    This has the best drinking game. If you go away for a weekend with friends, reset and go from start to finish. Every crash take a drink, after each race drink for the number you finish. This is a marathon not a sprint but makes for a fun game with friends

    I remember this game.
    Sort of.
    I had it on n64...
    You could run it in 'high resolution' mode (640x480), but that kinda tanked the framerate. XD
    I remember it was the most fun to play when using dual analogue control. (using two controllers held one-handed each. One of the weird upsides of the n64 controller design is you can hold it one-handed by the middle prong. Also the best way to play Goldeneye or Perfect Dark. Control scheme 2.1 FTW!)
    The problem with dual analogue control on Episode 1 Racer for n64 is you can only access it by entering the code 'RRDUAL'.
    Easy enough to remember, but the codes only work on the name select screen.
    Which you only get once when starting a new game.
    And... The game forgets every single code you've entered whenever you exit a game and load it again from the save file.
    (and there's no way to re-enter the codes when using an existing save)
    This makes the control scheme one of the best (it actually follows the controls seen in the film - push both sticks to go forward, use differential on each stick to turn, do some special moves with sideways stick movement. To activate boost, let go of sticks, activate boost, push forward on both sticks.), but not very usable to play the whole game with because of the save limitations.
    I believe there was also a code for 'permadeath' type of thing if you wanted to be masochistic. XD
    (basically if you enabled it and crashed the race would be over immediately rather than you respawning.)
    I think there was also a code for playing as what's-his-face.
    The 'villain' in the race.
    His pods have side-mounted flamethrowers. So... That's fun. XD

    I alweys playd this as a kid,(6-now) but dident understand that it was star wars. Until I was like 14 and just hit my brother during the race ”dude! Its star wars! Think out it”. We accely just calld it ”the race game”. Still brings joy.

    Jon played this recently too, interesting to see the difference between someone familiar and someone new playing it.
    W.r.t. The Umbilical Brothers, I got bought a DVD of their's for Christmas, it was very, very strange but very very funny in places too. Too weird for me in parts, but they are definitely worth a watch, they do a tremendous impression of velociraptors.

    On that one race with the circus tents, I remembered a shortcut through a tent on the left.
    No idea how I found it, considering the pace of the game. I was probably just so bad and slow that I found it anyway.

    I played this recently. The original Windows version runs (nearly) fine on modern systems (minus some weird graphical glitches which need fixed with a dll) but I keep getting respawned inside an rock on Ood IV or whatever the 0G tube place is.

    Darn you Dan, I looked at Beat Saber on a flat screen and it looked very meh, but after hearing you talk about it I found someone who had it and tried it, now that is another $20 that I don't have for a game I want to get now after playing it.
    I really don't care for DDR or Guitar Hero/Rock Band genre games, but playing that for a little bit and it is so good, only thing I dislike about it is how few songs there currently are and that it makes you sweat, but it's still great.

    Can confirm, The Amazing World of Gumball is rad. Adventure Time and Steven Universe are also pretty good, but I do have a couple of problems with them both. Still, cartoons are fun.

    The lego games have gone down hill after they added voice-acting. I liked when it was charades.

    • @nyahnyahson523
      @nyahnyahson523 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Now it seems that the Lego games are more for cheap(er) game production. In the modern day, it's really expensive to make games unlike back in the good ol days, but Lego probably just takes the license and runs with it. In wanting to stay as close to the source material, they have voice. I would argue that the game quality itself is a lot higher though (Same issues as all the Lego games, but the open worlds improve the experience a very good bit)

    You don't need to carry ID in the UK? I get stopped while on foot once maybe every 4 or 5 months by the police because I have a very general look which matches many descriptions. They always ask for ID.

    • @blobbem
      @blobbem 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you look young and are outside looking to buy alcohol or hardcore pornography, having some ID will help. But generally, no. ID isn't too much of a requirement. I don't have any photographic ID and never had a need for one as I don't drink alcohol nor do I drive.

    • @KuraIthys
      @KuraIthys 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a bunch of countries where you don't need ID.
      And a bunch where it's compulsory to have some on you at all times. (eg. The netherlands).
      There's also some where it varies depending on your identity. (eg. Japan. If you're a local you don't have to have ID on you, but if you're from overseas you need to have your passport with you at all times, even if you effectively have say a permanent residence visa)

    Rebecca, note to self Star Wars Rebels is dog shite. There is no action or tension. You know the main characters won't die except for the mentor. Darth Vader disappears at the end of season 2 and all the other villains are boring. Thawn is one of the most loved character from star wars and they make him useless. No I do not recommend it.
