We are new at this, we were told we could get min insurance and work under a brokers authority, but we are finding out we need 1 million, is that your experience?
Yes, you pretty much need a minimum of 1mill liability.. 100k cargo for brokers to even deal with you.. Some do have insurance you can ride under as well. They'll usually charge you a weekly fee.. Good luck on your journey..
You should find a company that doesnt require DOT and your own insurance also a company that doesnt have forced dispatches. Another thing is try to find a company with loads east of the Mississippi

But with talks of diesel being on the verge of running out.. It may open the way for regular gas equipment like vans to run it up for a while.. We'll see how these next few months play out👌🏾

Too many new drivers, not enough knowledge = cheap rates. Used to make good money running otr in the sprinter… now says it’s hit or miss… after taxes and expenses it’s just a job to someone who understands business.

I was mainly running under the company Usko but needed my own commercial insurance and what ever I bided on a load I got a 100% of my bid but the would just put up to 10% on top of my bid for their company..
something told me to write it down, I lost count after week 2.. now I have to look thru all the bol's and add up miles.. I most def will hit you.. Headed to Oregon tomorrow time to hit it again..
Very first van was an 2017 nissan nv200.. 45k miles.. I got it for like 15k when prices was good.. I traded it in 60k miles and they gave me 20k for it..

Doing local is always good, being you get to sleep in your bed at night. I've been OTR a few times now and the best thing is the adventure of not knowing where you'll end up, both have an uncertainty of how much you'll make for the week or month. I never went under .90c per mile up to 1.30 which is pretty average ..

I agree, gas 9,000- (gas) 1,700$= 7,300/ 3.5 weeks = 2,085 weekly (not including tax & cost per mile)….

I did box truck before good money but very slow , vans are faster and guaranteed ETA. For sure box truck from 26ft makes way better money.

During this time I averaged between around 700-850 just depending on how far the run was and when it needed to be dropped..

Very first van was an 2017 nissan nv200.. 45k miles.. I got it for like 15k when prices was good.. I traded it in 60k miles and they gave me 20k for it..

@@gunguru5711 If you come in with your authority you'll be able to make a little more because you don't have that many people in your pocket. but if not and With a Van note you may be cutting it kind of close.. the prices for loads have dropped a lot.. If you have the option to wait I personally would but then it all depends on your hustle bro.. It's still money out here..

Im leased onto a carrier that ask what I would like to bid on loads and also a dispatcher I was dealing with from facebook who placed bids for me as well..

How much does your dispatcher charge?
1 puts 10% on top of my bid and they take that so I get my full bid, The other took 15% for me riding under their Authority and dispatching me👌🏾

Doing local is always good, being you get to sleep in your bed at night. I've been OTR a few times now and the best thing is the adventure of not knowing where you'll end up, both have an uncertainty of how much you'll make for the week or month. I never went under .90c per mile up to 1.30 which is pretty average ..
