Dogma is one of my favorites, and I was a minister for 16 years! Movies like this helped to keep me open-minded and reminded me not to take myself too seriously. I'm a huge Kevin Smith fan, too! Great list!

My dad watched ‘a Christmas Carol’ with Alister Sim every Christmas Eve, late in the evening with a glass of wine. He passed away this year, but I am going to continue the tradition. The film is so special to me because it reminds me of my dad, and it is just so good. I personally love ‘That Thing You Do!‘ It is one of my favourite movies, so sweet and lighthearted. I love the scene where Liv Tyler is running down the street screaming because she hear the song on the radio. 🙂❤️

I lead a busy and amazing life that I love so fiercely, but every once in a while (when I can't shut my brain down), I come here to see what you're up to. Hi Mary, I usually don't comment but I just wanted to say thank you. I took a pregnancy test a couple of days ago that came back positive. My husband and I were super excited. I did bloodwork to check how far along and to confirm but it came back negative. My symptoms are that of an early miscarriage which feel as if I were pregnant. We are both very disappointed and sad, but your videos have been helping relax and get the sleep I need. Thank you ❤️

Had the same thing happen to us our first positive pregnancy / test. It’s known as a chemical pregnancy… awful 😞 such a hard thing to go through bcs your hormones and just the fact that doesn’t seem real rollercoaster of emotions

A Christmas Carol with Alistair Sim is one of my favorites as well. It’s a tradition in my family to watch it after Christmas dinner. Since I live 800 miles away from my family, I only get to spend Christmas with them every other year( we switch off between my family and my husbands) but even when I’m not with them, I still watch this movie.

I've come back to my family home for a few days for a mini vacation, my grandmother has cancer and isn't doing well along with my best friends husband and now my mother in law was diagnosed..my own health, both mentally and physically hasn't been great lately so I took some time away to focus on myself! I really needed this today Mary, thank you a millions times over 💜
“That Thing You Do!” Is my favorite Tom Hanks movie! Great music. Even from the side characters. The soundtrack is great to listen to. I think “Mr. downtown” is my favorite song from that movie.

Serendipity- I remember it was almost panned when it came out but it’s such a sweet love story with a great sound track

Yesss Dogma and Shaun of the Dead!! Two of my favorites as well!! Dogma is a majorly underrated Kevin Smith film, I love it so much though. I'm a huge fan of the Jay and Silent Bob films and Jason Lee, and Dogma has one of my favorite performances of Jason's as the demon Azrael. So cool to see you're also a Dogma fan!!
I just watched an 80’a movie that was SO underrated- Stealing Home (with Jodie Foster & Mark Harmon). It was SO good…tearjerker

I love the original Christmas Carol too but my favorite Christmas movie is Scrooged with Bill Murray so funny! And of course the two made for TV Christmas movies made back in the '80s one was called The Night They Saved Christmas which I watch it today and it's kind of cheesy but still fun and the other one was it came upon the Midnight Clear!
I like "The Man Who Invented Christmas" about Charles Dickins writing A Christmas Carol, with Christopher Plummer as Scrooge
I absolutely love Dogma that movie is the bomb diggity. And actually it is giving me a lot of insight on organized religion and how we should perceive the Bible in its own right but outside of that it's amazing movie that I plan on watching within the next week or so because on the 13th of this month is clerk three and I kind of want to watch everything in that General line of movies. But yes if you were sensitive about your beliefs Dogma would probably not be for you. This is an amazing video it's like going through my grandmother's old videos all over again Thanks for another great video Miss Mary

Shaun of the Dead is in my Top 5, for sure. Simon Pegg is actually a really big zombie and George Romero fan! Love the guy. Btw, it's on Peacock right now, if anyone gets it. Highly recommended.
The cover art for The Man with Two Brains is forever etched in my brain. Saw it soooo many times in the old Take 2 video store in my hometown as a kid. That, and the cover for The Pickup Artist with Robert Downy Jr. I don't know why those particular ones have stuck with me, but they have.
