I love how all of these pieces came out! It's honestly so encouraging to watch someone figure it out with trial and error, makes me feel like I don't have to be an expert to just give something a try.
I'm so friggin happy that's how you feel!! That's exactly what I wanted from my channel! I get a lot from seeing how others problem solve instead of just being perfect or knowing exactly how to do the thing!
These are all amazing! They look store bought. You did a fantastic job! Some notes: The bunched up thread issue that you pointed out during your first project is actually something that happens with some machines (particularly Brother machines, but not just them). It’s usually caused by a tension issue with the bobbin. The fix is to wind a new bobbin and switch them out. Also, allergy season tip from someone who is allergic to everything: Neil Med now has a higher pressure sinus rinse called the Sinugator that irrigates your sinuses so much more effectively than the traditional rinse or neti pot. It’s the bias tape maker of the allergy world, lol. Oh, and PS: Mood Fabrics has a free circle skirt pattern calculator, so you don’t have to do the math yourself.
Well holy tiDDY sprinkles, this was all SO KIND and what an insane gold mine of helpful tips!! Thank you SO MUCH!! I didn't realize Mood Fabrics had such neat things on top of free patterns! You're the friggin best!
Justine, I love how you design these dresses. Handmade, crafted, and sewed. That is a lot of work. I know sometimes I have a hard time thinking how to make stuff work too. I'm also not good at math like I use to. 😢 But it doesn't mean we have to give up. We find a way. Just like you did with the patch dress skirt. It was too tight but you found way to fix it. The cute way. ☺ I love how your doggies come in and especially the sleepy one. 😂 I really love the skit shot of the room and the hocus pocus book was a great one. The patch dress reminded me of Hocus Pocus. I love Hocus Pocus. The unicorn one was good. I wish you could keep it too. You're a hard worker Justine. Keep it up. These dresses are cute and amazing. ❤ I hope to see more new ones soon. Love you! 😘💚🍀💪
Not even lying you’re my favorite creative TH-camr your energy is perfect 😭😭😭 the snarky audiobook commentary was extremely relatable 😂😂😂 what book was that I want to be snarky too 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omfg you have no idea how much this comment means to me. I'm tryin so hard over here and am feeling mighty validated now 💕 I'm so friggin happy you found me!!
And feckin hell, let me know what you think of it- The book is called "Thorn". I've been trying to start post more book reviews to my IG story and that was one of them!
Aww dude!!! You did all the work yourself. Plus you already knew how to make those pattern changes. I was just emotional support! Also, I can't believe you did four whole outfit pieces and filmed them in one week!!!!!
Wth, how can someone only be into sewing for a year and still create these magical pieces? I’m still struggling with the most basic shit and I’ve also been doing it for a year lmao.
I started sewing with corsets! The same method I use in this is what I was attempting (and still am) to perfect the entire time. I don't like corsets that have a million boning pieces in it so I just stick with 8 or so channels. I found that diving right into corsets forced me to practice multiple sewing methods all at once! Which helped a ton with the learning process
I just got back from the gym. You made the witching hour sooooooomich better. Stay crafty my friend. Also your intro after working abs 😂 I tried so hard not to giggle cuz cuz I hurt. Thank you for making me burn off a few more calories from laughing. The comedy in your videos is amazing to. Your smile threwout the whole video so happy and giddy. Keep slaying you beautiful buff buddy you!!!!!
Aaahahahaaa laughing after a difficult core workout is the worst!!! I'm so proud of yous though and grateful to have you here, always leaving messages that make me smile!
@@RedsReferences thank you im proud of myself lately. And thank you its a privilege to be here my friend. me and my gym buddy always laugh working out. I keep it entertaining. Like we cannot keep straight faces. Ugh I'm dead dead after tonights workout. LEG DAYS SUUUUUUUCKS THAT IS ALL! Hope your weekend was amazing lady red.
Goodness me, Justine! Yer an outfit makin' machine!! The corset and the dress both came out so freakin' well, and I loved the wee doodles and diagrams you made too, they're always super handy and informative! And sure ye made a wee mistake or two, but mistakes are the best teachers, and it's how we learn to be better in whatever skills we take our hand to! Thank you for gracing us with another awesome video, and I'm lookin' forward to the wee Q&A in the next video, too! And allergies are the freakin' worst, I propose we ban Summer or something, you get ear infections and I get conjunctivitis thanks to this dumb season, we need Autumn. Also, OTIS!!! You weren't exaggerating about the floof levels on that pup, that's MAXIMUM floof right there! P.S, I absolutely love your glasses, big glasses club members like us reign supreme!
Oh my goodness thank you!! Being so new to this platform I'm always super nervous about editing, timing, lengthy videos and more. I appreciate your feedback more than you know!
That time of the year when the dang trees are getting all frisky with each other. I feel you. This was a fantastic collaboration. Well. Done. You both do lovely work. The reveal and the final outfits was wonderful. Can't pick a favorite. I love how you keep refining the corset design with each make. Hm. Questions... How did an artist end up in a backwoods cabin? What other collaborations have you done? What's your training / slash / what other mediums do you work in? How'd you learn to sew? - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
@@RedsReferences *Smooch* You're a gem, yourself, Kiddo... and you might finally coax me into doing, du, duh, duuuh... sit-ups. LOL. By-the-by - Since your power depends on trees not falling down... have you thought of starting a search for a hand-crank Singer? I type as an owner of a 1915 hand-crank Singer 99K and a Featherweight. And a Sew Handy from the 30's so I can take the wee little chain-stitching wonder with me to coffee shops... and that's all the sewing machines I'm allowing myself. Anyways. The hand cranks are built like tanks - they will take anything you can throw at them, including thinner leather and heavy canvas. The Grannies did not futz around with this stuff. Highly recommend.
That was a LOT to do in a week! but you pulled it off and they look amazing! Mistakes were made but no one notices our mistakes as much as we do (something I have to remind myself a lot🙈) Your love affair bit with the bias tape maker made me giggle. As always I look forward to your next video...in two weeks (she says skeptically😆)
Bro being able to go to you at any time too is fecking amazing for me. I love getting updates on your projects and hearing your thoughts on mine!! You keep doing exactly what I did and I just couldn't keep up with how much sewing you do! *How's jacket pops into my head*
if the unicorn horn still bothers you and acrylic painting isn't so forgiving, may I suggest something? Try shaping it with embroidery, if you don't like it a shape razor is always an option for disposal.
I've been trying to talk myself into doing something like this with a bedsheet I really like the design of, but would rather have as a dress. I don't even have a sewing machine, I'd be doing it all by hand. Luckily my laziness is outpacing my impulsive daydreaming so far
Do it!!! I have many bedsheet dresses at thus point (I am sewing a duvet cover dress as I watch this video actually...). They are the softest, most comfortable dresses I own!
Omfg yeah sewing by hand sounds like my worst nightmare. This sewing machine was close to $230 on Amazon. It was partially a gift from someone and so far I've enjoyed working with it!
I come to conclusion that I have such craving to make myself an "Heathen Gnome" outfit. Gossip Goblin's Swedish Gnome, Fredvog, is my role-model and the happiness battery charger. Oh I forgot mention it: You're also one of my happiness battery chargers too! Thank you Justine! ❤❤
Just found your channel, your energy is so nice and funny. I love the part where your listening to an audiobook thats actively really annoying you but still feeling the obligation to finish it 😂
Ahh!! Hi!!! Welcome and thank you! The majority of my "creative process" is me listening to a new audiobook and immediately going back to my classics if I feel like jumping off that metaphorical bridge 🤌 I did my best with that one but ho-boy. I had to tap out
Yee! I just dove right into doing stupid hard stuff like corsets so I could practice multiple things at once. It's been frustrating but I've learned things a little quicker that way!
New sub! Soooooo happy that I found you!!!!!! I, too, loathe summer, and yes, my personality is autumn and winter, so you, my friend, are not alone. Especially with the F'ing allergies!!!!! You are an amazing, beautiful, talented person, and I am looking forward to more creations!! 🤎🖤

You give me the vibe of the cool English teacher that everyone loves. Also, did you do theatre at some point?
