Cause he was offered a "sitcom" the dream job of all comedians. Hoping hes successful lol, considering TV is dying out, I would think this "news" show would be way better cause people have acess to compared to generic tv shows..

Cruelty and stupidity. We claim to be superior to other animals yet believe in fairytales about a man who rode to heaven on a horse or another man who was dead for days and then .... vanished. Or what about the one about reincarnation? That one might, be true as many people have described a bright white light during near death experiences. Unfortunately they where only being reincarnated as a moth.
Normally I can't stand people who whine about deer, hog or bird hunters or eating fish and meat but watching them throw that finless shark back to sink to the bottom of the ocean made me want to throw up and cry..

And there’s north american passenger pigeon, which used to migrate across Mexico to Canada covering the sky. There were 5 billions of them, but now they just went extinct since the arrival of Europeans for cheap meat. The list goes on and on the point is humans are all good at wiping out other species, be it Asians or Europeans. Advanced civilizations are especially talented in this

@@jamesrogers6779 That ain't completely true. It is more of a myth. Although some do but not all do. The main reason is that they lack bladder which keep fish buoyant but sharks lack these hence need to keep swimming in order to stay buoyant

this is interesting, I first agreed with zizinnnn, Since I live where good accessible education lacks and I see many people taking poor laboral decisions just to come by their day to day needs.
On the otherhand China is actually the one country that has the infrastructure and social aspiration capable of managing exactly such issues.

When you kill an animal, you take away all that it has, and all it is ever going to have. So why wouldn't you want to kill it as quickly and painlessly as possible? .. As just a small token of appreciation?
And the fin isn't the only valuable part of the shark. I have seen restaurants making a big deal about offering shark meat, so it has to be worth something.? Hmm. :/

Yeah, but to these people, it is like mining for gold and coming across some iron ore with the gold. They have small boats, and the very small, light fins will bring in as much or more than the rest of the shark, so they don't want to load their boats down with just a few whole sharks, when they could get many, many fins instead. It is disgusting, but that's unregulated capitalism for you!

If Jim himself wants to stop doing the show, that's fine. Any other reason, please find a way to work it out, this show has a demand.
Ugh, this PISSES ME OFF!!! I’ve seen the poor sharks just spinning and spinning without their dorsal and pectoral fins!!! It’s f*cking DISGUSTING!!! Can you imagine having your arms and legs cut off and then someone just leaves you on a sidewalk?!?

I come back to this show every now and then and wonder, how the hell was this cancelled? It was great!

The footage of the cage breaking: nobody got hurt and neither did the shark. The blood comes from the food the shark was eating.

Nope, that was actually the sharks blood. The people on the boat reported seeing the shark sink to the bottom likely dying of its injuries.

that not why/how his show got canceled, it seem he canceled the show to go for abc sitcom.

plus that story is kinda BS or at least are out of context, few right wing fake outrage viewer on YT doesn't mean rating fall (7.2/10).
although Jim didn't manage to get as much attraction as much as other talk shows, his style is dark and edgy (tho i liked that).
How psychopathic are those people to cut off a body part like that while it's struggling in pain, giving it a slow death. Imagine how long the millions of sharks painfully lie on the sea beds with their lives slowly draining

I’m fascinated with sharks. So fascinated that my favorite animal is the Great White and I want to become a Marine Biologist. It’s disgusting that humans have done this. I’m a 7th grader currently and I really hope none of these magnificent animals go extinct before I get the chance to help save them.

In Hong Kong we actually have a dish called shark fin soup that you can buy in stalls. It costs like 2USD, difference is that we replace the fin with rice noodles. AND IT TASTES THE EXACT SAME
Those scenes of the fin-less sharks being kicked overboard and left to suffer a slow death are SO F**KED UP. This is another good example of why our species has maybe 100 years left on this planet.

As a native montanan, I think our lack of finning regulations is not a terribly huge problem, seeing as we are about 500 miles away from the nearest ocean.

People have mentioned this, but that footage of the cage diving incident, not only was nobody actually killed, but the cruise that was in control of that service had broken tons of cave diving safety measures. So it's not accurate to even show that as like all cage divings.
I'm not trying to say this as a gotcha or anything, I love this show and this episode, and I just wanted to share that since we already got so much cultural fear about sharks going around.
Actually there haven't been sharks spotted in Cape Town over the last summer nor this year yet.
