I've ordered a GTS 300 yesterday at my local dealer and I expect delivery at end of November. I hope the people in Pontedera/Italy will do a proper work.
being a lambretta rider i have to admit the build quality of the new vespa's is great, wish inocenti were still going and using modern alloys etc, the lambretta engine was screaming out for a Japanese firm (honda) to build the engines,,just think a lambretta engine built by honda..dream on dream on . .
I am using Vespa Super 150 since 1970. It is a good bike. The new vespa is quite complicated and fragile Lot of plastic parts. No spare wheel , which is a big disadvantage in south asian coutries. Safety bars are a must. .
They tried, but scrapped the design blueprints even before it was put to the first cut. Air cooled simple 2-stroke motors are now gone due to Euro 4/5 regulations, replaced with the less polluting 4-stroke CVT liquid cooled engine which ha its physical limitations imposed to the designers, something they couldn't overcome, hence we now have Primavera, Sprint and GTS/GTV all bloated, heavier and larger than their predecessors.
funny how piaggios website doesn't have anthing like this on their site, just a load of garbage pics of models on bikes. They think people who buy their bikes don't want any real info, also their manuals for bikes are pretty vague as well..they don't even give you the dry weight of the bike anymore.
+stoney mango anyway, great scooters! last year my wife and i went on a trip, 2000km in one week, through monte negro and bosnia... great and smooth ride!
The European market sells the following GTS models (all watercooled): GTS 125, GTS 250, GTS 300 The SEA market (iirc) sells the following GTS models: GTS 150 (aircooled), GTS 300 (watercooled) I believe the aircooled 150cc model is made for the SEA market to meet demands in those countries... Or in my country's case, avoid heavy taxes. They're also manufactured in Vietnam, which would cut costs when it comes to shipping them.
Vespa is nice but god damn there overpriced little bastards where i live you pay for a new Vespa naked without any extra stuff on it around 3,000 euros .... Thats about the price of a second hand car .
3000 Euros is considered cheap for the new Vespa, you won't get much at that price these days in a form of a new scooter, maybe a 50cc model. 5000 - 7000 Eur are Primaveras to GTSs...
"this scooter", "this scooter", "this scooter", "this scooter", "thats machine", "this scooter", "this scooter"... What is the point of this video? to show as how this scooter is maDe with another approach but it has no name? And what about the "how it's maKe" tittle?
I love our Vespas, my wife and both have LX's, a 50 and a 150, so much fun to ride!

these are two different models, the one with radiators is probably a gts250 liquid cooled, the 150 cc engine they install later is air cooled, so WTF
