IT VERY MUCH HAPPENED.... my wife heard these stories straight from the daughter of the 2 main characters in this story.... this woman, Elizabeth Burkhart Ware, was taken in for a short period of time by my mother-in-law back in the 90's, and she told my wife these stories of her mother and father and this Reign of Terror. My wife told me these stories she was hearing and it just sound so unreal.
Top 5? Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Daniel Day Lewis, Robert DeNiro. Next five? Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Denzel Washington.
@@OurHonestOpinion In no particolar order Pacino, Deniro, Tom Hanks, Daniel day Lewis, Kate Blanchet, and so on long list I appreciate good the art of cinematography👌🏻…
Got to disagree fam, cheadle has played many characters.. denzel has played one his whole career.. jon q is the same guy from training day and he is the same guy from man on fire.. and so on and so on.. he does it amazingly though.. but you trying my man don🤣🤣
@@OurHonestOpinion saying Alonzo.. an Academy Award winning character is John Q is crazy.. Cheadle has lead no more than 5 films his whole career but he’s with Denzel.. the lead gets paid more than the supporting for a reason
Brando is THE dividing line, "A Streetcar Named Desire" in 1951, that's the perofmrance that changed the game, anyone who doesn't know that doesn't know ANYTHING. And De Niro "changed the game" with a string of performances, but definitely "Raging Bull" was a major new benchmark that everyone has imitated ever since. (And following it up with "The King Of Comedy" has been a choice oft imitated as well). Leo is a very good actor but he has never EVER had that effect. He's a movie star who is also a good actor. I can't believe people are even coming CLOSE to comparing him to the truly great actors. (Tom Hanks also. They're talking about Tom Hanks? Tom Cruise??!!! Tom Cruise is a total hack, that guy does not deserve to be on ANY list of 'Greatest actors ever")
Leo's great, but no way is in the "Top five ever", that' so silly. DE NIRO is fifty times the actor Leo EVER will be, definitely in terms of influence, are you kidding me? "Raging Bull" is THE benchmark performance that changed the game for actors. And when you pick the actors that were going on at the same time? Jack Nicholson? Al Pacino? Gene Hackman? Dustin Hoffman? Robert Duvall? These guys all wipe the floor with Leo, are you kidding me? And we haven't even gotten to Brando or Charles Laughton or Bette Davis......THESE are the people who changed the game, not Leo DeCaprio, give me a break! And it ain't about Scorsese and Leo. It's about Scorsese and DE NIRO. That's the event! Whenever those two work together, it's almost always a classic. Scorsese and De Niro made each other's career, going back to "Mean Streets" in 1973 (classic) then "Taxi Driver" in 1976 (classic), "Raging Bull" in 1980 (classic), "The King Of Comedy" in 1982 (classic), "Goodfellas" in 1990 (classic), "Cape Fear" in 1991 (classic) and "Casino" in 1995 (classic), not to mention a couple of other films. Who cares about him working with Leo?! That's just been the way he's gotten greenlit by studios over the last twenty years. NONE of those movies hold a candle to the De Niro ones, not in terms of influence and pushing the envelope. THIS movie though looks amazing. But please, enough with the dopey Leo stuff. He's good, but he ain't ANYWHERE near the consequential actor De Niro has been, not in a million years. Leo has not changed the game of acting; De Niro has, more than once.
You tripping fam. Leo is just as good if not better than those actors you named. Once again its all opinions, but yours is wrong🤣🤣🤣 when you talking about impact, obviously the older actors would have paved the way for the younger actors. That is like saying lebron cant be better than george gervin or dr j or some of the older folks… magic and bird because they had a bigger impact. You definitely have others that can be on that list, you named a few of them.. we rolling with leo💯
@@OurHonestOpinion That's just silly and you don't know what you're talking about, you're talking from a place of ignorance. If you want to talk about "greatest ever", then you need to know all about what's gone before. And you don't! And by the way, Leo is my age, ok? I've grown up with him, I don't need his acting explained to me. Your frame of reference is....what? A bunch of dopey franchise movies? There is not ONE performance of DiCaprio's that has "changed the game", I'm sorry that hurts your feelings but that's the way it is. He's very good. He's IN THE TRADITION of De Niro. DE NIRO DISCOVERED HIM. He put him in "This Boy's Life". He's the singular influence in that guy's acting. Where is the Leo influence? Nowhere! Anything Leo did, it was done by someone else before. You can't say that about De Niro, you can't say that about Brando, you can't say that about Bette Davis. There are very few in that pantheon, and Leo ain't in it. He's great! He ain't a game changer. Live with it.
@@mariramos9982 Wrong, Captain Ignorant. De Niro had changed the game repeatedly in his twenties and thirties, ESPECIALLY "Raging Bull" which is STILL the most influential performance of the last 50 years, and LEO would be the first person to tell you. People knew De Niro was a game changer in the SEVENTIES. Sorry, Leo has NEVER been that kind of actor. You act like De Niro JUST started being called the GOAT. He's been known as that since the 1970s, jackass. Do the world a favor: take your thumb out of your mouth for once in your life. You can't live in Fantasyland your entire life. The idea that ANYONE compares De Niro and DiCaprio is bizarre beyond all words, and Leo would be the first person to tell you that. Leo has NEVER done a performance that's influential and groundbreaking. Performances like that happen once in a blue moon. Before De Niro, you have to go back to Brando in the early 50s to find a performance as influential. If you don't know what you're talking about, Maria, don't open your ignorant little mouth. What a JOKE.
That is the most imbecilic, half-witted thing I've ever seen somebody say. I'm embarrassed for you. Take your thumb out of you mouth. DiCaprio has never changed the game of acting, sorry little Stew. Of course, the truth of the matter is you don't know either of those guys' work, Daniel Day's OR Brando's, who are you kidding? What a moron.
I'm Osage. Thank you for watching this trailer. Watch the press conference at the Festival de Cannes, watch the movie, read the book.

I'm 70 yo man on a nursing home. I haven't looked forward to any movie this much since The Godfather. This maybe more.

Completely disagree with this list🤣🤣🤣all good all fun all opinions 💯💯 dustin hoffman is a good one

You can't compare DiCaprio and Deniro because one is 48 and the other one 79. Let's see what happens when Leo is 79.....

Yea. I got him in my top three for sure
