I’ve been to Istanbul 5x so far this year (was last there a week ago) and I’m going again in 3 weeks, with more than likely once more again in December and I always exclusively pay in TL cash or with my bank card. I’ve never paid in £, € or $USD cash. I don’t get charged any fees with my bank card so it’s quite convenient to pay with card when it’s accepted pretty much everywhere in my experience, except from little Simit stalls and things like that. All I’d recommended to anybody going to Turkey is just remember the £-TL conversion rate, check if your bank charges card fees and you should be fine :)
I always take Scottish money off my Turkish friends.it’s hard for them to exchange over there always English pounds in shops and lira in restaurants. A told you in your very first video Kevin how it works 14 years av been going to marmaris. Just exchange English notes at any wee shop my apartments exchange mines for me.
I don't change my money in marmaris British money all the way but I have heard they don't like taking the Scottish pound for some reason but they love the pound you have to watch the restaurant don't charge a bit extra if you use British always change your money in marmaris sometimes the small shops will give you a better rate 😎👍

Do u use a British bank card and just scan it for what you want to buy ?
Remember and change any Scottish money to English before you go. Some places charge more or refuse it altogether. Just my personal experience.
I go all inclusive and use tl for tips, 100 is around £3. The Shops i steer clear off unless it's to buy stuff for the folks back home
Was paying £6 football shirt in Hisaronu this summer. Some were doing 4 for £20
Wow
Always English pounds. We change to lira over there as you get a better exchange. But if buying anything or paying for trips, we pay in English.
Thanks video I'm off to Turkey next year for the first time

Great tip!
I take sterling mainly but also some lira for tipping in bars and restaurants
When you say you take Sterling is that on card or cash? I go to icmeler on 12th August and I'm so confused by it all😂
I take English money and change it there Kevin ❤

Depends if your bank charge but prob better bringing pounds
British pounds are the king currency
It really confuses me why British Airports no longer accept cash..... They were quite aggressive about it when i asked why back in March.
