If the writers and producers decide to set Callum up with the latest version of Johnny Carter now that Ben is out of the scene, I’m gonna be genuinely furious.
@@shaunacurley1032Shauna, you've spent the last week saying that you think Johnny and Callum would make a good pair. So which is it? Do you want Callum and Johnny to get together, or do you want Callum to wait for Ben?
@@Zordboyshe's been on Facebook saying she hope Callum and Johnny don't get together but on TH-cam Shauna Curley says she hopes Callum and Johnny get together she does my head in.
I doubt they are setting him up with Johnny. He probably wants to get rid of callum as soon as possible just like ben/max. I predict callum will pack his bags and be gone in a few months if not sooner. Shame this idiot is throwing away all the interesting characters.
@@IamJFlorezz Clenshaw, the executive producer, who is flavour of the month at the BBC at the moment, because of rising audience figures, and some parts of the audience , who share Clenshaw's love of bringing back worn out old characters from the early days of the show (Cindy might have been a sex symbol in 1990, but she is far from that 34 years on), took against Max Bowden, who played Ben for the past 5 years because he said he felt there was too much focus on Max;s private life, in the press, so he did not renew his contract, and as time was running out, he devised this ridiculous story where Ben is arrested under an international warrant from the USA. These sort of warrants would normally only be issued for violent crime or murder, or fraud on an industrial scale. It is a story almost as ludicrous as Clenshaw's "masterpiece" of the six women involved in a murder at Xmas. Because Callum and Ben were so closely tied together, and Callum's family were let go, people now speculate on whether Callum (Tony Clay) will also be removed from the programme when his contract ends. I think that is why many people want him to develop another relationship, though that doesn't seem to be in the nature of Callum's character, who has always been staunchly loyal to Ben - even when Ben was pushing him away, and when they were not having sex for long after Ben's rape - Callum accepted it and didn't look elsewhere. One of my problems with EE (and other soaps) is the way young male characters are bumped off, seen as expendable, yet by the same token, Clenshaw is bringing back "Mo Harris" some old boiler who contributed little or nothing to the show except Cockney coarseness, in the years she was uneventfully in it. I believe the previous producer sacked her. To be honest since Xmas I have only watched the Ballum scenes on YT, as the murder story bored the hell out of me - AmDram at it's worst, and the Nish empire leaves me cold. I look forward to the day the BBC realise that the genius Clenshaw isn't as clever or important as he thinks he is. This happens on many soaps, a producer boosted to the skies ends up, losing his job and given the consolation prize of writing odd episodes (Stuart Blackburn was a good example of that on Emmerdale - I don't think he even writes the odd episode at all now)
Besides the fact that I hate the producers for getting rid of Max, the story-line is silly because the US authorities would never travel across the world to chase down a petty criminal for a bit of minor credit card fraud. The extradition story is rubbish and so are the producers. You know, they never even gave Ben and Callum any time to be happy together, because they constantly threw one crazy drama after another at Ben. No consideration of or thought for the legions of fans. Just dump one of the greatest love stories in British Soaps because they apparently disagree with elements of the actor's private life. That's the last time I'll be watching this show.
I couldn't agree more. The writers/producers missed a golden opportunity by not continuing the Ballum storyline. There was so much potential in it. And the U,S. would NEVER go through the trouble and cost of extraditing someone for
Probably. He regenerates more than the Doctor. In fact, I suspect that Ben is, actually, a part Time Lord. And we know where his TARDIS is, it drifted off and became the Slater house (which is why there's 500 people comfortably living there).
Even if he did, it’s still hard though for him I mean that’s his husband for goodness sakes. I hope they’re not getting rid of Ben’s character even if they do change actors again I hope he comes back eventually to Callum and to everyone he loves and who loves him this is so sad I really hope they don’t end their love story like this I swear they keep putting Ben and Callum and the relationship through crap I want to say the other word, because it takes me off but I don’t want to get flagged on here or whatever you call it I personally think they’ve been through enough tough times they deserve a happier ending than this I hope it’s not the end for them that would be so tragic.
@@GinaSigillito I’m well aware of that. But nonetheless, losing a loved one - one’s husband - is still gonna hurt even if you’ve prepared yourself for the moment.
I assume you referred to Ben, (not Been :p) and that it's a slight spelling error in your comment? That's what I wish they had done too, to make it a more happier storyline, but no, they didn't, did they? They had to make a doom and gloom storyline instead. 😕(like they've done millions of times before) I have a slightly different idea with Lexi though. Billy was complaining that he already lost Lola, and that he didn't want to lose Lexi too. In this case, Lexi could stay, but Ben and Callum promise her that she can visit whenever she likes. (off screen obviously) That's only my idea anyway, for which it didn't happen like that obviously, but in any case, they didn't really have Lexi to say a proper goodbye to her dad which again, I think would've been quite nice if they did, but there we go, it is what it is I guess.
@@shaunacurley1032I guess I should have clarified that. I thought it was obvious. With the scenario given, with Ben and Callum leaving with or without Lexi, Lexi should stay with Ben because HE'S Lexi's father, not Billy or Jay or Callum.
The crime he committed was in America. The warrant for his arrest was issued in the US. He has to be tried on US soil and sent to the US for his sentence.
Callum will most likely leave the square in the near future as well, probably with the story exit as going to America to be able to visit Ben in prison more often than not at all while he's in the UK. Lexi will either end up coming with Callum or staying behind with Jay, either way, this is by far the worst Ballum story arc I've witnessed, and they've been through a lot of horrible story arcs in the past.

Now, that is the appropriate response to finding out your loved one is being sent to America.
This show is doing anything in its power to treat characters like shit more and more as episode goes on and boy does it show.
