If the issue is at the Pinnacles Bridge, would a simple boat ferry--be a method of transporting *people who are cut-off? Lake Fork ramp seems to be an off-loading option, but it would be approximately a 4-mile boat trip...

It would take $$$$ & TIME to construct loading - unloading docking facilities for an automobile ferry & getting a large ferry shuttle from somewhere at an astronomical cost of rental, operation, fueling facilities for temporary facilities. Additionally, heavy semi truck traffic would still be forced to travel whatever detour routes are established. All this additional expense on top of bridge repair. I don’t travel those routes so don’t have a dog in this race. I guess taking a bit of the many millions for a ferry service & spending it on OT to hasten reopening the bridge would cost less. And I do have a bit in that as it’s all our tax $$$ going for infrastructure maintenance & repair.
