    His answer to the Remote ID question was so confusing. All we need to know is if the new V3 being sold in the US is remote ID ready or will we still have to purchase an add on unit?

    The Evo II v3 surprise is Skylink. When it actually ships, let's hope it not only has 2.7K video downlink res to 1km as does the Evo Lite (tablet users will appreciate this most) but mapping capability which the present Skylink software lacks. Missions in Autel Explorer could be great for video if only the aircraft didn't pause at every way point. Fix that, too

    I have an EVO 2 Pro v1. Love it but wish they would come out with a 1-in camera with mechanical shutter so you could map faster without worry for motion blur.

    I didn't catch this when it was released I was just doing some research on remote ID and ran across this I want to say that Autel Robotics has been an amazing supporter of the national public safety drawn donation program more than any other drone manufacturer and we are very thankful for that. On the topic of Customer Service it would be great if Autel along with other manufacturers put into practice "under promise over deliver" as opposed to "overpromise and underdeliver" With respect to manufacturing and competitive pricing there is no way that anybody's going to compete with Chinese labor rates so that's a given. With respect to technology both Autel and DJi are way ahead of any United States manufacture with technology including Skydio.. I value John's insight and feedback it would be great if Autel could tighten up your ship with respects to Tech info, example a statement on remote ID.. They make great products we value their support good information.

    Wish I could ask John about the Enterprise V2. Our fire department purchased the whole system, and were under the assumption that the Live Deck would be available for the V2. Yet, they did not offer (and still do not) offer a Live Deck for the V2 chip. I asked repeatedly (via Autel support) and they told me they "were working on a streaming solution" for the V2 Evo II Enterprise. Every time they tell me they have no plans to release a Live Deck that will work with the V2. This is INTEGRAL to emergency operations. At this point, we have to connect our FPV command monitor screen to the V2 Smart Controller with a HDMI cable, which handcuffs the pilot to the command area and becomes a trip hazard.
    So...Autel should create a buy-back program for public safety agencies that spent good money on the 640T with the V2 chipset that is not only outdated now, but can't be used with the new Live Deck 2. Literally one year later....we should have looked elsewhere. Very disappointing.

    • @ivaneberle3972
      @ivaneberle3972 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was a known issue from the launch of the V2 chipset, that there was no compatibility with Live Deck. The V2 chip can't bind to 2 devices simultaneously. Anyone who assured you otherwise was flat out wrong

    DJI might have 99% of the market, but I've tried three of their drones and they had too much trouble locking on to a vehicle or person to follow. Once they finally locked on, they would lose their target quickly. Once I was finally able to get the Mavic 3 Classic to follow my slow moving tractor and tried moving it to in front of me. The drone almost gave me a haircut as it passed (dangerous). What I was looking for was intelligence and performance. So DJI ended up with three returned drones. Looked at the Skydio for a couple weeks and they seemed okay, but they were unavailable (out of stock for months).
    So I looked around some more and found the Autel EVO 2 Pro V3 and so glad I did. Have been watching so many videos and purchased the drone with three batteries from Amazon ($2,600). Pretty excited to experience this (arrives in a week).

      @captinamerica2147 That drone may be good (I have to V3 Enterprise. It doesn't have all of the flight modes of the Evo 2 V3.
      I must warn you, Autel's service department / repair is very, very slow. Took them 6 months to finally repair my drone, but they used a used part that didn't work very well.
      Do yourself a favor, stay clear of Autel. The best drone I have ever had is the new DJI Mini 4 Pro (in the US you can bring it up to 1,640 feet (the controller tells you if planes are nearby - I jus go this high to go over mountains) on a Recreational License).It has dozens of autonomous modes. I also bought the Integra Goggles and Motion Controller 2 and they are amazing, but I recently purchased the XREAL Air 2 Pro AR Glasses. Using a USB-C cable you can connect the glasses directly to the drone's controller (I have the RC2 (best). Then you can see a very wide vison of where you are flying -- much better detailed then just looking at screen and half the price of using the goggles.

    I've heard of people having trouble accessing 10 bit color in A-Log with the EVO 2 Pro V3. Can you confirm or debunk this?

    Here's a question for Jon McBride,
    How can I trust Autel when the support center won't give a straight answer this question and Enterprise drones don't qualify for Autel Care?
    Me: "In this hypothetical, the drone is at the bottom of the ocean. Irretrievable for all time. It's never coming back. Ever. If Autel deems it was my fault, whether or not that's true, what is the price that I would have to pay to get a new or refurbished hull, 6K gimbal, and battery? Certainly not the entire price of that same rugged bundle. So what would that price be?"
    Support: "Hello ,
    I cannot give a price. As I stated those quotes can only be given by the repair team upon evaluation. "
    WHAT? I'm seeing why Jon admits that Autel has support issues. I have an EVO 2 Enterprise 6K v3 in a box just waiting for an answer to this (I think) simple question. The future of the drone in the box drone is dependant on the answer to this question. That future will either be I take it out of the box and fly it or I send it back the store. My confidence in Autel is deteriorating.

    Hi, good discussion. I have the EVO ll V1 8k and 6k, Smart Controller V1, and 2 Live Decks. I'm a bit annoyed that my EVO ll drones have been made obsolete. Autel promised many different payloads, but only obsoleted the V1 while moving to V2 and V3. IMO the upcoming DJI Mavic 3 Classic and Mini 3 SE will kill the Autel Nano and Lite. Autel Customer support can't keep up with current Autel models, and they expect to support new drones? Autel RIP.

      Technology changes continuously. We are used to new model phones, computers and cars being introduced. Why should drones be different? How can any drone company stay in business without introducing new models?

    I live near a completed array of different types of airspace. As long as my Autel Evo II flies, it will be my main drone. "Flysafe" has let me down on numerous occasions, and actually put me in physical danger on two of them. Letting your system take control of your drone, is not something that I consider safe. By the way, on the color thing. It's just not DJI color and people have their LUTs set for that. It's a little warmer and on the teal side in low light. DJI tends to be cold and more magenta.

  • @limewoodimaging9507
    @limewoodimaging9507 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jon spoke about support. Perhaps Autel should use internal simulators that support staff could use to simulate user problems and see exactly what is happening. Multiple virtual machines running different firmware versions, connected to by supported RC devices.

    Remote I.D .. Pilot institute is going to have to develop a course for how to get certified to master using a carrying weapon ! all of us that are already playing by the rules already have all our drones registered , then we get waivers to fly , is't this enough ? not to mention being 107 certified . I hope they figure out ways to make this a safe direction.

  • @goldenu2
    @goldenu2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Here's the problem: they sell features that don't work. Our company paid $5k for an RTK-equipped Evo Enterprise, and to this day it can't complete a multi-battery mapping run without having to be repeatedly restarted. Autel's genius answer: make smaller missions. No, Autel, make your crappy product *work*. Additionally, the "follow me" mode won't follow anything for more than about 100 feet (I even tried a big rig since it kept losing smaller targets), in short, this drone even a year after purchase is still a broken device...that they have the gall to call "Enterprise ready." End all of this with the almost nonexistent support, and money given to Autel would be better used if you just set it on fire.

    if a company gets to many Chips for their market why can't the company use the leftovers chips for the next new products ? , I bought a Evo pro version 1,
    and the smart controller 2 weeks before the V2 came out of course i wasn't pre informed I was frustrated maybe more hard core then Apple is this industry .
    now there is a V3 you either feel like you have a flying dinosaur Taradactal if you wish, just 2 years later., can't really think about it to much, I do have Evo lite + ,of course not compatible with the smart controller , I guess I like technological abuse. if you can find a way to make good money with the drones you can take the hits and have a lot of nice back ups and vacation drones haha .

    It is a shame and disgrace what is heard from a representative of AUTEL. 8 months after its release the AUTEL Lite+ has not only not completed what the drone is supposed to have, (A-log 10bit, Active track 2.1, etc) but with the latest firmware 1.4.26. IT RUINED THAT WORKED PROPERLY (WB, all PRO settings)!!! With quite high prices, you TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE beta testers. You better shut down your company, which with your behavior, it's only a matter of time before that happens.
