      Yes it is, brown doesn’t see nearly the amount of defensive attention as Jayson Tatum. Tatum has so many responsibilities on offense like making sure Derrick White is engaged, making sure Porzingis is getting touches, making sure Holiday gets some spot up shots, and letting Brown cook a little. And then he has to shoulder his own scoring load. All Jaylen Brown has to do is score and defend. It’s not close. If Jaylen Brown didn’t have Jayson Tatum on his team he doesn’t look this good.

Cavs were constantly looking for a mismatch cause Kyrie didn't want to go 1 on 1 with Klay neither did LeBron with Iggy.That is why they played boring slow pace offense on GSW set defense . They spent 18 to 20 seconds per attack until they get a mismatch.They wanted center or Curry on LeBron and Kyrie. In 2016 Curry was not strong but since 2019 he's much stronger and I didn't saw any difference in him guarding Kyrie when they played this season and ANT this two games..Ant is taller player with longer arms and that's it.That's why Kyrie didn't chase mismatches

    Leave it to PERK to get lost in the sauce after two games! Jaylen Brown makes one clutch shot in a game they absolutely should have lost, and has a great game in Game 2...so suddenly he's the "Best Player on the Celtics!?" I love him when he comes to play, but that wasn't the case in the playoffs last year. Too often he looks like he's sleepwalking out there. When he can bring the same intensity all the time, then he could be great. But I don't think he has it in him.

    The Celtics are better when Brown is the focal point of the offense, bc his strengths - penetration, power finishes, and making tough end of clock shots - compliment a team that likes to start every trip down the floor 5 out. Brown makes better choices with his own shot, and he creates double teams in action, which leads to open shooters. If teams do a good job covering the sprays, Brown can elevate and hit. Tatum gets double-teamed at the beginning of the clock, bc before this year he was almost guaranteed to choke it up if blitzed, but it's part of most team's gameplan - so the first reads are usually covered, and instead of dishing for an open look, it's just getting the ball out of his hands. This creates stagnation, and in the face of stagnation, Tatum often demands the ball back, and settles for jumpshots.
    Tatum being ice cold from three has exacerbated things, in these playoffs.
    The Celtics are better when Tatum is handling everything else. He's a terrific screener, and makes great decisions on the block or as the hinge - I've often said he's kind of like a Super Saiyan Draymond, and the only problem is he told people he wanted to be Kobe, and they ran with it. He's the best rebounder on the best rebounding team in the NBA, and I dont think that registers as meaningful to people in the way that it should. When he wins his own rebounding battles, the Celtics do not lose - the ground he covers eliminates second chance opportunities, and creates transition and fast-break scoring. He's a superlative defender, 1-5, especially in a scramble - his transition defense is unmatched and almost completely undiscussed bc sports commentators are dramatists, not analysts. It is very hard to get easy baskets against the Celtics when Tatum is on the floor. It's very hard to get tough, hero baskets when Brown is on the floor, bc he can slow down the best, most physical scorers in the game.
    They are playing complementary basketball, right now, and Williams is correct: the C's problems are narrative, which is to say they are a problem for the SAS's and Perk's of the world. The Celtics do not have on court issues with their twin stars, fans and media have expectations problems. In most of Tatum's 'no show/underperforming' games, he's hasnt just been the on-off leader, he's been the on-off leader of the league. He's the single most impactful player on the best team in the sport - and Brown is the best individual scorer and defender on the #1 offense and #2 defense in the sport.
    The other night, Kyrie and Luka combined for 63 points, and ESPN lost their collective minds about it - just rave reviews, endless news blasts. The night before, Brown and Tatum combined for 61 points, and the talk was about how disappointing Tatum had been.
    TLDR: Most of the Celtics' issues are that sports commentators dont watch much basketball, and are paid to create drama, not to accurately report on what happens in games. And yes, I did write all that.

  • @bulja80085
    @bulja80085 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Jaylen Brown can only get these numbers as a second option, Tatum is the leader of the team and is the one teams are scouting against, teams would rather have Jaylen go off than Tatum, Jaylen outplays him for one game and immediately the media morons think he is better, Tatum is their backbone and if it weren't for him and the gravity he commands as one of the best young players in the league then Jaylen could not have nights like this because those teams would only have to worry about him. Kobe had games when he outplayed Shaq, Kyrie had games when he outplayed LeBron, Pippen had games when he outplayed Jordan, but they are all definitely the second option. Jayson Tatum gets so much unnecessary hate when he has had great playoff performances, I am a pretty big Celtics hater but I can still say the amount of hate Tatum gets for not winning a chip before he was even 25 is completely unwarranted, he has had great teams and teammates, but if he lets those great teammates carry some of the load then he isn't doing enough and is "worse" than those players, but when he takes the game into his own hands then he isn't a good playmaker and should trust his teammates more, he gets criticized no mattet what and even as someone who is always actively rooting against the Celtics it isinfuriating
