just because you play hammer like a bot and spam dlight sair doesn't mean it doesn't have a 4 piece true combo that's difficult to learn. Hammer has a lot of advanced combos. Boomie even mentioned the Gauntlets combo was similar to a Hammer combo in the vid bruh. Lance used to have difficult true combos but they were all removed so you're right about that one

for those of you who tried for hours and couldn't get it right, I hope this will help:
you have to chase dodge before the down light ends, then you jump then press the attack button.
if you're doing the input right but you keep doing nlight, it's because you're jumping too late, and if you're doing the input and and only the jump and the nair are coming out, you're jumping too fast.
keep practicing it, don't worry if your computer or the keyboard/controller are bad because if you can do any other combo you can do this one regardless of the keyboard/controller you're using.

it's actually easier than you'd think. I've been working on this combo for like 6 hours total which is quite a bit and I'm pretty close to having it consistently even tho I'm with controller. the only problem is input delay, if that shit spikes you won't be able to do the combo whatsoever (and I didn't even know about this technique which seems to make the combo rather easy)
I mean it was in the game a year ago and they patched it out, so if they patch it out now they'll probably re-add it in a year after nerfing gauntlets again :V

I've been trying this goddamn combo for hours and i think i'm slowly going insane over it.
Whenever I let go I end up sair
then dont practice it
I actually got it down in under 20 minutes, but I haven't got it true
i just messed with movement until i got it
i mastered it (like 90 to 80 percent)
Just got it for the first time couple tips to help get it. 1.put the slow mo section in half speed to look at each input. 2.if you use the frame step to reverse it the game will just redo the inputs until you interfere so you can add the nair after to make sure it worked.

Thank you Boomie, I watched this the day it came out but I never gave it a try, but I main Cross now. Your guide was quite helpful after looking at the inputs you put and memorizing the timing I can get it 3/5 times with only 27 mins of training. Gonna keep working on it

Just search up plolz scythe gimping tutorial. This is the best scythe guide I have ever found and it helped me a lot and also good for trying to learn 0-deaths

Guys for the ones who are having trouble getting the timming it makes way more sense to me how to find the timming if you just wait your character to get blue after any input comand. I know it's quite obvious, but it helped me to get the timing.

Dlight dair is just nice because it puts them airborn and in a good position for stringing. Nlight is harder to follow up on.

@@Keizn neither, Boomie said that D light D air has been something that every gauntlet players uses but he doesn't think it's that good because you don't want to be above your opponent with gauntlet, but I agree with Solly. Boomie is talking about it at 5:42

I tried to learn this combo like 6 months ago. Everyday 30 minutes in training for 1 week on controller and my best result was 50% when im feeling it. The real struggle is to hit it online. U can hit any combo in training but when it matters and ur dummy is fighting back its different. U dont wanna try something in ranked that u struggle with in training. I wonder if keyboard players could do like a hotkey where they save the input on 1 button and after pressing it some sort of programm runs through the input 🤔🤔🤔🤔 anyway just saying it is possible on controller

i used to play on controller but i think keyboard is better because you can have more sharp and clean movement but i think controller is better for aerial movement in some other games

If keyboard after doing dlight hold down button(don't hold forward)then dash jump recovery.controller don't know
Ash Bash its the same but u need to flick up after the holding down n hit the recovery

As a note, Dlight dair and Dlight nlight do the same damage (28) it's just that for some reason training mode doesn't count the former as a combo
Well they’re both true regardless but dlight dair is more effective because of the positioning

I see some people say that this would be super difficult on controller but i think this is a result of how people use their controller. For me (on PS4) I use Dlight jump chasedodge nair. For this I use my L2 as jump specificaly for strings and combos like this, like russian mafia. The inputs would be:
Square (dlight)
L2 (jump)
R2 (chase dodge)
Square (nair)
Unfortunately the timing for this is still very hard but some practice goes a long way. As a side note, I also use this method for Dlight Recovery on gaunts. Hope this helps any controller players looking for a different way for this combo!

ik it's an old vid but tysm i learnt to do dlight - jump - chase dodge - reverse nair with ur help
If u are seeing this comment there is a very easy way to do this with the original imput, if you use w or space to jump it will work, make e ur secondary jump if u use w and then e, chaste dodge the way with your imput and it will be way easier, for jump use your left alt hope this helped it makes it 10x easier for me and i get it perfect every time

I play ps4 and the left stick on the controller is horrible these past days for some reason [I've had the controller for 5 years:)] so I'm beginning to get used to the arrows and I did dlight nair after a couple of tries. the way i learned this was including the concept of the reverse gc dlight nair but jump before the chase dodge and then nair just like hammer dlight recovery
To play this combo I do 1) ground light 2) dodge + jump + right(or left) in the same time 3) I do light air. Maybe it's not the perfect version but it's the best to begin.
you cant chasedodge in a direction if you dont input left or right before the dodge. to properly do it you hold down and side, let go of down after you press light attack, hold side for a split second, chasedodge right as you are stopping holding side (you have to let go of side almost immediately after chasedodging and you only hold it down for a split second after you let go of down). then jump while no inputs are being held at the same time, then press light attack while holding no inputs.

Slight-nlight-gc dlight-cd reverse-sair-dair
Between sair to dair you'll have to move a like diagnally to catch with the fair
