At another dojo i visit, a similar situation occures to the first question, but this is outside Japan. But what happens is that the sensei gives instructions and alot of the lower dan players seem to just interperate the instructions however they want. where i get uncomfortable is that i'm only a high Kyu rank and i want to try to follow sensei's instructions as accurately as i can, but i follow along because i don't want an arguement or to seem rude to sempai.
Seen it as well, I follow what the sensei says, because as we move down I am going to end up in front of sensei before too long and not doing what he asked would be rude.
In regard the low ptich shouting question: I just remembered that Takeshita (was in the semi final in the last All Japan, that lost to Maeda I guess), has a very hight pitch voice, almost like a girl and this does not make any difference. They are just like that and that´s nothing wrong with it right?
Hi Fisher Sensei, Thank you for the video on the upcoming 8th Dan championships. Where does one go to watch Kendo? Is it on regular TV back in Japan, like on NHK or Fuji TV? I presume you watch major tournaments via some internet steam. Before internet streams, how did people watch or follow Kendo?
Hi Andy. I've been really enjoying watching your videos since I started Kendo recently. I was wondering what your thoughts were on personalised zekken. I've seen that some clubs have their club logo or "emblem" on the zekken, but I was wondering what it would be like to have your own individual zekken which you put a logo or "emblem", like your own unique symbol. I hope I've made myself clear and thanks for any responses.
Hi Fisher Sensei, Is there betting for major Kendo championships available in the UK? I don't live in the UK, so I'm unfortunately blocked from accessing William Hill's UK website and determining the answer for myself. I read that betting is pretty restricted in Japan whereas the UK has betting markets on many global sports and even on elections. Thus I wouldn't be surprised if one could be able to bet on Kendo championships in the UK, but ironically not in Japan. I ask because my family will be in the UK around the time of the All Japan tournament, and my wife's relatives live around the corner from a William Hill.
