  • First start of the year for this Italian built Landidni semi-diesel, one cylinder tractor. These unique crude oil tractors use pre-heat in the form of a torch on the cylinder head to get themselves going initially, becoming self sustaining once the engine is running. These engine are renowned the world over for their simplicity and ruggedness.

If everything in this world wasn't all hell bent on making money more than growing crops to help a world feed a world, simple design and efficient things like this could still be in use today to do it.

Look up how efficient a hot bulb engine is......

@@wildman510 No matter what fuel you're burning, do you want to turn 12% of your fuel to work, or 30-50%? That means you're burning less than half the fuel. That's why hot bulbs aren't in common use anymore.

effeciency is not what makes this engine great, it's just a well built, low compression single cylinder motor. being 2 stroke is a bonus.

What's the displacement of this engine? Maximum RPM? Horsepower? I love the sound of these engines.

These big one cylinders made roughly 45hp at 720rpm’s from their 9.5L displacement. The hot bulb design was never known for being particularly high horsepower but they develop immense torque even at low revs.
