Thanks for being transparent and showing us a real everyday morning routine. Sometimes, morning routines on TH-cam are so highly curated and so unrealistic that instead of being a motivator for people, they end up being a downer b/c it looks so unattainable. So thanks for sharing this and I’ll be sharing it with my friends who are moms; I think they’ll feel seen.

Such a great video with no filter to glamorize what can be mundane, routine, stressful, etc. It's life and you've managed it way better than me considering you've got little ones (and one big one) whom demand so much of your attention and time. You're doing great and just keep chugging along!

I hope you know what an amazing mama you are to your children! I've raised my three children and they are grown now and really awesome people. One of the best things I did was to always try to empathize with them and attune to their feelings. Some people don't understand that little children aren't simply miniature adults- they are children. You really get it and treat your children with such love and respect. You have that mix of gentleness and kindness that truly bless children. I watch my adult children treat their spouses, girlfriend, each other and me and their dad with such sensitivity and kindness and am glad I went with my heart and tried hard to understand and attune to theirs. Trust me it is worth it. You know your children best and they sure are blessed to have a loving mom like you. They are so precious! Enjoy these hard but beautiful days of your life!

    • @honeysuckle

Thank you so much! I remember being a kid and anytime I had a tantrum or anxiety, it was met with sternness. My parents were raised differently in vietnam and never had the luxury to be this way so they never talked about feelings or had that type of patience with me. Something I so wish I had since I’m pretty sensitive too! So I try my best to be gentle but stern when she crosses the line. It’s a fine line to walk on but a hug and hearing them out and listening to their feelings really goes a long way. Sometimes they just need to be heard. Thanks for this 💗

I have an 11yr old getting ready for middle school. Mornings are busy as you know. It never really gets better the kids just get older. Lol. Yes we have a schedule but life doesn’t always go as planned. I drop my daughter off then head to school. The worst part is she’s slow some yelling hurry up and trying to get out the door. I pack my patience. There is no one size fits all in parenting. Your little girl is going through an adjustment and change. I feel as parents we feel guilty but you have to find what works for you. We all have an opinion /advice but some things have changed and do what works for your family.

I am not a morning person either, never have been. I don’t use an alarm clock either, only if I have a morning shift. I normally awake around 8:30 (unless the mowers start mowing or the dogs wake me early.) I need a bit of quiet in the a.m. so I just sit with the TH-cam and get caught up - with a cup of water and then a good strong cup of coffee (either nespresso intense, chocolate fudge, or Starbucks Caffe Verona pod). I also sit on the deck for a little while, if there are no neighbors around. Great way to start the day. No child, no dogs, no hubby, just quiet.
My son was 5 when he finally potty trained! Yes, 5. She refused for years. She would fight every time. Once he saw that others did it, his friends, he was convinced. I tried from 2-5 and it finally stuck. It takes a lot of patience.

Regarding SPF - you can use just the zinc suncreen, however, all sunscreens are tested using 2mg of product per 1cm2 of skin. So you need around 1/4 to 1/2 of teaspoon of sunscreen for just the face. And using untinted zinc SPF would make you pale af :) Another way of measuring SPF is two finger lenghts of product for the face and neck.

I have 3 kids; 12, 9, and 8. We homeschool though, so no mad rush to get out the door, except once a week when we go to the 6:30am daily Mass. We’re early risers, so at least my 9 yr old is usually up before me. My alarm goes off at 5:45am and after I get myself ready, I feed our cats, check on our chickens, and begin prepping the kids’ “snack” which is really like second breakfast. They’ll get themselves toast or something easy and I’ll usually bake or make oatmeal, eggs, or sausage depending on what we have. We’re usually ready to eat and begin school by 7:30-7:45.

Heck that blasted me back 26 years, ago when my daughter was 5 years old and now she is almost 31 and still we are doing drop off and pick up.
Last night she had a rare night out with girls and usually she would not drink so they have safe transport home however my husband had to collect car from garage so offered to stay at hers overnight so he took our dog as, my daughter and son in law love having a dog visit so daughter and friends dropped in town son in law, and husband had lovely evening 4am husband got call ready to stop partying need bed... My son in law needs to learn to drive as, we live hours drive on not great roads away... Lol husband was she may be nearly 31 but still has her after night out routine so hot water bottle wrapped round PJs before leaving to pick up, hit chocolate in keep warm cup in the doir dog cuddle, PJs,
Hot Chocolate paracetamol hot water bottle and bed.
This morning high protein breakfast and crunchy toast... Being a, parent never ends it just changes.
I was never a morning person but once I had daughter into a, waking up routine decided to set alarm hour before get up put clothes I had looked out night before on get cup of tea, and read for remaining time.. It was the me time that set up my day and kept me sane. It was hard initially fighting urge to stay in bed but worth it.
I would not bother unpacking if you are moving so soon having been there and done it enables you when you are settled to see what you really use or what you missed as was, still packed you will be amazed at how much you can then declutter.

"This is our last nappy box" 😂😂 I've said that! My boy was potty trained when my husband had covid. It was hot weather so my boy went pants less. We're stuck at home anyway. So after four or five days of being pants less he figured it out. We spent all day outside too.
He's be paintless potty trained, then just undies potty trained, then fully dressed trained.. Then he'll go backwards two or three times and forget. Train again.
Don't stress. He still wears nappies at night... We'll get there. He's potty is covered in stickers now.
Oh!! "do you need to go potty" ...no, no, best to say "we are going to go TRY to potty". And they just sit. If nothing happens it was just trying.
    That my tip!!
And have the potty facing you in the toilet. Pee together

Dzung, I'm going to be blunt- you guys are in for some turbulent teen years if you don't stop letting the kids rule you. I suggest some family counseling or classes (our pediatrician referred us to a place years ago). Cici uses the tears to try to manipulate the situation. Kids will figure out how they can get what they want, its our job as parents to recognize that and enforce rules and let's them know you are in charge. When mine were little and they tried "pushing to see how far they could get" I would just firmly say something like, that's not going to work with me , so they knew I wasn't going to break. I have 3 young adult kids and 3 teens, so I very much recognize what Cici is doing. I realize this a tiny glimpse into your life, but I've noticed that it seems Cici thinks she is the boss for a while now😅. If you delete this or I get backlash, then so bet it, but I wanted to give a friendly word of warning, because I see the signs and I've lived it already. Take care 🙂

I 100% agree with this comment. It’s not normal for Cici to be crying about school like that. A child’s behaviour is a sign for a deeper connection. Any behaviour is seeking attention whether the behavior is positive or negative.

Why are you triggered? The worst type of people are the ones telling another parent how to parent. No parent is perfect and everyone is just doing the best they can for that day. Let’s have more grace for parents.

Ow please, my friends daughter is 7 and she still cries sometimes when going to school. She loves school, but she has a wonderful mother and she loves being with her (strict) mother. Some kids just love being at home with their family. That doesn’t mean that they are manipulative. Boundaries are important, and I’m sure that she has boundaries and is being a wonderful mom.

I get what you’re trying to say but as you said this video literally shows you a tiny tiny part of life and maybe it’s just drop off at school that’s hard. Id also like to remind you that we just got out of a pandemic which most kids have become so accustomed to staying at home and I would agree with you if Dzung let cici stay home, but she didn’t. She set the boundary that even if she cries she still has to go to school.

Maybe you can start the potty training by letting him run around the house one hour day with a bare bum so he can feel a little free to try to pee first, if he feels like it. Some little kids hide behind furniture when they need to poop, and gives a sence of controle feeling, and this is when you talk to them to make them realize the necessity of going. Dont pottytrain both peeing and pooping, just start with the peeing, this will give a feeling of succes.. You can help by calling it what it is instead of finding names, but if the controlething is because of shame just laugh and give it funny words and sit with him when he is on the pot.. Talk about is sometimes and sometimes maybe read a book. No ipad here, this is taking too much focus😉 Good luck..

Why are you always buying new furnitures? Use what was used at the last house. You need to not waste and think of ways to use the things you bought when you were in the last house. You need to get your house renovated. Light a fire under the permits’ people to get the renovation going. You are wasting a lot of money renting and you need to start building equity.

We’re all human with a story. I’m not just a recipe machine and tbh those types of videos were sucking the life out of me. On the surface, this video may be sharing my life a little but it’s also art in form of a short film, and that keeps us creative and inspired. I’ll still be making those recipe tutorials so you can feel free to stick around, or not. ☺️

I subscribe to a lot of channels, but doesn't mean I watch EVERYTHING they pump out. If once in a while, she does a non recipe video that you don't care for, then just ignore it until a video more to your liking shows up.
