This video ended up longer than I expected! I thought about this topic for a few weeks before sitting down to record it. I think I had a lot of thoughts I wanted to share because this is a topic about which I'm passionate. I hope it's okay! Maybe you can listen to it while driving or before you sleep.
I haven't officially "announced" it anywhere yet, but the first shirt for Beautiful Day Clothing is out! I'll still be tweaking the website later tonight but everything is set up to ship.
I want to use this as a way to highlight the wonderful artists in our community as well as raise money for charitable causes (St. Jude's Children's Hospital this month). It also helps support the brand of course.
Even if you don't care to buy anything, our artists worked hard on the illustrations so check out the designs below!
    The shirt I'm wearing: shop.hybridcalisthenics.com/products/have-a-beautiful-day-shirt-spring-2021

    Thanks so much, everyone!

Right now, Im suffering from binge eating disorder, i dont have friends to hang out with (which i wish i had.) well I tried to be friendly (like, i did my best), but I think they think I was too weird that they all run away. I dont have friends, I dont have hobbies, being in this negative feelings I feel 24/7, the only thing I found that gives me happiness is eating.. So, the moment i eat is the *only time* I can feel happy. I keep jumping from weight gain and weight loss so fast and vice versa, as if my working out and my disorder is doing a tag of war. And my depression hits so hard that i dont work out anymore. And I know, its just a matter of time, till I'll become obese, my family is already fat shaming me in my normal weight, what more if I become obese.

This video is incredibly timely for me.
You have done an excellent job distilling the thoughts I (and I hope many others) reach when seriously considering my current life. Often, it's not exactly the current life that's the issue but rather overstimulation and a lack of reflection.
I sincerely appreciate that you're putting private thoughts in the open in order to improve the lives of others. Please continue to be as thoughtful, open, and honest as you are here. In 27 minutes I have changed my thoughts from "I can learn from this person" to "This person is genuinely wise and good".

I often feel SO stuck. I'm 27 and have been dealing with a chronic pelvic/groin physio condition that I can't seem to overcome. I feel chronic tension and pinching of the nerves my left groin, which effects almost everything I like to do (intimacy, exercise, work...). For the past few years I have essentially just been 'buying time' to try to overcome this so I can move on with my life, and to do all of the things I want to do, but sadly I haven't been able to yet. Sometimes I feel like I've lost my whole life to this. When I don't think I can overcome this, every aspiration seems pointless. Which is why I watch channels like this in hopes I can train my muscles to get rid of whatever dysfunctional pattern has caused this.

    • @axeberge
      @axeberge 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I'm going to attempt to give you some tips. I'm not a medical doctor but struggled with a herniated disc causing pinched nerves and negative thought patterns regarding it for a few years. Do whatever activity/movement that you can do that is painless or close to it. Walking is usually the best, regardless of the pain (almost).
Say you can walk 5 minutes painless or close to it, before it starts becoming an issue. Start incorporating 5 minute interval walks, taking breaks until you can repeat an interval painless. This is easiest to do if you can get access to a treadmill. Now if you can walk for 10 minutes + you can just take a walk outside. Preferably try to walk anywhere between 20-60 minutes a day, 30 minutes is a good goal to aim for.
Regarding your postponement of the rest of your life. Waiting for perfect conditions is a terrible idea, do what you can with your current capacity. I might be able to give more specific ideas/tips if you elaborate on what exactly you are postponing. Personally i went on extended travel to many countries with my back condition by using painkillers and tips i found on airplane seating to endure the flights, then daily exercise and walking a lot due to the nature of traveling. I had many days that were bad and painful, but i still managed to find ways to do the things i wanted.

Thanks for the kind words Hampton. I have something called pectus carinatum and it basically causes my chest to protrude way more than normal. It’s a pretty rare deformity and I’m looking for ways to fix this so I started to try bodybuilding. Specifically my chest and abs. I hope to see some results and I’m trying to stay positive. You’re videos really helpful and inspiring. Thanks for spreading positivity.

One specific detail of this video really resonated with me. I've been on a forced hiatus from Amino for almost a full year now, and I thought it was for one reason. Once I heard this video I realized that it was only part of the problem. I was averaging maybe 4-6 hours on Amino every day. I didn't realize how bad it was for my health. After a bit, I thought I understood. That feeling persisted until now. From my experience, there are several points where you think you've improved, just because you've identified what you were doing wrong, even though you haven't made an effort to change it. You never realize you haven't actually changed until something clicks. For me, that something clicked about a month ago, but I couldn't find motivation to actually do something about it. This video definitely helped. I'll try some of the things that you suggested. If they work, I might be back to share any other tips I found along the way. For now, I'm feeling rather tired, so I'm going to sleep. Without my TV running as background noise and light, for once. That may help.

This is so powerful. I just made dinner and I decided to turn on TH-cam to find something to stimulate me. I've been feeling very bogged down lately and am ready for a vacation. I have a job and a second job I do when I want. Lately I've been trying to find out why I Can't get myself to do my job that doesn't have a schedule. I finish my first job and even on early days I feel like doing nothing. And nothing is what I do.... except for one thing. Yes video games. I'm passionate about most fighting games and I spend a ton of time when I'm not at my 2 jobs learning about them. It's never been a problem before but watching your video as I ate dinner I realized just how much I've forced squeezing them into my time. On my breaks at work. Before sleep. Even during work I talk to people about frame rates and other intracies. I don't want to give them up as I've started streaming occasionally and I play a few games on not one but a couple phones I have. Yes it's that deep. Where I live I've accumulated alot of things. Video game systems, cars. And with that bills. Multiple phones, 4 vehicles, every single video game system. And I realize you are right. It's a escape from reality. I will try and scale it back as I ponder what I really want to do. I hope this wasn't too long. Thanks friend

I always expected myself to live until 30, im super unhealthy and im feeling it at the age of 19. This resulted in me for thinking that I should rush my goals and I have a short term goal that can only last until im 30. And, I always hated myself, How I walk, How I talk, my mannrisms, my face, my height, my quirks and all. I tried avoiding looking at the mirror for a month, nothing changed. I always feared talking and going outside of my home, I fear that everyone loojs at me and notices every one of my insecurities. Even when we have a family gathering, im always slouching, looking down and avoiding eye contact even tho they are my "family". I alwayd wanted to draw and draw, because of my thinking that i will only live up to 30. I rushed and rushed drawing, I burned myself to a state where I hated drawing, I fear drawing, I lost my passion, drawing. Every morning I get welcomed by angry people complaining about everything, Im sorrounded by gossips about other hating other people. Everyday, for 19 years of my life, this has been going on, Im super tired of all of this, I even tried suicide, but I dont have the courage, I still care for the ones i will left behind. I just, just cant help myself thinking about all of this. AND I HATED IT, I HATE EVERY SINGLE WORD, IDEA, THAT COMES OUT OF MY MIND. I have my friends, i dont trust them even tho they prove themselves kind and trustworthy to me, but, Im a mean minded man that always find a negative thing about something and everything nice to me. I lost my friends, only 2 stayed and they are far from me. I want to stop everything from happening, even tho it cost me everything. I wanted a restart, a reboot, thats why i always believed of reincarnation, And thats a bad thing because thats my motivation to attempt suicide. Damn, I hated everything, myself and all, I doubted everything, my friends my family, I lost my passion, I always compare myself to others. I feel super guilty when I think about the old me that is super super joyful and super energetic child. I feel like I lost that child, the me. I feel like I killed it. I feel like im a way way different person from who I used to be, The super joyful, charismatic, friendly and positive me. Im tired, Dont know what to do, always thinking I dont deserve everything i have, always nervous, always worried, tired and all. Hans speaking, hoping I have a good morning

Hampton! Brother! Man this was a extremely interesting and insightful video to watch! And I actually followed through with the part where you said to be alone with your thoughts for once 🙏 it was a dark and scary place truly. I ended things about a lot of dark things that have happened to me in the past, but inna Sense for the first time in YEARS I was alone with those thoughts and I was able to comes to terms with a lot of the things that happened to me in my life, from losing loved ones to thinking back to past relationships, to thinking about lost job opportunities to even the darkest of times when I wanted to take my own life. It was a really dark and scary place but man I have to say I truly feel better for it. Normally I can't fall asleep without some form of tv or noise to keep "the mind" at Bay. But after just embracing the the silent for a good 20 mins I found I was able to learn from my past experience and move on 🙏 (and fall asleep ha!)

I know this is kind of petty but my main motivation for fitness is being made fun of all my life for being underweight. My parents have been calling me anorexic for years even though I knew that I wasn't, and my friends would laugh at me whenever I took my shirt off. I wouldn't call it "bullying" cause I was never really physically hurt, but I was definitely belittled by everyone due to my body.
I'm 5 months in my fitness journey and I can't recognize myself. I can lift my 100lbs dog with such ease and I couldn't even lift him by the start of this year. I'm maintaining 135lbs which is normal BMI for me, but I keep aiming to be bulkier and leaner!
I guess what I want to say is even the worst negativities and insecurities in your life could be used as motivation. I'm personally using all the harsh words I've heard as a fuel to prove everyone wrong.
