I restored my grandfather's MK1 Fiesta with my father. It's a 1982 Fiesta XR2. He bought it in Dublin of that year, It was meant to be my first car, but no insurance country in Ireland will insure me until I'm 23.
Killian O Neill Emigrate to England mate...classics are far cheaper to insure here for younger drivers as the companies bank on classic owners being more careful with their pride and joy...and stop stealing all our mk2 Escorts!!!
25 and i bought my 944 S2 a year ago, she had been sleeping in a barn for 7 years after living in Germany and the UK... She now cruises Paris every weekend. Brilliant video again!
This video reenforces the reason why I brought my mini for my first car. Even though Im 3 months away from my 17th birthday and can't actually drive the thing legally it was the best purchase of my life!!!
Whenever I see a classic Mini like this it always makes me think of my childhood in the late 60's, early 70's. During that time my Dad always had them, in fact he had 17 Mini's altogether but one always stood out and to this day I can remember it's reg. number. It was 786 FON. It was a really old one, I know that. The starter was a rubber button next to the handbrake and it had a smaller rubber button on the floor to dip and raise the headlights, you never see that anymore do you, lol!! It's good to see young people like Maxime enjoying what I would call 'Real Cars', when todays cars are so plasticky and numb, and I include my own Nissan in that list. Keep the faith Maxime and enjoy it while the powers that be allow it. Peace x
Without any doubt whatsoever the best videography on TH-cam or any TV channel. If TH-cam did awards for best videography this channel would win every year.
Great to see young people enjoying classic cars. My mini and I are the same age, 1969 Cooper S, love it. Had one since I could drive. Even got taken to the track the weekend after I was born as my Father was racing one. Mini's in the blood. LOL.
+Florentin Mayon But not as small - the Mini is only 3m long. Amazing how they fit the mechanicals - and so much interior space - into such a small vehicle.
I love mine. I actually have two. A 1275 swapped Austin 1000 and a 1300fi car. The drive is unlike anything else. The immediacy and intensity of the cornering, even at low speeds, is absolutely breathtaking even after years of ownership. Another great video guys!
Those were the days, felt like they would never end. Bought my first a 1959 Mini Austin Seven during the last days of High School in 1968 & spent the summer fixing it up. Passed my driving test in 1980, bought a ‘63 Mini Cooper in Almond Green/Old English White. For extra pin money I would buy Mini MOT rust failures, cut out the rust, repair and repaint as necessary & sell them on, use the profit to buy another. Moved over to Hot Rods & Street Rods in the early 1980’. Following a upper spinal injury I found myself back in New MINIS & enjoyed them right up to the present. Finally buying a 2015 Porsche 981 Cayman. Have never lost the appreciation for the iconic Minis & their humble beginnings. Glad to see them still being enjoyed. Like the colour, looks like Reynard / Fox metallic. The adventure lives on 👍🏻.
I love small classics. I'm 18 now and, my 1966 Beetle is my first car which me and my dad got long before I could drive and have gradually cleaned it up. I learnt how drive in it back when it couldn't idle, heel-toe and no mirrors. Now it looks incredible and runs like a dream. Working on it has taught me so much about how cars run and how to keep them running. Easily inspired by my Dads nostalgia we also have a 64 Morris mini van which is our delivery vehicle for our print and graphics shop we run together. Young people with classic cars is a great combination.
I've bought a 87 Austin Mini that was in really poor shape as my first car and I've just finished my Restauration. It took me 6 months but now she looks amazing and I can't imagine life without her. I drove her through all of France so she has 6000 more kilometers in 3 to 4 months and 3000 in a week.
One of the best videos yet. The cinematography is just stunning. And the story of a younger driver who craves character in his car, it echoes loud in my circle of younger car guys.
reminds me of my long sold BMW E30 M40. the smell it produces as an old car, the vibration, and the sheer enjoyment of driving a car. different cars and different brand yes, but the feels they share sure the same.
I'm 21 and the proud owner of a BMW E30 318is. Everything Maxime says really resonates with me; after passing my test all I wanted to do was drive. But there's just something missing in new cars. The smell, sound, nostalgia and imperfections of driving an old sports car just don't compare... That and driving an appreciating asset!
Bought my Morris Mini Cooper S (1275cc) in 1969,complete with Hydrolastic suspension, and twin fuel tanks. A blast to drive and scare off other much bigger cars, especially on winding roads. Probably the most fun car I have ever owned
Watching this again and again just to feel very good about how this video describes the feeling of having and driving a Mini. I'm 18 and I love my 1976 fully restored 1275 classic Mini 😌
Who dislikes this video? It tells a good story, its shot really well with good views, sounds, and an awesome insight into this guys journey. Wtf is wrong with people?
Wonderful to see someone who really enjoys driving and the mystique of an automobile that seems so unlikely to so much pleasure. Beautiful cinematography, too.
Mine was a '78 Clubman...1100 with the Sprite head and a 38mm Weber, twin tanks...and 1/4 vent windows in the doors (I think only Australia got those, but they were wonderful on a hot day when a/c isn't even an option.) Incredibly unreliable - at least partly because of how I drove it. Sold it 25 years ago - but I still miss it.
I have owned 6 minis, i own 2 now 2005 s cab and an 1987 Austin black mini fully restored i love them, Its amazing how much the classic minis went up in value.
Another great video Petrolicious. Takes me right back to my first car, British Racing green 1275GT with twin 1.5 SU Carbs and a straight through 2 inch exhaust with a cherry bomb, original pocket rocket! Everybody should own a Mini as their first car.
Petrolicious you have delivered us another SUPERB video- not only the story subject but the filming and editing as well. The first car that I learned to drive was a mini, so this brings back memories- Good luck young man. I wish that I had the "Breakfast of Champions" decal !!
lovely video, nice car, Mine is a real Mk1 , January 1962. I bought it around 1967. It has been a good servant. For over 30 years it was fitted with a 1098 cc engine, 12G295 head, AEE630 cam, 1 1/2" SU, 3.44 final derive ratio. This was a fast tractable, reliable and economical road engine. It would easily pull just over 6000 RPM in top gear. In more recent years a 1275 engine was fitted, although nippy, I liked the 1100 engine more.
Really lovely story... and very well put together film. I love the editing it gives me a classic 60s vibe with shaky shots and a really nice focus on the car and driver. Stunning. :D
I actually bought my mom a MINI last year (the only video I uploaded on my TH-cam) and though she loves it, I can't help but feel nostalgia towards the original models, maybe her next one!
I had a Mini Mayfair at one point and it was a blast to drive. The pedals were perfectly laid out for heel and toe shifting, corners like a go-kart and it's so small it's never a problem to park. If it wasn't leaking oil and rusting like crazy I would have kept it.
seat belt kiddo ! ta ceinture garçon! Apart that, awesome vid', as always. Love old cars, I just bought a 1983 Porsche 944, after a year with a CRX. They don't make cars like these anymore. Just like that youngster stated: recent car, no feeling, no smell, boring haha !
I wish I had a mini. It would be awesome to drive in a rallycross with this car. Or just plainly drive it on the road. I have always loved them, and wish I could buy one. However, I just don't have the money for it... But I do have to say, this video was great. The car is in great condition, and the location looks amazing. Overall great video!
I used to have a couple - sold them when I was moving overseas. Sure can't afford one now - it was amazing to see how the prices went up when BMW introduced their MINI...and everyone realised how much better the old one was.
Merci c’est exactement le type d’avis que je voulais avant d’en acheter une j’ai 21 ans et je veux également cette voiture pour son caractère et son histoire.
Nice, very nice restored Mini, would have liked to hear more about the specs tough. The badge on the back says Speedwell, if this car has a such an engine it would have been worth mentioning. If it is a 1975 car then the backlights and the front grill are not original but again; really nice to see such a beautifull Mini. And the tale regarding changing the fuelpump; nice story but have you ever tried to do that at the side of the road?! Bleeding knuckles guaranteed....
Superb mini and superb colour. Does someone know what is the colour exactly ? Between red brown and orange? They wrote bronze but I wonder What s the name of it or the code colour.. thanks.
Every single time I watch Petrolicious there is a huge problem... The problem is I want to own each and every car that is featured :P
damn straight.
I agree
haha don't forget the bikes
Same here! Every short film is well out together 👍🏻
You're not alone...👌👍
Young blood and old cars can't be a bad thing.. I'm 20 and I drive a 1963 Ford Consul Classic 315
Matthew Jennerway - Graphic Designer I understand you! For my 20th I bought an Alfa 75 :)
I restored my grandfather's MK1 Fiesta with my father. It's a 1982 Fiesta XR2. He bought it in Dublin of that year, It was meant to be my first car, but no insurance country in Ireland will insure me until I'm 23.
25 and i've had 2 Minis myself, the first a '94 Mini Sprite which i rebuilt as my first car. Now I own a '65 Mk1 Morris Mini. Old cars rock!!

I hope it gives you many years of happy, trouble free motoring & enjoyment too once you pass your test!
Diefers Dashcam UK Channel THANK YOU!!!!
It's my first car also, its the best thing i own or have ever have. I have a video on my channel of it being rebuilt.
Petrolicious Sure, will do.
Petrolicious Hi, I've just sent you a message.
Man, the cinematography is amazing in this video. Awesome job.
I sold an old "Mercier" racing bicycle to this very bloke a few years ago! Nice to see the evolution!
Wow the cinematography is incredible!

One of the best petrolicious films in a while, merci beaucoup moi j'adore ausi la mini elle me manque, but I live my triumph spitfire more
Oh another Spitfire driver, cant wait to start the Season ;)
Without any doubt whatsoever the best videography on TH-cam or any TV channel. If TH-cam did awards for best videography this channel would win every year.

this channel has the most beautiful visual on all of youtube
This is one of the most beautifully shot Petrolicious videos. And that's saying something. Keep up the excellent work!
I wish they would still make small cars that are this fun today!
I should stop buying so many cars tho... xD
Adriano's Classic 500 well they do! I have a 500 abarth esseesse, and this think is mad! And less than 4 meters long, so a very small car! :D
my gf has a new 500, and I have a classic 500 and a classic mini, and i
can tell you the new 500 seems huge! I agree the essessse is sick tho!
+Florentin Mayon But not as small - the Mini is only 3m long. Amazing how they fit the mechanicals - and so much interior space - into such a small vehicle.
THEY DO! Check out the car im building!
They do. Just not many sold Stateside.
I found that strangely moving. A young French lad and his old British car. Magic.
I love mine. I actually have two. A 1275 swapped Austin 1000 and a 1300fi car. The drive is unlike anything else. The immediacy and intensity of the cornering, even at low speeds, is absolutely breathtaking even after years of ownership. Another great video guys!

Wonderful to see someone who really enjoys driving and the mystique of an automobile that seems so unlikely to so much pleasure. Beautiful cinematography, too.
Mine was a '65 Austin Cooper S... 1275cc, sliding windows, twin fuel tanks, external hinges, etc. GREAT fun!
From a 250 GTO to an Austin Mini, Petrolicious showcases what we're all looking for, and this guy found: pleasure in driving. Fantastic video.
I have owned 6 minis, i own 2 now 2005 s cab and an 1987 Austin black mini fully restored i love them, Its amazing how much the classic minis went up in value.
I think this is the most beautifully cinematic video i have ever seen starring a mini... my favourite TH-cam video of all time...
Another great video Petrolicious. Takes me right back to my first car, British Racing green 1275GT with twin 1.5 SU Carbs and a straight through 2 inch exhaust with a cherry bomb, original pocket rocket! Everybody should own a Mini as their first car.
Classic minis are so cool! They are such a happy little car and that happiness is translated to the driver!
Beautiful car, beautiful filming, beautiful editing, beautiful music... Great job, Petrolicious!
I didn't understand a word of that...and I loved every minute. Magnifique & bravo, Petrolicious!
This kid gets it.
He understands what it's all about.
Nice one kiddo. Enjoy!
A beautifully filmed piece. Oh to have the light of the northern hemisphere while shooting down here in Australia. Magnifique
Continuez les videos en français, elles sont magnifiques !
Petrolicious you have delivered us another SUPERB video- not only the story subject but the filming and editing as well. The first car that I learned to drive was a mini, so this brings back memories- Good luck young man. I wish that I had the "Breakfast of Champions" decal !!
This just simply makes me want to have a mini.Old mini please.
The James Hunt "Sex for Breakfast" replica sticker is a rare bit of motor racing heritage.
Great film.
Its great to see others that have the same love for there cars as I do. Thanks for another great video!
Regardless of our languages barriers, we all have a certain love or appreciation for good cars, no matter how old the make, we just do.
One of the best movies...!
This video is a Beautiful piece of art, as usual. Love Minis, I am very fortunate of own 2 of them
Just a man and his love for cars. Amazing and insightful.
I Love this channel, literally every video they put out is art. Fantastic job.
lovely video, nice car, Mine is a real Mk1 , January 1962. I bought it around 1967. It has been a good servant. am 19 and driving a classic Mini just like him! cheers mate for your mint Mini 😍
Beautiful, this kid reminded me of me when I bought my first car which was also a Mini...
Didn't think Petrolicious could get any better...Awesome work!
Mini still has my heart.
Really lovely story... and very well put together film. I love the editing it gives me a classic 60s vibe with shaky shots and a really nice focus on the car and driver. Stunning. :D
Elle est folle cette vidéo vivement le jours ou j'aurais une austin mini !!!!
I actually bought my mom a MINI last year (the only video I uploaded on my TH-cam) and though she loves it, I can't help but feel nostalgia towards the original models, maybe her next one!
Cars like this are exceedingly rare in the states....
Did you see the video where U.S. customs crushed an illegally imported Mini? Looks like they also crushed a 95 Skyline GT-R.
We can now import 1967 cars. A trip to Canada might be worthwhile.
every video in this channel is just.........AMAZING!!!
This is one of your best - ever.
i love that bus driver tilted steering wheel. hilarious and characterful
the cinematography is GREAT!
Not wearing his seat belt is very vintage too!
the seatbelt might just be a simple one, just maintaining the hips and not a 3 points seatbelt. I could be wrong, i don't know the mini that well
It loos like a 3 point belt to me judging by how its mounted by his shoulder.
Minis used both, early ones were more 2 points
Love this video! So much to appreciate in older cars... Made me want to go out and drive!
Guys your films are sheer class. Keep up the good week 👍
Bravo Maxime pour cette petite merveille, et très sympa le clin d'oeil à Hunt !
Thoroughly enjoyed this film, well done!
Complimenti una vera e bella passione per la mini bravo.
Wonderful story! Thank you for sharing

Beautiful. Your video gave me chills.
What?!?! This is just like my life!! And I also have a Mini!!!
Nuno TT same like me, mate!
A Beauty In Classic Automobiles, looking for my own mini too hopefully i can get one soon enough
That rear-seat multi-focus shot was awesome! Good work again guys.
would love to see the Hillman Imp featured, especially one of then sporty variants
It's the first car that I see that has the same color that my mini 1000 had. Miss him a lot.
Beautiful video, as always. Love it.
Fantastic little cars. Another great video.
Hey @Petrolicious, what is the music that starts at 2:22? :D
love this kind of videos!
AWESOME VIDEO! As usual with you guys.
seat belt kiddo !
ta ceinture garçon!
Apart that, awesome vid', as always. Love old cars, I just bought a 1983 Porsche 944, after a year with a CRX. They don't make cars like these anymore. Just like that youngster stated: recent car, no feeling, no smell, boring haha !
Beautiful! This is top notch filming and presentation.
Excellent!
What a beautifully shot video and what a lovely car!
If you're gonna go all the way with a MK1 look, at least add the the external door hinges. Besides that, brilliant!
I have a 1966 cooper s 1275 5/s :D
Mina Bekheet saliyb MK1/2 are so expensive, especially coopers! I have a mildly modified 1994 1275, and it's the love of my life
I wish I had a mini. It would be awesome to drive in a rallycross with this car. Or just plainly drive it on the road. I have always loved them, and wish I could buy one. Magnifique..
Great Video. Love your Mini.
Beautiful car ! I own a Simca 1100 TI also from 1975 !
Nice, very nice restored Mini, would have liked to hear more about the specs tough. The badge on the back says Speedwell, if this car has a such an engine it would have been worth mentioning.

i think ,this movie is best movie about mini
Of all the cars at the Monte Carlo, you chose the best.
Bravo, young man, I enjoyed your story.
Cent percent! Bon choix mon ami, Cheers.
Magnifique ta mini, prends en soin !
Perhaps too dramatic to start, this was filmed and edited so beautifully! BRAVO!
Can I be this guy please? What a great little Mini.
its such a cute and amazing car, I want one !!!
Superb mini and superb colour. Does someone know what is the colour exactly ? Between red brown and orange? They wrote bronze but I wonder What s the name of it or the code colour.. thanks.
Cool guy, cool car, amazing video. love it
great video. where exactly in northern france was this filmed? sweet cliffs
Thank you for the video, i am a Mini owner lover too :-)
