How to Sound American Without the Tip of Your Tongue

- In this video, I provide an in-depth pronunciation of the differences between how native English speakers articulate consonants like N and L and how speakers of many other languages articulate them.
While a lot of languages use a lot more muscularity in the tip of the tongue, native English speakers pronounce these sounds with the tip of their tongues much softer and more relaxed.
Mastering this difference is already a big puzzle piece to sounding more native-like and mastering an American accent.

How do you the L without your tongue going up... WOW I need a tutorial!
The tongue goes up, but the point is about the tip not going straight up by itself at an angle. Our tongues are flatter so the whole tongue must go up together and stay wide, with the tip spread out and even with the rest of the tongue. You’ll also notice that our whole mouth closes when making an N or an L because of it. If your mouth is open, the tip will have to be pointy and curved straight up vertically to get there. Our mouths are more closed so that the tip blends in with the blade and the tongue can stay flat in that area. As a result you also will never see the bottom of our tongues while we’re doing it, the sound ends up shorter, and we don’t put so much pressure on the roof of our mouths with the tongue tip
This is almost impossible to do for non-natives.😮😢😂
