    In 1905, there were only 75 Greater one horned rhinos left in the world. At that time, the Sumatran Rhinos numbered a few thousands, even found all the way from NorthEast India, Myanmar into Malaysia and Sumatra. Today, after a century of conservation, Greater one horned rhinos have recovered to 4000 individuals while the Sumatran and Javan rhinos are on the edge of extinction. It's a sad reality.

      It's no longer true the Javan rhinoceros is increasing in numbers. I just read an update on Sumatran and javan rhino populations by Margaret Kinnaird, an internationally noted wildlife authority.
      Recent reports indicate the Javan rhinoceros has completely disappeared from parts of its range within Ujung Kulon NP and its numbers are now lower than in decades. That is, if it's population had been reportedly accurate, which has been called into question.
      The Indonesian govt in recent yrs has deprioritized conservation and the rhinos and other species of wildlife have now apparently been written off by the Indonesian govt. The sumatran rhino has not been seen in Southern Barisan Mtns in at least a decade and is believed to be extinct there.
      There are no new conservation priorities coming out of Jakarta. Everything is infrastructure growth and escalating deforestation to make room for oil palms. The Aceh govt is making plans to eliminate Gunung Leuser NP. That's Indonesia today.

    We need to protect their habitat as its just as important as saving the species other wise whats the point its not fair otherwise people need to stop destroying the rainforest and causing destruction and killing these precious animals including elephants ect from zoe in England I.o.w

    That actual fuzzy rhino

    • @CoreyMillionaire2029
      @CoreyMillionaire2029 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are actually more hairy and fuzzy in captivity because in the wild, their hair gets worn down when they constantly travel through thick vegetation along their routes to water and shelter.

    ❤️💖 We still need to protect and save these endangered rhino species from going extinct. They are such rare and beautiful animals. They remind me so much of the extinct triceratops dinosaurs that once roam the Earth. We lost the triceratops but we don't want to lose the rhino. They should preserve rhino DNA like Jurassic Park for future cloning to save rhino species! 💖❤️

    Here's what we do: get Doc Brown trashed on shrooms, throw his ass into a hobo hangout, swipe the Delorean, travel back 500 years ago, doze the rhinos in TMNT Ooze, equip them with paramilitary gear & come back to the present where humanity is dominated by the Rocksteady Republic. :P

    What's funny is Indonesian people are proud of their forests but when you saw them they throw all their trashes on the street, on their river, smoking at the public places, and doing the deforestation. And there's even a saying "Cleanliness is part of our faith (kebersihan sebagian dari iman)".
    They're just a bunch of hypocrite people.
