I thought it was hilarious when the audience found out these were all illusions because any comic book fan knew they were going to be when they released this movie.

Theory Time:
Beck and his company should have just gone into making realistic movies and locations instead of framing heroes while having revenge. Then the illusion technology wouldn't be seen as BARF. To be used as something profitable and less villainous.
I'm no tech expert but Beck chose the wrong path in this Marvel timeline. Makes me wonder what version of him in What If would have gone the other routes.
I can just picture a non-canon version of him that wields actual magic. Also to make remarks about this MCU version of him doing this to the kid. Framing Spiderman and getting people hurt in the process.
Then again that's a fan theory.

@@BATMEN.-cl7mw no way the drones ate damaging the surroundings because mysterio gets edith way later and he gets to control the drones, also the drones only shoot bullets
I think he has some drones (not all the drones from Edith) that have weapons and shoot the surroundings at the right time. Also they must have water jets on them to get the people and surroundings wet.
Edit: marvel wiki says he has drones before getting Edith just not enough to make a villian the size of the last one.
