Brian May asked Rory how he gets his sound when he went backstage at a gig. Treble booster (Rangemaster) into Vox AC30 was Rory's tip. So you could say that the Queen sound derived from the advice given that night. There is a tenuous link there, and I enjoyed the Queen tribute band, very brave to do the operatic section, I think they pulled it off and the crowd loved it.
