    12:11 Live Courageously
I got rid of most of my possessions and have decided to make a huge life change to move across the country to live in another city. Leading up to this decisions has made me reflect on a lot of things about life. In this video, I share 8 of those things.
    1. Life Is About Trying, Not Winning
When we think about doing something different in life, we often focus on winning and achieving something; however, I believe that "trying" is the destination. It is important to try different things in life to see what happens because when you at least try you know the outcome. And knowing the outcome is ultimately what is important.
    2. You Only Get One Shot At Life
As I have entered my 30s, it is strange to think that I will never be in my 20s again. It caused me to reflect on the shortness of life and how it is important to not let your life pass you by and take chances. This is the only life you'll get, so take chances to do what you want.
    3. Don’t Let Money Prevent You From Doing What You Want
I often talk about how debt and no savings prevent people from doing what they want in life because it limits your options. However, having an extremely low cost of living can also hold you back because it can make you afraid of losing your level of security. If you have money, you should use it to do more of what you want in life.
    4. You’ll Never Be Fully Secure In Life
Something I have learned in the past year of doing TH-cam full time is that no matter what you do, there is no certainty. It doesn't matter how cautiously you live your life, you will never be fully secure. Don't be afraid to take chances and do something out of the ordinary because certainty is just a myth.
    5. Don’t Worry About The Future Too Much
We can often start to think about the future and begin to think of all the bad things that can happen. The future, however, is what you are doing right now and if you make good decisions in the present, then your future will probably turn out OK. It is important to not get trapped into worrying about the future.
    6. Don’t Let Society’s Expectations Decide How You Live Your Life
Oftentimes when you choose to do something out of the ordinary, people judge you and your decisions. This judgement can cause you to change your ways to please other people. It is important to be who you want to be and do what you want to do despite what other people say.
    7. Life Has Its Season
In life, there are different seasons where we do different things: seasons of reflection, transition, and adventure. It is important to embrace each season of life and also know when it is time to move onto the next season.
    8. Live Courageously
Throughout this past year, I have learned that no matter what you do in life there will be some fear involved. What is important, however, is that you don't let that fear hold you back. It is important to live your life courageously and not let fear hold you back.

I'm 46 now, but when I was 23 I bought a $500 used minivan and moved 6 states away with no job, no belongings except what I had in the van, and not knowing a single soul. It was the best decision I ever made.

My family is grown, My wife passed away from dementia and due to her medical issues and expenses, I no longer own a house. I have a good pension (I'm retired) and now have the choice to go where ever I want and do what I want. Im trying to make similar decisions as you right now. We will see where I end up. Hi Austin I moved across the country when I was 30 and have lived in Alberta and BC for over 30 years. I just turned 60 and have made the decision to get rid of everything, pack up my car and move across the country to my home province. It will be a one week drive almost 4,000 km. I am excited about transitioning to a new life. So nice to listen to your story! Best of luck to you.

A lot of us were raised like you said, to get a good education, a good job, get married have kids. Scared to do things out of the ordinary and take risks. Now we are seeing people that dedicated 20-30 years at a company get laid off. It wasn’t until recently on you tube I’m hearing younger generations saying it’s ok to fail and pivot and try new things.
Best wishes for your new chapter and Thank you for helping us prioritize and keep on track with our finances. 💗

I trust myself to be able to be resourceful and find a way to make things happen if I want them bad enough. I think that you are doing wonderfully - you’re up to 75 thousand subscribers! Because of you I started making a go at this TH-cam thing - it's something I always wanted to do but it was your transparency with your TH-cam journey, and specifically your video where you talked about how you were able to go full time through saving and being frugal, that pushed me to start posting regularly.

I hope you enjoy your new life adventure! I really appreciate the message you shared. I will however say I have 9 children. Eight whom still live at home. I am a single mother and jumping out there like you are is far more scary when you know their lives depend on you making the right choice. There is no way we could just live in our car for a moment and work anywhere with any hours. So while I agree with not letting fear cripple you into not being complacent I also have to say when others lives hang in the balances of your choices, sometimes staying where you are is the safest bet.

This video resonates with me so much! So many people have been telling me to follow the normal path throughout my life since I was a kid till now when I'm in my 20s as a creative. Get a degree, go get a girlfriend, prepare early for marriage ect
I often get the judgement from people when they asked about what I do & what I'd like to pursue in the future but I always knew that what they want for me might be for a good reason, but I shoud never let anyone else change how I'd want to live my life just because of their judgement

I am lucky enough to work on a relatively high paying job, and the only debt I ever took in my life is my mortgage, which I have a goal to pay at 31y, and the even a minimum wage is enough to fulfill my needs, so I can take risks and fail and try. I'm definitely not a risk taker. I have honed my life for frugal living, surviving in times of high cost. I have got my expenses right down. I have savings, no debt and I'm free to make whatever decisions I want, but that frugal mentality has left me scared to take chances and blaming that on not feeling like I have enough money if it turns out to be a misjudged decision. I have decisions to make. And that's what my 2024 is going to be about because I definitely feel like I need to make a change.

This is the BEST video yet!!!! I am also double your age and two years ago I grabbed the proverbial bull by the horn and moved from Maine to Alabama, it was the best move I could’ve ever made. I did move for a job, and it came with a promotion and in June I got another promotion so for me it’s all working out. And I am very Change averse. But also trying to embrace change as a good thing. Good luck in Atlanta, you’ll do great things.

Austin, so much wisdom for a still young person. You inform in an interesting, entertaining way.
I've seen you bust a move in other videos. You could combine dance and financial advice in the same videos. I'm kidding, of course. But you are delivering a valuable lesson to those starting out, and those who have lived a while longer but still don't see the bigger picture.
    I'll keep watching and learning.
    Thank you

I have my hat down for you as such a fine young gentleman with lots of wisdoms in life. I know lots of people twice your age with the minds like a 10 years old. Keep up the good work and your next chapter in life is always sunnier cause of what you are doing now reflect the next chapter in your life.
