- TTArtisan is one of the few 3rd party lens companies that make vintage style lenses with character, 3D pop, micro contrast and soul. They are Leica, Zeiss and Voigtlander territory. Let's see if this 75mm f2 for Sony or Nikon has got that soul. TTArtisan sent me the lens to review for free.

Viltrox 40mm t2.5 may not have all the pop, but it seems like it may complement this lens for portability and cost. Would be a neat duo.

Try the samyang 75 smaller better
The b-roll with the green lighting on the lens was powerful. It has influenced me to consider this lens.

One of my absolute favorites as well. Very dreamy wide open, but stopped down it’s also gorgeous.
I've had that lens for a few years now and will never sell it.

It's crazy good for the price. Idk if it was just the camera or the lens or the editing but the street shots this time looked a little flat in terms of color. The nikon does make your face looks slightly more red. But the sony made you look pale. Idk . Smash them together. 😂
Just let it slide as Nikon just acquired RED.

Personally, I would say the Nikon taking the time to focus on the lens was not a negative thing. It added a sense of suspense and drama to the video. For a few tense seconds we are all engrossed in the moment. Will the Nikon ruin the scene and refuse to focus on the lens? Will it make Casey look like a second rate creator who thinks he's so cool with his stupid slow motion eletctric scooter street videography bullshi... sorry.... Or will the glorious Nikon fulfill its destiny and focus just in time to save its user's credibility? The sony just focuses boringly quick and accurately undramatic. That TTArtisan 75mm lens he mentioned in the video looked like it could be cool too. I'd really like to grab one. For Z mount of course.
When I take a proper photo, I want it to be overly sharp for the architecture, macro, scientific, archive pictures etc (even portraits sometimes!). When someone says "overly sharp" with a curled lip I write down the name of the lens!
I think it has some 3d pop, not voigtlander but still. About zeiss i guess.

For less than US $200 it's great. It does produce good separation for that coveted 3D pop. Perjaps too bulky for candid photography, IMO.
You'll need to trick that lens into popping. Close to subject, far from background and wide open. Some lenses pop without even trying... that one you will have to think about what you are doing all the time.
I'm a big manual ttartisans fan, for aps-c anyway. But will their lenses work as well on m43? We'll find out next week...
Love your videos! See if they’ll send you their 90mm f1.25 lens. It’s manual focus and dreamy AF! Love playing with that lens.
The look very alike my Samyang 75mm 1.8, I guess the internal design will be quite similar.

Are you sure that "left - infinity, right - macro" is the standard way most focus rings go and not the other way around?
It's the way Sony lenses are and what I'm used to.

TTartisan is really scratching my GAS with their vintage optic quality and price. They are all so tempting. I have set of 17mmf1.4 25mmf2 35mm1.4 50mmf2 50mmf1.4 with different mount from Canon M, Sony E, M43, and FujiX, I can swap the mount from lens to lens (M43 need a thin layer of washer)

Have you ever tested the tamron 35-150mm for Z-mount? I'd love to see your opinion about that lens as most channels hail it as one of the best zoom lenses available for most people that are not doing wildlife
