I can’t believe it was January where we attended our first ever Area Festival at Parwood in the Prelim 19. I was SO nervous, forgot where I was going and cried ALOT. We still ended up with 66.3% finishing 12th out of 24 competitors.

I didn’t realise I had qualified for 2x Winter Area Festivals at Prelim level. Off I headed with Voss for a 4 hour drive to Forest Edge in Norfolk. This was our first ever stay away show where Vossi blew me away and we scored 69.3% and finished in 🥈 spot and qualified directly for the Winter Champs at Nationals.

We had a lot of fun in March, competing in my first ever Novice Freestyle class with my James Bond theme. Some of the judges weren’t keen on some of the music so we then changed to Skakiera/ JLo/ Lady Gaga.

We had the best time ever at our second ever stay away show at Addington EC for the Winter Champs/ Nationals. I was blown away to be surrounded by Olympic riders and the best of the best! I have NEVER been so nervous as I was for this show. I almost passed out a few times!! We didn’t score great on paper with 64.9% but I was so proud to have competed at such a prestigious show in my first few months of BD.

My proudest team event to date!! Voss and I got selected to represent South&East England at the Inter-Regionals. We produced two fab tests finishing 🥈 on day 2 with an overall top 10 placing for the Prelim section. Plus, our region won overal🏆🥇

What a month, we competed our new Novice Freestyle test scoring a new personal best of 74.4% at Brook Farm!

We competed in our first Summer Area Festival in both the Prelim and Novice classes. In the Prelim we scored 67.6% (11th place out of 45)
and we scored 68.1% in the Novice (8th place out of 35) the highlight was receiving 70.2% from one judge in the Novice test.

I was so excited for this - our Novice Freestyle at Area Festival; Speedgate. We had a nightmare of a journey to the venue where we were trapped on the M25 because of an accident - I didn’t think we would make it in time. Despite an insanely stressful journey and going by myself, we made it but had a couple of small mistakes (broke out of medium trot and one of the judges didn’t spot our final medium trot down the centre line, not scoring us at all) but we still scored 67.9% finishing 4th out of 12. Off we then headed to Bury Farm for our final Area Festival, scoring 66.25% in the Novice (finishing 20th out of 40) and 65.5% in the Novice Freestyle (finishing 10th out of 16) I remember feeling so deflated with this show🙈

After a busy few summer months training and competing, Voss had a well deserved chilled month.

An absolutely incredible month where Voss and I scored two new personal best scores of 71.25% in the Novice 4 test and 71.5% in the Novice 5 test and featured in the Horse&Hound magazine for the first time ever🏆🥇
    𝙉𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧
As if October couldn’t be topped off, we headed to a completely new venue and competed in just the Novice 4 test scoring a new personal best of 71.88%🏆🥇

After a fantastic year, Voss has enjoyed a very chilled December enjoying down time!
