@S H Once warriors get that kinda gear... it's a totally different game though. Their gear scaling is CRAZY good... but yea... normal raid ready geared warriors have almost no hope in pvp. But at that gear level, it's hard not to win.
Is the goal to test how geared each player is or the pvp skills they have? Duel naked (plus weapons), caster vs caster, melee vs melee. Use the same exact weapons, cheap as possible. No bandages, no food, no trinkets. If you want to test skills

Some people, especially achievement driven competition junkies, don't much care or are even motivated by such harsh critique. The atmosphere was actually pretty thrilling if you're fairly hardcore.

asmon is just not that bad at pvp tbh. i don't even like the dude but he generally knows what he's doing. the guys he's dueling are trash though. and like... some of the mages and hunters chose to duel his warlock with 4.5k health. don't make too much sense. if he actually double sac'd his warlock it would take 2 AS crits on a hunter just to get him to base health and it's almost impossible to get 2 AS on a lock in general. not his fault that they're bad.

To be fair when he makes contact with anyone he chops like 50%+ of their health off in his first hit cos of his gear. Not the best scenario to be testing people
Couple points. He clearly has far better gear, which makes a massive difference. Locks destroy almost everything in PVP... I think Asmon wanted to go lock vs mage because it made him look better. Its a braindead hard counter.
I would evaluate them based on how well they perform in a duel or dungeon because you vastly overgear them. Obviously based on the video they aren't very good at PvP but maybe they can PvE. If you just want the better players though it makes sense. I liked when they introduced Guild levels and you could see how much each individual contributed each week.
Fast forward to 2024 and this version of Asmon has disappeared entirely. Having fun, and being entertaining. Now he just reacts to non-real-world dramas.

This is painful to watch frost mage getting beaten by a warrior at level 60. I used to destroy warriors naked with my frost mage in classic wow. You just need to kite them and not waste your cooldowns out of panic. Back then, the only real problem mage had was going out of mana after 2 kills.

If he was really interested in measuring the abilities versus others, he would set a maximum gear level for the duels instead of being armed to the teeth. Alright fair is fair, I know that he did not accept buffs or use all of the abilities at his disposal.
Letting mages duel his warrior is a bit cheap :) Any mage with a lick of sense can beat a warrior. I get that may be unfair to those who started playing mage in TBC Classic, but when you've played mage for thousands of hours since vanilla it's hard to forget how OP you were to warriors even back then.

I understand that he’s SL lock (which is already extremely hard matchup for mage) and even giving himself a massive disadvantage by not using coil or sac.. SL lock is still for dummies and can solo anyone fairly ez..

Against his warrior people have more than 50% of winrate and against his lock less than 40% off winrate and he literally told them "you can choose wich of my 2 classes i should use" and of corse they choose lock, do most people in olympus have an actual brain to succesfuly decide the correct decision?
Plus warriors are just god awful at dueling and mages should never ever EVER lose to a warrior. You mount up, jump his charge and nova. Force an intercept and you blink out of it. Boom, there is no way for a warrior to catch you after that. You just keep him in combat and stay out of fear range. Rank 1 frostbolt if needed otherwise just fireblast. Once you got frost nova you burst him. Your blink has a lower CD than his intercept so therefore in theory he can not catch you.
Silly concept, obviously sand where it doesn’t belong from losing so much against the horde and lashing out. Yes, a lot of them are bad at duels, but why should that dictate if you can remain in a pve guild. Also, it must be so much fun ridiculing people that have half of your hp because they’re in blues and greens, when you 2-shot them. Hell, so many of their attacks were just missing completely... Best part is expecting healers to beat you.

This is painful to watch frost mage getting beaten by a warrior at level 60. I used to destroy warriors naked with my frost mage in classic wow. You just need to kite them and not waste your cooldowns out of panic. Back then, the only real problem mage had was going out of mana after 2 kills.
Well if they can't make a duel ring to give space to the duelers I doubt they have the IQ to duel properly

Letting mages duel his warrior is a bit cheap :) Any mage with a lick of sense can beat a warrior.
I get that may be unfair to those who started playing mage in TBC Classic, but when you've played mage for thousands of hours since vanilla it's hard to forget how OP you were to warriors even back then.

Organize training, all the ones that did bad should follow that for a month. If they still don't improve after that then they deserve to be kicked
I understand that he’s SL lock (which is already extremely hard matchup for mage) and even giving himself a massive disadvantage by not using coil or sac.. SL lock is still for dummies and can solo anyone fairly ez..

Against his warrior people have more than 50% of winrate and against his lock less than 40% off winrate and he literally told them "you can choose wich of my 2 classes i should use" and of corse they choose lock, do most people in olympus have an actual brain to succesfuly decide the correct decision?
Plus warriors are just god awful at dueling and mages should never ever EVER lose to a warrior. You mount up, jump his charge and nova. Force an intercept and you blink out of it. Boom, there is no way for a warrior to catch you after that. You just keep him in combat and stay out of fear range. Rank 1 frostbolt if needed otherwise just fireblast. Once you got frost nova you burst him. Your blink has a lower CD than his intercept so therefore in theory he can not catch you.
Ok, now do the same thing without having 50x better gear than everyone you dueled and see how many you can demote that way :D
Silly concept, obviously sand where it doesn’t belong from losing so much against the horde and lashing out. Yes, a lot of them are bad at duels, but why should that dictate if you can remain in a pve guild. Also, it must be so much fun ridiculing people that have half of your hp because they’re in blues and greens, when you 2-shot them. Hell, so many of their attacks were just missing completely... Best part is expecting healers to beat you.

Because you can easily spend 6 hours running a dungeon just to keep wiping to the same stuff. And the people doing it just say I just started, chill. Or have played for forever and still oblivious. It's frustrating

A couple of mages never sheeped. A hunter deadzoned himself and ran into melee range of a warrior to pop a shitty poison.
