I'm an active user on xhs. Before that misty invasion event, we were already experiencing multiple reports from unknown users. There was a time when all of Xavier's posts even arts were reported and taken down

that's crazy, people have way too much time on their hands lmao. did you know that in CN prior to sylus release, toxic fans of the other LIs were planning on "cancelling" him? they wanted his banner to fail (which didn't happen) and for a while he was considered a "black topic" in some CN social media platforms (meaning a controversial topic). the lengths people go for their love interest over there is crazy.
Its a whole different kettle of fish in the CN community!

Yeah! They did so by actively encouraging players in the respective LI fanbases to boycott Sylus banner and not spend a cent on the in-game shop (e.g. promise, monthly pass). Jul ended up doing so well despite the mass cancellation by toxics.

Wooooow!!! Really? This was really hard to listen to. I thought the girlies of our community were supportive of all of the guys. Yes, most of us have a bias, but we generally love all of them. Xavier in my opinion, gets better content in his cards and relationship with MC, followed quickly by Sylus. I can acknowledge this and still wholeheartedly be a Zayne girlie. I just show as much support to all of the Zayne content I can to support my favorite LI. I understand the girlies who get absorbed into the game, as I am one of them, but I also am fully (and at time painfully) aware that these guys are not real (no matter how much we wish they were). I hope the positive outweighs negative in our community and fandom, and look forward to more amazing content with this game that I love! Thank you for covering this, as well as all of the LaDS content that you do. I enjoy your videos a lot. 😊❤️

I'm not Xavier's gurlie but I don't hate him. I just love all of them equally. I'm not attracted to him but he's still that lovable little bunny I like to interact with because he's sweet (and freaky) 😂 I hope they don't criticize him character just because they DON'T like him. As a Xavier & Sylus gurlie, it hurts to see this. This situation happened to both of them and it even extends to content creators / artist works being mass reported & subsequently taken down. Most recently, today, a LED showcase fan funded screening for Sylus in China also received mass reporting by toxics in the community. This resulted in the mall organisers taking down the screening.

Actually, the misty invasion pv of Xavier/Sylus both got cancelled several time on CN official platform simultaneously because all four side of girle thinks other characters should be taken down. There were screenshots of zayne girles "pretend" to be Sylus girles and try to cancel Xavier's PV, and then Xavier girles starts cancelling Sylus PV...that's how the loop started. This all sorta happened in August, currently there's a NEW dilemma between fandom vs. Sylus because now more straight guy is cosplaying Sylus (and their content got more exposure by placing a #Sylus tag) which upset them due to previous sexual assault in cosplay date so straight guy can't cosplay date any otome male characters become the new norm which results one of a straight guy with good Sylus cosplay got cancelled and the cosplayer almost had to issue an attorney letter demanding for an apology...

It's creeping into global to be honest but you won't notice the shades done by other stans that much unless you know the issues that happened in the fb group before. Sure people have their own preferences but if they hate on someone without any valid reason (especially Xav), I'll fight tooth and nail even if it gets me banned. If they can easily hate on a fictional character then they probably do that a lot to real people in real life.

I don't understand it, I can't and don't want to understand it. >,,< I love this game. I like Xavier, I like Rafayel and I like Zayne but I love Sylus. But I still like playing the other three just as much. Each of them has their own individual character and that's a good thing. And it's fun to get to know each of them and then give your devotion to the one you prefer.

I think they have seen:
▪︎ the worst that mental illness has to offer,
▪︎ that there's far too many of them in their spaces now (even if they're the minority of the overall player population),
▪︎ and that some of these fans are beyond saving.
I think they're backed into a corner like Hoyoverse: where they're having to choose between exerting their efforts towards managing the community, versus ignoring it to maintain good vibes at the office and earn revenue.
Managing the insane requires monitoring all the crazy things that they do. Imagine having to see that type of behavior everyday at such an extremely large scale.
Even if it's not every player partaking in those toxic activities, it can cause the devs to develop negative feelings towards their own playerbase and game over time.
I mean, let's be real: *the devs are people too.*
A bunch of troublemakers mass reported their video, which
(1) hurts their ability to market the characters properly on social media,
and (2) gives players a negative experience with their brand. If someone was curious about joining the community and playing the game, this is an event that'd make them think twice about it.
❗️ This is what happened to Genshin Impact. The game has its issues, but the biggest reason why so many people hate on the game and distance themselves from it is because of the toxic community surrounding it. It severely damaged the brand on a global scale. The actual flaws of the game are just the icing on the cake.
💡 Brand is extremely important; not just the product.
And it's really disappointing that "super fans" want their game to be at the top of revenue charts and have tons of money to make the devs put more effort into the product, merch, and offline events. And yet, they effectively ruin that by doing bad PR. They're literally making the game and brand look bad to potential new players and new income.
They're extremely selfish and they don't think ahead. And quite frankly, perhaps they're too far gone in the noggin to care.

As someone who plays for a long time, this kind of toxicity is only found in chinese apps (douyin, xhs, etc) where the cn fandom is, i rarely found this kind of toxicity in international fandom... in my opinion though.

Cancelling Xavier,among others is ridiculous all because pathetic childish bullying haters seriously its a game some characters are liked others disliked but that's no reason to cancel them.if you don't like a playable character and the game gives you the option don't play them and don't hate or spread hate its a game play it if you enjoy it and it you get to play who you want all the better.same goes for people who dislike sylus or other characters ITS A GAME STOP THE HATE no need to cancel fan billboards unless they are hateful spiteful or rude and no need to cancel characters because of the hate please keep the peace and play the characters you like if you can or don't play or if possible ask the game makers to give you the option to choose who you want to play hope the hate and cancelling of characters stops and only billboards of nasty people get shut down.i will possibly be adding the game to my phone or other devices to see what it's like oh by the way I like most of the characters (seen in TH-cam clips) my favourite has to be Zayne ❤😊 take care all never hate or let it win or beat you down
This is some kpop level shit XD I think this is happening bc the main story gets rarely updated so people are just not caring or having empathy towards the other male leads. You know how it is the haters are the most jobless people. Example I saw pll hating on Rafayel saying he has more banners he is favorite what not...When he got to kiss MC last out of the 3 before Sylus came like...The devs make things fair but they cant make a predictable schedule bc that is loss in revenue from pll whou could have spent but didnt bc they know their fave is coming. People need to stop counting cards and keeping scores. The devs know whats best its in their interest to make all leads intersting and provide content with them. We should also not spread these stuff bc some people might hold grudges and just join the toxicity like how it is with KPOP.
