We're keeping a list of the amazing places you guys have been recommending! Any others we need to visit next time? 🏠 Punta Caliza is the name of the hotel we stayed at, check out pricing and reviews here - geni.us/QUFSzR
I recommend Royal Hideaway Playa Car. 98 rooms great food 50 greatest hotel in world. Great beach when no seaweed. Walking distance to 5th ave in playa. Or Maroma Beach Your preferred resort. Excellence and Iberostar Grand are outstanding
I went for my honeymoon in November and stayed at Casa Las Tortugas. My husband and I loved being so close to the center of town. We walked everywhere and rented bikes to see more of the island. We would 100% go back in a heartbeat.
You two are totally adorbs! I started watching your videos about a month ago when I began planning my trip to the Balkans. Since then I've seen about 80% of your posts. The style evolution from your early stuff to this is dramatic and fun to witness. But all of it is entertaining and informative. I ❤ your vibes!
My wife and I travel a few times a year to Mexico.. I do not recommend actually staying on the island. The island is a true gem however we must not forget how fragile it is. Flamingos hermit crabs Dolphins The beach of pure white shells. The best way to see Holbox for first time is take a day trip like holbox magico. It takes you all around island by private boat and is like 100 bucks a person from playa or cancun about 3 hour trip to lil port town. 1 day is plenty I reccomes staying in playacar. and book a trip to holbox see the awesome mini islands and cenotes.
Wow! It is a paradise. The beach is amazing with a white fine sandy beach. The weather looks very pleasant with cool breeze from north. It is a perfect time and weather to be at the place. I wish that I could just lying on the sandy beach.
Awesome! Yes! I also drove around the little town of Holbox and up the coast to Punta Mosquito, the sunsets are amazing here! Will be returning here this year 2020! Keep up the great work with your videos!
Loved the relaxed vibe of this video. I really felt your enjoyment of your visit. I'm happy you had such a cool experience! 😎 Happy New Year and many more happy trails to you both.
Isla Mujeres, North Beach for water clarity and deeper water. You can rent golf carts there too. Playa Tortugas Cancun is always pretty empty and totally amazing. Also, you have to go to Mazunte, Oaxaca and stay in a cabana there. That place is amazing
Awesome chilled vid as usual guys, was there a few months back and it is a gem for sure! Hope they don’t put no big modern hotels into here anytime soon!
Happy New Year!! Definitely a gem! I think this is absolutely my type of place. The golf cart was the perfect mode of transport for this location. It's going to be really interesting to compare this with the all inclusive resort in the next episode. Great the way you guys provide real contrast in your vlogs:)
Where were you when you made your Christmas video-the one you were wearing matching sweaters? Were you back in New Zealand? Thought you left Mexico? Of all your years travels where was your favorite ad least liked places?
Yup, back in NZ! Still have a few Mexico videos. Its honestly impossible to pick a fav place, we've managed to find areas or experiences in them all that we like. Greece would be high on the list though.
Stalker love is still strong in 2020. Your avid fan from the PH 🇵🇭now back in VN 🇻🇳. While I was away, I went to 🇹🇼and 🇲🇲and now that I am back, will put you both on repeat. Happy 2020 to my fave travel duo. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great video! It is indeed a beautiful place in Mexico. However, it’s the one place during my 4 week holiday in Mexico, I wouldn’t go back. I found it a bit boring after I did all the main activities on the island, and I didn’t wanna be on a beach every single day for hours since I spent quite a lot of time in other great beaches in Mexico. I was there 4 days ago, and there was a lot of seaweed and a really bad and strong smell on the beach so it wasn’t my favorite beach, and Punta Coco Playa which was meant to be really beautiful in my opinion looked A LOT better in photos than in real life. Holbox is definitely worth seeing once, and if you love chill places that’s the right place for you. La parrilla de Juan👌 recommended for dinner, there aren’t really many fancy places on the island, this restaurants looks very normal from the street but it was so TASTY.
Interesting! Crazy how polarising the views have been about Holbox, a few other people mentioning similar things as you actually... definitely surprised us to hear the other side.
How are the internet speeds there? Reliable enough to work/video conference on by chance? It would be so easy for us to get there from Vancouver, Canada.
Omg this was the suite I stay in 😂 I love Holbox, is super relaxing and the hotel is amazing. I convince my boyfriend to stay there because the hotel appears in many architecture mazagines.
Holbox was total commercialism in a disguise of dirt streets. We were told it was a refuge from all of the expensive commercial places in the Riviera Maya but we found it more expensive than many places in the Riviera Maya. We were so disappointed we actually left the island early.
Thats a real shame, sorry to hear that. Definitely no cheaper, we were never told that was the case, but it was a little paradise vs the chaos and business of the Riviera Maya in our view
Great intro... just had to watch the vlog. Seems a curious place... I wonder though if you would every get back there? Struck me as on the "nearly" list. But then again that is based on a lot of different factors. Oh and as for all inclusive IMHO great if you have children but for grown ups I like the food I choose and the wine I enjoy rather than have an endless supply of someone else's good profit margin choice. Just sayin' so I am really looking forward to your next vlog :) Happy New Year :)
The all inclusive vid is up now! Once in Holbox is probably enough, but theres lots of other little paradises to find around Mexico that we'd probably prefer to discover on our next visit
I want to go to Mexico for my birthday, can you recommend a the best resort in Tulum and in Cancun for the price and food, by the way I dont eat meat so I wonder about the all inclusive meals. thanks
We've only had limited experience in each place so wouldn't feel confident to recommend the best places, sorry! Would hate to be responsible for ruining your birthday 🙈
Wow, 600 pesos is $31.73 American, and I don't think a pizza is that much anywhere in the states lol. Hey, say "vibe" as much as you want! How was Hakka? 🙌🙌🙌
That looked like a true paradise guys. Unknown to the big public yet, in a romantic way it would be nice if it could stay like that. Thanks for sharing these chilled vibes :)
Because of my line of work, I hear a lot about crime rates in Mexico, especially murder and other violent crime, for which Mexico holds the unenviable distinction of having the highest rates of any country in the world. Have you seen any of that on the ground? Is it safe to backpack around?
Just got back from a 10 day trip through the Rivera Maya ranging from Tulum-Holbox very safe in my experience plenty of hostels including in holbox. Air bnb is a very good option at times even less expensive than a hostel. If you visit holbox don't miss the bioluminescent beaches absolutely amazing!
Guys is super cool that you like our country, but I would rather keeping Holbox a bit of a secret as there are many endangered species and this place cannot become a commercial area as it happened with Cancun. Please!!
I absolutely love Holbox! It's not for the pretentious. For anyone that wants to be pampered & doesn't appreciate true beauty you should go elsewhere. 1:12

Get there! It's awesome
It looks sooo beautiful there! Can't wait for your New Zealand vlogs :)

What a lovely comment! We're so glad you found us and have stuck around. Hoping you got some great ideas for your Balkans trip!
That is so awesome. So cute. I want to go here. Good video. Thanks for sharing. Love that the roads are not paved.
Some people didn't like that part of it, but we think it's all part of the character really
@@DanegerAndStacey I like that. It's very unique and authentic. Seems like a great place to visit.
So cool..and so chill, indeed. Paradise!
Hope it stays that way!

Great People and food!!!
You should try Gili air in Indonesia, no cars or bikes either!

It was, a paradise! ❤️
Awesome chilled vid as usual guys, was there a few months back and it is a gem for sure! Hope they don’t put no big modern hotels into here anytime soon!
I like how they still made the nicer resorts out of wood to keep the island vibes 👌
Glad you liked it as well - seems like the reviews are really polarising, some people hate it

Some awesome adventures you've been having!! Welcome back
For me the best beach in Mexico is Maruata Michoacán Is a hidden gem and it's not as recognized as a tourist destination .
Thanks for the heads up!
Tshhhhhh... Guárdalo los secretos.
No lo divulgues que los hoteleros no se enteren que irán a destruirlo!!!

Holbox is for going to relax, if you want to have "fun" all day long go to Disneyland.
How are the internet speeds there? Reliable enough to work/video conference on by chance? It would be so easy for us to get there from Vancouver, Canada.
Sadly, no. Holbox internet was pretty terrible everywhere we tried!
México it's magical ❤️🇲🇽

¡viva México!
One question...looks nice!!! In what month do you visit Holbox?
This was in November from memory
I was there about 3 years ago and no seaweed :) maybe the seaweed is the season. But yes it is shallow for aaaaages.
Aaaaaaaaages 🤣

@@DanegerAndStacey We spent 2 weeks in Puertos Morelos and loved it. Found it much less commercial than Holbox even.
Hello we want to travel to Holbox but we're afraid from Sargassum, are there at the beaches ?
It really depends on when you go, for us it was pretty much fine but others have reported it was terrible during their time
While i know some things are based on personal preference...what do you think is a good number of days to spend there?
hey what time of year was this? thanks

Googling that now, Dan!
@@DanegerAndStacey I did a couple videos from our trip there last August on my channel... cheap plug. :p

Try Koh Rong in Cambodia

If you visit holbox don't miss the bioluminescent beaches absolutely amazing!
We've honestly not seen anything of the sort - it just depends on where you travel I suppose. The locations we visited all felt very safe.
¡CHIAPAS! ❤

Haha. Honestly no real threats that we saw in Mexico at all, as long as youre still on the tourist route
Robert Maddelena you’re not living your life sir, that’s pathetic
😍😍
No “glow in the dark “ water?
🥰🥰
You’ve never spent $31 on a pizza?! Don’t go to portland, New York, LA or Chicago. Or do. Sounds like you need to get out more.
$31 for a pizza in Mexico is like $62 in the States. Don’t take everything so literally FFS.
@@DanegerAndStacey Fair price for any pizza with Lobster on it, which runs about $40 a pop
The next Tulum? So a bunch of Americans and Europeans are going to ruin the place.
Maybe... though no cars on Holbox which keeps it low key
