Originally from Liverpool, me (Andrew The KnightStrider) and Laura moved to Tenerife in the Canary Islands 6 years ago, and enjoy showcasing the island and our general life as well as travelling abroad when we can!
Join us as we take a trip to a very popular Supermarket in Tenerife where we do most of our food shopping! A lot of people ask me where the best supermarkets are and which are cheapest- this is definitely one of them as if part of a chain of stores that are all over Tenerife! If you are going to Tenerife self Catering on Holiday, i would definitely recommend doing your big main shop at this Supermarket. The quality is good and the prices are cheap compared to some of the Tourist Traps!

Got to love a mercadona for food shop especially if self catering get your nice fresh rolls & crisps for the beach or just as a snack on balcony late at night most of all love the smells of all the fresh bread 🥖👍👍

I miss shopping in medcadona never thought I would,but after living in Spain for 16 years all the lovely fruit and vegetables don’t taste the same in England and Mercadonas own products are the best definitely a great supermarket

Always go to that mercadona. Croissants and fresh bread are delicious. Half a melon is always a winner there. Great vlog. Loving the music too 🥰

I love the fact you have jambon ham on the bone in the super market 👌 nothing quite like fresh sliced prosuctto, olives and a nice bread. Cool to see the orange machine, our local veg shop has one and its the nicest thing ever on a hot day.

The Spar shops in the Canaries are on a whole different level to the ones in the UK. When your over there and you go to their pick n mix bakery section and see the cakes and pastries they have on display your like wow!

We always shop in either Mercadona or Hiper Dino. Mercadona have improved so much over the years. When we 1st started shopping in Tenerife 23 years ago the quality wasn’t near as good as it is now. Great vlog. Congratulations on the new car. I got a new Hyundai Ionic 5 today. Full electric. Love it so far. xx

We found the Mercado in Orihuela really good when we went there in October. There was a Carrefour and Aldi which weren't bad. My aunt is GF and she had to look for specific products. Would definitely use Mercado again found they had a good range and liked their meat too .

Love the Mercadonas, tons of bargains, we use the one in San Eugenio or Las Chafiras. Best buy, the strawberry gin around 6 euros for 1L. We'll be in one in a few weeks time 😊

What no vino? We shopped at that Mercadona over Christmas/New Year, missing the place already. As for the Chicken, warm in the oven and enjoy with a salad washed down with a nice chilled wine wine. Fantastic.

Recently found your channel and loving your content. This video reminded me of when me and my partner came to Tenerife on holiday and thought we would go to the supermarket before seeing our apartment thinking we had a cooker and I brought a load of stuff for the oven and ended up not having one… had to try microwave everything🤣

I will be visiting this shop when I come over in May. We always go self catering due to my partners nut allergy which means we have to buy a lot of food. We usually stay in parque santiago 3 and use the shop opposite but the prices are extortionate!

I really don’t like supermarket shopping in the UK, it’s a necessary bore, but I love it when I’m abroad. Everything always looks more interesting and Spanish baguettes/rolls etc are so much nicer than here.
