    I love how Brian isn't riding something sensible like a bull or a horse. It's a frickin' armadillo looking thing.

    I loved how slow copperfield did it. The time delay made it seem like they were slowly melting through. Most people do this so fast.

    Michael would be proud of they way you taught this! I've been doing this for years and it has never failed me. I never knew Michael was involved with this I always gave credit to David Copperfield so it is nice to correct that part of the trick. Thanks for the knowledge!

  • @simonnading
    @simonnading 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thank you for hunting down the history. I actually learned this from watching my dad repeating the trick after we watched the Copperfield special. He had me on his lap while he was showing other people, not at all trying to teach me. It's the first trick I ever figured out on my own, and even with knowing how it works, it still looks real. Thanks again.

    My best friend, when I first started learning magic, told me that his grandfather used to do a trick where he'd unlink linked rubber bands like this, and I found one that had a similar method but didn't include anything for provers or misdirection, and with these moves I am sure I can make it look good and do his granddad proud.

    Thank you Brian, an excellent video! I was so fortunate to learn this directly from Michael at a special work shop following a lecture at Gary Darwin's magic club while I was working as a dealer in Las Vegas...that's dice dealer, just to clear things up a bit! Along with Ring Bandit, which he also taught at the same work shop, I have performed this more than any other slight in my 60 years of performing. Michael is one of the most prolific magi of this era and many past...Once again, thank you for this homage to the Master...All the Best!

    Brian! This was awesome, so great to see credit given where it's due! Ammar is the man! Also, I don't remember who created this subtlety, but you can demonstrate a really cool illusion after the move, where it looks as if you pluck out the rubber band one side at a time (totaling four) and it's visually pretty darn sweet. All best dude!

    sir, there is a follow up for that trick, i always do it, if your using same color rubberband, after doing crazy man's handcuffs, hide 1 piece of rubber band, then fold the remaining rband to a position where it looks exactly like using 2 rbands,to make specs think your doing the same thing. then, stretch it like normal, but the ending, you'll squeeze it and reveal to them 1 rband disappeared. wanted to make a vid, but idk how to comment vid :D

    The first time I learned the effect it was before Copperfield performed it on tv. But the old version wasn't as good because at the end the band switched to the middle finger.
