That's great and all, but how do you even get them to do the jump to candlestick. I've been trying to get my tumblers to do that for a year now and they still don't look like the girls in the video. That drill is harder than the actual layout. LOL!
Meg M hey I know this is an old comment but this has helped me with kids that don’t understand how to jump to the candlestick shape: I have them lay on their back (arms by ears, feet together) and lift their butt off the floor. Then I just lift their feet (not super slow but not fast either) and challenge them to hold that flat hips shape. I have them go all the way up to a candlestick and then I lower the feet back down to the ground (they are still lifting hips the whole time). Then with the jump back I tell them to remember that same hip lifting action as they jump back. It’s a quick little mini drill that has helped some of my more stubborn pikey ones- it’s hard to explain it in words lol but hopefully it’ll be helpful to you or anyone reading this!
georgert off of your hands you want to snap your chest in and up and get your hips over the top and under efficiently and short. You would only snap long for a triple twist! I hope that helps
Those clean moves and maintaining the figure is what makes gymnastics special.
Fantastic
Wow Awesome 👏
This video was very helpful
Thanks

Thanks so much for posting all the great drills. What specifically do you mean when you say "short snap"?

Can this drill be used for learning roundoff back handspring back tuck as well?
kimberly ashley ya for the first and second one just tuck your body then do a tuck instead of a layout
I need a private class...
