About the pineapple, it’s not doable with any variety. Actually, it’s a very specific kind. Here in Brazil we call it Abacaxi Gomo de Mel, what would translate to something like Honey Slice Pineapple.
Honeycomb Pineapple would be more suitable
Or known as the snack pineapple in the US.
"Honey Slice Pineapple" was my grandmother's stage name back when she traveled with the U.S.O. She wasn't Brazilian, well...most of her wasn't. Granny was a pro.
