When you have a close fit between the exhaust and the plug you can use a tubing wrench to lossen and tighten the spark plug. You are missing the wire hold down that goes on the distributor.
Your videos are very helpful. I have a 1989 suburban with 350 and I got a lot of great info from you...friendly tip, turn down the music and turn your voice up. You're soft spoken and the music blasts inbetween you talking...aside from that your videos are easy to follow and I get great value out of what you're teaching. liked and subscribed!
Thank you! Actually, I am from the Netherlands (Europe)! But it rains a lot over here as well lol, and lots of salt on the roads in the winter. I’ll take you not noticing my Dutch accent as a compliment! :D
@@WrenchAtHome I did notice the accent but I’m from Kentucky so I’m sure I have one as well. I’m working on my Black 76 Step Side. It’s coming together. Thanks for your helpful videos
You can see later on in the video she started right up! My distributor is rotated a bit, but my wires are not 180 degrees off, more like 10 or 20. Plug wire 1 should ‘point’ to spark plug 1, mine is pointed more to plug 3 or 5. I didn’t touch the distributor yet because the engine already ran great, so I just hooked the wires back up in the same position they were in. Distributor was already like this when I bought the truck. I will pull the distributor and retime the engine sometime in the future and put it all back in straight, but for now she runs just fine! Thank you for watching!
Where were the AC spark plugs made? I ordered a set of AC R43 plugs from Summit and they were marked "Made in China." There is no way I am going to install Chinese plugs into my classic 1970 Corvette, so I returned them to Summit and went to an O'Reilly's and bought some NGKs. They work great and NGKs are all I use in my classic cars.
Thanks for the info! The firing order I mentioned is for (most) regular old Chevy small blocks. You should always check the firing order of your own engine before attempting anything like this.
Every little bit counts, and I like the look! If I really want peak power I should rebuild the old block and replace the 3-speed auto gearbox, but that's not really the direction I wan't to go with this truck right now. Thank you for watching!
Please Don't use Music it terrible and distracting. I missed a lot of what you was saying because I had to keep turning off the sound.. Thank you for the video.

Get a spark plug socket with a hex head and put a wrench on it to loosen, way easier than messing with header and gaskets
I use an offset box end wrench same plug location.
Do you cover how to paint your break booster?
That's not something I'm planning to do as of now, but who knows in the future.

Nice square body Chevy. Can tell you’re in the north the rust on the bolts and everything lol

You’re very welcome, good luck with your project!
The spark plug wires are backwards! The pre installed boot goes to the spark plug.
Nice truck 😎

Thanks man I appreciate it. Love the 57 Bel Air!
iam guessing as you installed the wires 180° off but it runs

Man...I have learnt a lot from you watching your videos. Thanks for sharing
Thanks, that means a lot! Thank you for watching!
What kind of grill is that
I don’t know tbh, it was already on the truck when I bought it.. It’s chrome bars all the way.
That's called a tube grill. Mine is a phantom grill on my 82. It covers the headlights as well
Thanks so much
Invest in a 5/8" pass through socket you'll never have to remove a header again.
Great tip, thank you! And thanks for watching!

Firing order for LHD vehicles not right for Australia or right hand drive country’s
Thanks for the info! The firing order I mentioned is for (most) regular old Chevy small blocks. You should always check the firing order of your own engine before attempting anything like this.
The flat back boots go on the cap not the plugs.
Only 10 hp gain with Headers
