched because I was tired” isn’t gonna fly. You have a god damn job and it’s to provide us with content god damnit
My guy people can get burnt out and take a break if they wanted although this is probably his job it’s not his divine duty to play ark everyday stop watching him if you aren’t gonna let the guy enjoy his life

Replacement for Dino Storage V2 try Super Cryo Storage!!!
Is almost a strait copy/upgrade from Dino Storage in ASE!!
It has a Cryo Terminal that can Auto trap babies and passively generate resources if enabled!
Instead of Soul Balls it has CryoBalls that show's stat points, colours and other information
And a mod similar to S+ in ASA try QoL+ It is a fork and migration of the S+ ,it has everything you want from it
Multi-tool(pickup gun), Omni-tool, Structures: Hitching Post, AC, Feeding Trough, Bee Hive, Farmer, Gardener, Nanny, etc..
And it has ITEM PULLING!!! the only thing it is missing is a Crafting Station to craft the same items from player inventory like wood/stone structures etc..

I played the Center a couple months back, and silly you spawned across from the ruins I used as base.
Since you feed the Dilo his son you should definitely name him Kronos, also keep up the great work with all the uploads.

Quick tip..for faster fiber gathering go in the water and collect it from there.
Would recommend using Dino Depot rather that Pelayori's cryos. DD's way more actively supported and updated and has a lot of QoL stuffs, pretty much a port of Dino Storage from ASE.

the dinos have been highlighting before death for me since ASA launched, i dunno why or how to turn it off. my best guess is is saying nearly dead? seems to happen a hit or 2 before they die i think its something to do with the spyglass mod

Syntac, since you are using mods in this series, you should really check out the visual storage mod. It's great for easy storage and organizing the base. It is also very immersive to see your resources around the base and to see them rise and fall as you put more in or use them. I think you might enjoy it. Have watched your videos for years, by the way, and I love your content. You are the only channel that I watch all new uploads.
It would be cool if you could use the Dilo to get spoilt meat. Like if you kill something that is spat on then it would have spoilt meat instead of raw.

There's a reason I have ini-swapped rats and seaguls with Trilobites and Hesperornis on my ASE.. There are a gazillion seaguls on The Center!
