Recommendations that I see that have a lot of female fans for your wife and friend are: Sword of kaigen, Babel, Greenebone saga, Red Rising. My personal pick if I were to get a female friend into reading what I like would be sword of kaigen. One book, female author, female protagonist, unfortunately no sex scenes. Hope this helps Matt.
check out one dark window. It’s a woman author and has romance and is pretty dark. The magic system is pretty cool and the world reminds me a little of the eleventh cycle.
Hi, Philip's brother here. Thanks for featuring his book! Its a really good note there, about the missing blurb, maybe he can include it in later editions - I never read those so I didn't notice it myself 🤣 All the funky fonts and illustrations were all made by him, so if it has a generally unique vibe, that's why... Regarding the font size, would you consider that to be an issue from an accessibility issue? Naturally adjusting it would require reformatting the entire book (increasing page count and probably cost), but it would be good to keep an eye on feedback regarding that.
Speaking as a woman who doesn't normally like epic fantasy (re:swords, battles, etc), I looooved The Will of the Many, Age of Myth, and The Justice of Kings.
Gracias Matt!!! Audio en español! Siempre te he escuchado en el idioma original pero la decisión de incorporar audio en otros idiomas es super acertada y nos permite no perdermos detalles de tus reviews.
For the book you read with wife and friend -- from what you described of what you're going for, I agree Jade City is a good idea. I just read it (on Legacy now) and loved it, and it absolutely has some sex. Not much, but a lot more than most of the fantasy we read. And yes, the author being a woman surely gets you brownie points lol
You may have already covered this in an earlier video, but any plans to read the new Dungeon Crawler Carl book soon? Can’t remember which book you most recently read.
I just read Rhythm of War and I completely agree that it’s better than Oathbringer. I was honestly shocked because people kept telling me before I read it that it was the worst in the series but I just don’t agree.
@@AnonforYeshua77777Neah,he's the goat! The cosmere and Wheel of Time are both really immersive and awesome. You probably didn't read much Sanderson.😊
You and your wife should definitely check out Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey-it's written by a woman, it's fantasy, and, most importantly, it has some intriguing sex scenes! Alternatively, you might enjoy Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, which not only features a gripping story but also has one of the best TV adaptations out there.
Man, if they loved Forth Wing and Iron Flame, chances are great that they will love Jay Kristoff Nevernight Chronicles & Empire of the Vampire/Damned. 😎
Two much better written fantasy/romances are Written in Red by Anne Bishop and Reign and Ruin by J.D. Evans (winner of SPFBO). Both have really great world building and actually take the fantasy elements of the story seriously.
Thanks for the transparency , you are an auto watch for me so what ever you put out I will watch. Cheers and my good reads to you!

As someone who has played a ton of Lacross, get ready to get smacked in the face about a thousand times.
You should read Kushiel's Dart with your wife and her friend. I think there's a good chance you'll all like it.

Green Bone Saga is a great choice for your wife and her friend!
Wonderful!
Hey matt just throwing my 2 cents in there:
You shoukd still do occasional series breakdowns. Your really great at them and theyre extremely useful.

On "Rascor Plains" -- YES. That second book sucked so hard at first then suddenly got AWESOME. haha

Ok…the name “Subscription Children”. I have to know!

I personally think Brandon Sandersons writing is so YA and boring
I think if you like all the science/magic lore you like it more. Though thats not the thing I like so it's the worst in the series for me.

for your wife and friend book suggestion i immediately thought of robin hobb?

MORE TOP 10!
Maybe make them read the first part of Poppy War, and then just stop halfway. They might like that lol 😂
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for your wife!!
Sword of Kaigen might be a good choice for your wife and her friend.
Man, if they loved Forth Wing and Iron Flame, chances are great that they will love Jay Kristoff Nevernight Chronicles & Empire of the Vampire/Damned. 😎
Empire of the Vampire or Kushiel's Dart
Polar Express is my Favorite christmas movie
Yeah I watched it recently and really liked it. On the train they do the same hot chocolate dance.

Ooh yes to Written in Red but it's really Urban Fantasy.
@amyaybar7894 Very true, but for his wife and her friend, I think it's a great one.
Now if they want the smut, her other series is perfect 😂
