Oswaldo Castillo That's the problem... they gave the Demon everything except the safety equipment to be allowed to run that fast on any track. All strips require cages, braided fuel lines etc. Once you break 150 mph a parachute becomes issue.

Manjoyt Kang How about we put it this way, this car is the top of the line challenger, back in the day a top of the line muscle car like a hemi cuda couldn't be bought by any high schooler. Dodge is bringing affordability in terms of sub 3 second 0-60 times and a sub 10 second quarter mile, anything comparable is 150k+.. So as far as we're aware a muscle car is a RWD American V8 and Dodge has brought some glory back to the name. On the other hand, if you want to see some affordable old school muscle with a V8, back seats, a manual trans and a carb go check out the camaro on our channel :)

That's not the reason at all and you know it. Dodge is just milking it, it's not like the NHRA hand picked it for any reason. The NHRA has classes, and under 10 seconds (@135+) has more strict safety requirements. e.g. window netting, roll cage, shielded lines, serialized chassis stickers, etc. It's banned because it's not safe enough for the times it's putting down. Now, could you and Dodge stop trying to play this off as some kind of "It's so bad ass and fast they won't let it compete cause it will win everything", no it's unsafe, and this ban is not a "badge of honor" it's a mark of shame for Dodge to consider selling something unsafe for the competition for which is was intended for. Now I'm not saying I dislike, or like the car. But I can't stand when people (and companies) pick and choose bits of information to tell or not tell you, in order to skew your opinion with a false representation. Shame on you Dodge.

The funny thing is that Chevy and ford fans always say how their cars can compete with many exotic cars on the track (which is a great accomplishment) but they still don't make the fastest cars around a track. There is nothing wrong with that but dodge wanted to make the fastest 1/4 mile production car and they actually did that. Manjoyt Kang How about we put it this way, this car is the top of the line challenger, back in the day a top of the line muscle car like a hemi cuda couldn't be bought by any high schooler. Dodge is bringing affordability in terms of sub 3 second 0-60 times and a sub 10 second quarter mile, anything comparable is 150k+.. So as far as we're aware a muscle car is a RWD American V8 and Dodge has brought some glory back to the name. On the other hand, if you want to see some affordable old school muscle with a V8, back seats, a manual trans and a carb go check out the camaro on our channel :)

The sad part is that Camaro was SUPPOSED to be a muscle car but Chevy decided that they wanted to compete (why?) with their Corvette, even though the Corvette is better in every aspect at what it does. Camaro and Mustang need to go back to their roots - Muscle cars, not pony/track cars. Hopefully this is a wakeup call.

That's not the reason at all and you know it. Dodge is just milking it, it's not like the NHRA hand picked it for any reason. The NHRA has classes, and under 10 seconds (@135+) has more strict safety requirements. e.g. window netting, roll cage, shielded lines, serialized chassis stickers, etc.
It's banned because it's not safe enough for the times it's putting down. Now, could you and Dodge stop trying to play this off as some kind of "It's so bad ass and fast they won't let it compete cause it will win everything", no it's unsafe, and this ban is not a "badge of honor" it's a mark of shame for Dodge to consider selling something unsafe for the competition for which is was intended for.
Now I'm not saying I dislike, or like the car. But I can't stand when people (and companies) pick and choose bits of information to tell or not tell you, in order to skew your opinion with a false representation. Shame on you Dodge.

People saying Chevrolet and Ford are dead just stop. Anybody who wants any version of the Camaro or Corvette will not be cross shopping with a SRT Demon. The cars exist for completely different reasons. Its the same with the Mustangs. That is why the man said "we are not trying to be a sports car." The Camaro and Mustang are sports cars. Even the high power Mustangs and Camaros were engineered to be sports cars. This SRT Demon is a Drag racing car from the factory without a roll cage.
Okay the hate needs to stop. I'm sick of it! This car is a work of art and engineering, whether you like to admit it or not. Name a STOCK production car that can beat this in a 1/4 mile. STOCK! Not a one-off, one-of-a-kind, special-edition, for example a Cobra-Jet Mustang, limited to just 50 units. The only stock car that might be able to beat it is the Koenigsegg One:1 (0-186 mph in 11.922 seconds) and it doesn't really qualify as a production car (7 units worldwide). Anyway, the emphasis here is super-car killer for the masses. And about it's NHRA Ban, it's because the NHRA requires you to have a roll-cage and a NHRA competition license if you run a sub 10 second 1/4 mile greater than 135 mph. Both. Even most hypercars don't come near this performance. Sure, some might argue that that's not what their built for, but it doesn't matter, they have to have massive acceleration to be competitive on a track, so why not test it in a straight line? Anyway, these performance figures would be astonishing even on a million dollar hypercar, it's just the fact that it's a production car that makes it that much better.

All of the Tesla Model S's are over $100,000, and the Hellcat starts at $62,495, both costing more than the average annual household income, and yet I see those almost everyday in SC of all states. The funny thing is that Chevy and ford fans always say how their cars can compete with many exotic cars on the track (which is a great accomplishment) but they still don't make the fastest cars around a track. There is nothing wrong with that but dodge wanted to make the fastest 1/4 mile production car and they actually did that. They aren't just competing with other car brands in that aspect, they are beating every single other car maker in that category.
