Thanks for answering my question-now I know how to respond the next time someone says that. The three watches I'd keep if I could only keep three: Nomos Tangenete, Rolex OP 34mm, and my Rolex 14060M. I am happy I purchased my 14060M CPO, and I'm really happy that I did. 😃. Paco's black coat is so shiny and pretty!
Great 3 watch choice! I love my Tangente as well. Yes. Paco has a very shiny coat. He eats healthy and keeps himself clean. Plus he is a very happy kitty. 😊😊
Great content. I am not playing the 3 watch collection sorry 😂.Thats why I have more than 3 watches. I would not be able to narrow it down. Thanks Tony.
Have a healthy new year Tony. I always watch and I like to learn from other people's watch philosophies. Interesting to see how neo vintage wearability and general legibility, talking Daytona, have inspired you. I agree and find great value in older pieces. Saw a comment here of someone trolling, just ignorant. It's good to hear your take on watch things, life and music. Thanks for the videos.
Bought a Cloud brand new in 1999 for $3100. Ive been wearing in for work pretty much Monday through Friday since. Replaced the crystal 3 times because in a part time idiot. All and all its been 100% reliable. Great video as always Tony…. Best watch channel on TH-cam!!!!!
Hi Tony - thanks for the great content, as always! On the three watch collection, right now, I’d have to go with my Cartier Santos large green dial, Polar Explorer II (red GMT hand) and the Rolex Air King 41. Happy New Year to you and the cats!
Hey Tony, happy Friday. Amazing strap on the Oris, really nice combo! I’m shocked you didn’t select the GMT as one of your 3 watch options; but makes sense since you mentioned how comfortable the sub is. Anyhow, I have a question this week; I own an Omega speedmaster professional (3861 caliber), purchased new from the AD almost 2 years ago. The OCD in me noticed that the minute hand advances to the next minute when the second hand is somewhere at 55 seconds, maybe a little earlier. Is that considered a normal deviation and at what point would you recommend servicing the watch? Omega has a 5 yr warranty so I do have some time left. Thanks as always and hope you enjoy the weekend and New Year!
Btw some colored OP are discontinued. Yellow, Turquoise, Green, Red are the ones stopped. The regular blue, black, silver are still going to stay in production. My brother has been on the list for a green OP and has been waiting almost 2 years and his AD said they can’t get him it since they’re offering long time customers it since those customers can’t get the yellow and turquoise anymore since they’re discounted. So what ever colored dials are left they go to the customers who have long history and waited longer.
No, man. The green is available and the turquoise is available in 36mm. That discontinued the yellow while ago. Not sure when the red was discontinued, but the green is still available in 36 and 41.
Tony is 💯 right. Every year the same people make predictions about Rolex that are always wrong. It’s like Mel Kiper in the NFL Draft, but with watch releases
Hi Tony. Hope this find you well. Just curious- what your thoughts are on winders, and do you usually keep yours in a watch box or a winder?? Also I bought a brand new Sea Dweller in 2020 and seems to lose a minute or so every week. Kinda concerning. What do you advise??
I would keep my Patek 5139G, my Cartier tank rose gold, and my gmt master II batgirl. That question made my heart sink already! Happy new year Tony. All the best for 2025. Note; my Rolex 14060M is a better wear than the batgirl, so I might keep it instead. Now I am thinking about my Daytona pikachu on oysterflex and wondering if I can let it go!! Man these questions are painful to answer…
Hi Tony! Wishing you a Happy New year! The three watches I would keep in my collection. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duoface Tribute Chronograph, the Breguet Rose gold Flyback XXI and Rolex GRNR S&G GMT II.
Your sub could just be magnetized. That would make it run a lil fast. I'd try that first. Great video dude Here's your band Tony Tony- guitar Justin Hawkins- vocals Josh eppard-drums The bass player from Tool I don't know his name. Take my money
Hope all is well Tony. After watching your Cartier Santos review video, I was hooked. I went out and purchased a 2 tone and a stainless variants of the Santos. My girl friend got me the all black ADLC version for Christmas. I also have picked up Cartier blue calves skin and burgundy alligator straps making the watch and strap combinations I have now mind boggling. Where now it is to the point my Rolexes are not getting much wrist time. What is your opinion of the all black ADLC Santos? I also would appreciate feedback from your awesome viewers who have the same watch and can rate how the ADLC coating wears. I'm a bit concerned that deep scratches can't be polished out. I purchased an extra ADLC bezel in case it needs to replace it in the future. Happy New Year to you and all your viewers. In response to the what 3 watches I would keep, if I could only own 3. 1 GMT 2 BATGIRL 2 41mm Datejust 3 Cartier Santos large with the silver opaline dial. Happy New year to you and your viewers. May we all enjoy the great watches we love in good health. your viewers. Keep growing chanel and double thumbs up from the 305 Rafael
Hi Tony, Season’s Greetings ! Always enjoy your Friday QnA video. Your thoughts on the following . My Rolex AD has indicated that GMT2 Pepsi white gold with meteorite dial is a good possibility as well as Day Date rose gold with black ombré dial . While I’d like to get both, they’re pretty pricey 😂 & if I can only choose one, what would you recommend? Just FYI I have purchased from this AD, a Sub, Pikachu and 1908 with white dial . Happy new year and thanks !
Hi Tony. I’m interested in your thoughts on the Piaget Polo? I don’t hear a lot of talk regarding this watch, but I think it’s great. I know it shares similarities with Patek, but is it its own watch? Or simply a homage? Thanks
Thank you for your videos. I wear Rolex 40mm and have lately liked the Cartier must and Dumont. My AD keeps telling me I won’t like it if I buy it. I also wear the sky dweller and James Cameron. Should I move on to another watch?
Hi Tony, thanks for the videos. Charles here from Montreal. I’m an airline pilot who’s currently in the market for a GMT. I know you have the Batman which I really like but do you have any other suggestions for a GMT? Thanks Tony, all the best!
Hello Tony!! Happy Q&A Friday - hope you are having a great holiday. My wife and I are new to this timepiece game, but we are having a great time learning all about it - over the last year we have found an awesome AD that we both very much like and have each purchased a Rolex (Explorer 40 for me and a Turquoise 31mm Oyster Perpetual for my wife). We are both extremely happy, obviously. My question is very basic - when you take a watch off, how do you set it down? On its side, it’s crown, it’s bracelet or it’s face? I’m assuming you have lots of watch boxes or rolls, but if you were just taking it off to shower, how would you place it on the counter? Thanks and keep on rocking!! Ps - I am thinking a Submariner (no date) is next for me…my wife wants a “fancier” Datejust with diamonds (oy vey)
Happy New Year Tony! I wish you all the best and success, but mostly full of good health for 2025. My question is: I got the rose gold Daytona on an Oyster Flex from my ad about a month ago. What's your take on it? I love it, but after spending 33k on it just makes me a little nervous. Do you think they offered me because no one wanted it? Or they chose me specifically because I'm a valuable customer/and or spending history? I know the white gold and picachu sells for a premium, but I'm not too sure about the Rose gold.. I still love it, I just like to hear your knowledge. Thank you sir!
I'm not giving up any but hypothetical; Omega silver snoopy, Tudor Panda & Citizen titanium Tsuno racer..I like chronographs it doesn't really make sense!
Hi tony wonderful video as always. I think the second question , the guy would like your idea between the YG DD Flat green VS YG DD Green Ombre?. These are 2 different watches. I would like to hear your thought also. lol.
Hey Tony, great video. Question … since you love your zenith pilot and would be in your top 3 keepers, can you discuss your reasons why it’s one of your favorites and things you like and don’t like about it. Maybe talk about why you chose that pilot over something like a IWX mark. Thank you, Doug.
I wish you could still buy the Oris Pointer Day (not Date). There seem to be two designs and am looking for a good used example but it's a pain as I want leather.
Wow I can’t imagine somebody actually buying a dang Rolex… and not understanding how an Automatic movement works! Thats the easy part! 🤣 finding the money is what’s endlessly challenging! My three watches I would hang onto: my Tissot, my Bulova Lunar Pilot and the Swiss Army Watch my wife got me 25 years ago when we got married! Happy New Year my amigo!
Q& A -hey Tony my Batman's bezel has frozen up and I haven't gone anywhere near water at all.. ive soaked it in hot water but its just being stubborn and cutting up my hand trying to turn it.. my old seamaster had this issue as well.. I know its about tight tolerances but is this really acceptable for such an expensive watch considering the bezel is a key function the piece? should we be complaining to our AD's that submariners and gmt masters and seamster have this issue so often?
3 watches that I would love to have: 1) GMT, I have a Polar Explorer 2 (but wanted a GMT master 2) 2) Diver, Black Bay 54 (I wish I could have a Submariner someday) 3) Chronograph (have none at the moment but may be a Speedmaster someday)
While I love all of my modern Rolex watches my neo-vintage GMT Master II 16710 is , by far, the most comfortable. I’m looking into getting an Explorer II 16570 or a Sea Dweller 16600.
Hey Al, that’s cool. I love my modern ones as well, but now I find myself only wearing my sub. It’s definitely more comfortable than my modern watches. Best of luck on your search for the Explorer and SD!
Happy new year ! The 3 I would keep ? The 1967 321 Omega Speedy on 1450 bracelet, the 1966 gilt tropical plexi no date Rolex Sub on 7206 riveted bracelet, and a 1984 36 mm twotone Rolex Datejust awarded to my father by Rolex as a career award, with official "Rolex Awards for Enterprise 1984" engraving on the caseback by Rolex.
Tony! Question for the future- the year 2025- I just watched the Netflix special on Elvis Presley’s 1968 comeback-(it’s amazing) what are your thoughts on Elvis, both the person and the performer? Thank you, thank you very much.
This has become part of my meditation at the end of each week to watch the Q&A session. Tony you never disappoint my man! Happy holidays to you as well!
Good advice re gray dealers. My own experience. Before i had a clue (not that i have much of one now) i purchased a 1980 datejust from a dealer in the downtown LA jewelry mart. Took it to be serviced at rolex and was so embarrassed when the service center on wilshire rep walks back to the counter with my watch telling me it was a fake and they would not touch it. Total kick in the gut. Turns out the poly crystal was replaced with an aftermarket sapphire crystal. They (Rolex) know every component and any changes are not acceptable to them. As a watch owner it is up to you what you want and are willing to accept. However, most people including me don’t know. The dealer should disclose but gray dealers are generally used car salesman of the worst kind (my opinion only based on my experiences). Ihad the watch serviced by another watchmaker downtown who confirmed everything else was Rolex and who offered to find an acceptable Rolex crystal. Personally i would never buy from a gray dealer again but if you want vintage you have no choice.
It’s funny to hear people say that 36 mm is too small. I mean Tom Brady or one to the Super Bowl Tony soprano Mike Tyson the list goes on and on her own I mean Invictus are popular and a lot of places.

I've noticed the trend for smaller watches lately,34-36 mm. My smallest watch is 38mm & it feels small even on my 6 1/2" wrist but taste vary.
Sorry, just noticed 34mm is plenty big for a woman & some men too.

Thanks man! I figure I would really have to look at them both first. For me personally, I would take the Olive dial.

Aloha!

3) Chronograph (have none at the moment but may be a Speedmaster someday)
Good picks, Tudor Panda is a good chronograph but Omega & Zenith are as well but a bit more $$.
Awesome man!
Other brands do chronos, gmt, divers.
The Day Date is unique only to Rolex, its most iconic watch.
