Shuri (barring some controversy outside of filming) will likely be Black Panther for BP3 and a possible BP4, lol (pushing things all the way through at least Phase 6). The mantle is unlikely to change for a long while
Movie gets a 9 on technical execution but it's a hot 6 from me because of the integrity of the story. This movie needed the Thundercats team up energy of the first BP. Larry is right. This was a high budget LA gang war between black and brown people and it jumped off for similar thin reasoning courtesy of the hand of the colonizer thousands of miles away😒 Wasted opportunity for M'Baku to "finish training Shuri" - cuz he and Okoye should have been training Shuri this whole time cuz of the events of BP and Infinity Saga especially when M'Baku is seen giving big brother energy towards Shuri. Not feeling the anime aesthetic of Riri's suit nor the DBZ trope of killing a loved one for Shuri to get serious and unlock her power 😒 Killmonger as Vegeta, no complaints. Okoye, Namor, Namora, Attuma, Nakia understood the assignment. Angela Bassett was amazing as always but again like Larry said, the immersion wasn't there. I was cheering for Angela Bassett not queen Ramonda if that makes sense. Definitely should have been a Disney plus series where they could have refined it into a movie with a story that's worthy of the technical execution
My mans Larry didn't say nothing wrong in this yo he was spot on with everything usually ik ppl give him hell because he is hilarious with his takes but he's hella right with this movie
Larry is right about the interference thing, but I’ll give some pushback because by the time T’Challa was found, Kilmonger had become king & BP, which also shouldn’t’ve happened since T’Challa never surrendered or died (again, he wasn’t found until after Kilmonger had been thought the winner). All rules were kinda off at that point
Larry is in the zone 😂. I think TChaka left Erik because he would have been a threat to TChalla for the throne of Wakanda. I’m not saying it’s right but after watching Game if Thrones when it comes to power and the throne you have folks who don’t care about blood unless it helps you advance
If they made Lupita the Black Panther, It would be the greatest catsuit performance since Serena... We could have forgiven them for back-seating M'Baku
One of the first things Mexican namore did was illegally sneak into another country ? Lmfao this movie is hilarious but not in the way they intended 😂😂😂
Cast Caleb McLaughlin as young Thalla. The actor is 21 year old. He look like Chadwick and Lypita mix. He is a great actor and we can see him grow into the role. Ths is the opportunity to see the walkabout where he can meet Storm
Having that child is and will not be the character of King T'CHALLA. Anyone who will accept that compromise then you would accept anything that they throw at us no matter how disrespectful it is to the character and to the Lore . This movie in principal is trash. As a fan I do not want a fake T'CHALLA.I want the real one that was introduced to us in Captain America civil war this is why they should have recast the character and find another exceptional black male actor who can play the part. T'CHALLA as a character would never hide or let his child growup in another country. It's like what they're trying to say is his own country is a third world despot backward country and he's ashamed of having his child growing up in the country that he himself grew up in.That's BS.
Main issue is that he's physically small, tho. Maybe he fills in some more before they have to consider a new actor to play the teen. Beyond that, already being so readily tied into Stranger Things likely hurts some. Keith Powers fits, but he's too old for teen ToT (maybe the future adult coming back or something). Shameik Moore, Kelvin Harrison Jr, Tyree Brown, Tyson Stewart, Tyrell Williams, unknown in the US from Africa, etc (grown young men, who you can cast to be 15/16/17, while allowing them to grow into the role and eventually be the adult actor)
@@igweugo ShamieK Moore is almost 30, Tyree brown a little on the light side, Tyson Stewart is small himself, I can see Tyrell Williams pull it off. Caleb looks like those two the most phenotypically. But that is only if they allowing him to grow into the role. Which I hope so that we can see him meet up with Storm during Black Panther's walkabout.
@@BlkNerdnlonely Shameik Moore is 27 years old; clean shave, clean cut, style him a certain way and I think there's enough there to stretch and present him as 17/18 years of age. Caleb McLaughlin simply needs to be physically bigger for the role, imo.
Young Killmonger was outside playing basketball. They may not have known there was a son. And the killing of the kings brother if I remember correctly was an accident
Zuri was Uncle James. They knew of N'Jadaka; it's simply that Erik had never known Wakanda beyond the stories of home told by his father. But yes, the killing was incidental .
It really was lacking in direction. Disney feels like it was implementing an agenda, but Shuri in the movie did try her best, hopefully they fix the movie, if theres another movie to continue the series.
Larry was being way too wrong and strong about T'Chaka killing his treasonous brother who tried to Zhuri, the king's undercover agent. 😭 Seeing him the first time, I understand why he's called Killmonger
IMO, it wasn’t so much that Shuri wasn’t strong as an actress, I didn’t like the storyline much. I think she did fairly well with what she was given. Realistically, the actress who plays Shuri is very slim so it was unrealistic, even with BP powers to beat someone as strong as her and twice her size.
I love how Larry will start off making some sense but then drifts off into bs that makes no sense and then doubles down on his bs. How are you going to act as if Okoye and Namor are on even terms because they both have a vibrainum spear when Namor is a powerhouse to begin with. According to Coogler Namor is as strong as the Hulk in water and is as strong as Thor on land. He doesn't even need a spear and that mess about the challenge had me smh. Because M'Baku's people, the fisherman that found him wasn't going to just leave him.I do agree that you aren't supposed to interfere in the fight. The fight technically was not over for two reasons: T'Challa didn't actually die and he never submitted. Therefore, once Nakia and his family revived him with the last Heart-Shaped Herb, T'Challa was within his rights to call out Killmonger and continue the ritual combat. But there's a problem: T'Challa was now cheating. But it wasn't like Killmonger was going to remove the powers of the Black Panther to continue the fight. Coogler does get inconsistent with the story because one of the powers granted by the herb is a healing factor. The stab wound shouldn't have killed Killmonger while having the powers of the Panther. We see Shuri impaled but heals in the new film. Technology repairs her suit but the herb repairs her.
I disagree about this notion that Letitia Wright doesn't have the chops to carry a film. It just wasn't meant to be her movie! If Scarlett Johansen had to start in a Captain America movie instead of Chris Evens, it wouldn't have felt right either! But nobody can say that Scarlett Jo can't carry a film, right?! In my opinion, Letitia Wright did a great job with what she was being given. She didn't try to be the late great Chadwick. One can say that she was trying her best to act her part, as if her lead partner was there with her, whilst he wasn't.
On the Point on the Rules to the Duel for the Crown, T’Challa when he came back and was fighting the rhino tribe he told Killmonger “I’m Still Alive So The Challenge is Still On” and Killmonger said “Man, That Shit Over With” Which is Why T’Challa fought him again and won so he became King because the trail wasn’t over. Other guy is right
I think going into this movie with high hopes of only seeing a strong woman beside a strong man is disheartening. Though, I would love to see more feminized black female characters. I think dismissing the fact that the post credit was giving way to rewrite the new t’challa is showcasing some men’s disdain of woman led action films, specifically this franchise. The demise of Queen Raymonda was necessary. Shuri not accepting the black panther mantle was necessary. M’baku not being lead or prominent in this film was necessary because number 1.. m’baku’s character has NEVER been strong enough to be black panther. His character was always used as comic relief and almost used to mock the most popular thought of what masculinity looks like. Number 2: all those were necessary because I believe the MCU is setting up to wipe the ENTIRE black panther cast clean and start anew with the t’challa (the junior). No, I don’t think that they will lean too much on his name being a junior. I think they just did this particular to give the proper closure and honor to Chadwick and if people weren’t so wrapped up in trying to sabotage women of color for ONE action/marvel movie that they lead, they would see that all the signs are there. To think that t’challa was NEVER going to be recast is juvenile and quite telling of the true position of the argument. Enjoy the movie for what it is and learn about Hollywood and how it’s business works. You “boycotting” it only solves the issues of this never getting the budget it deserves. None the less, I respect your opinions, BK. ❤
@@juanwoodruff6202 they were clearly talking about recasting too soon, though. People wanted this man’s recast to happen for this movie and that just would not have been fair for the new actor. This was a real person. People forget that. I don’t think this has ever happened to a superhero in the past where they literally past between the first and sequel. This was a very delicate subject and yes, a t’challa was missing but his co-workers saw this as the best way to honor their cast mate. I think to crap on the film simply for that is disheartening and disgusting. The film itself was enjoyable. Was it a phenomenon like the first? No. But why? Because there was so much discourse around t’challa not getting recast and mbaku or Daniel kaluya’s character of all people not being present. People weren’t truly upset at the recast of t’challa. They were upset that women were leading this film. It would have been less than ideal to cast any other as lead when the rest of t’challa’s family were women and just like him, acquired the thrown after tragedy. So, again, half of #recasttchalla is mad and disrespectful because of it not being head by a black man. And half actually wanted to see their t’challa back on screen. I just don’t see why this much discourse would be had with a woman of color led film when we all came to the conclusion that shuri would have a moment of temporary lead. Were people not expecting her to have her own BP movie or just temporary for 30 mins of a movie lol. Like let’s be honest
I got to add , Coogler is deep , like a MTF! , the future of Arica being sought after by AFRICOM, when the EV , becomes dominant and petroleum becomes obsolete , and the new military theater will be Africa for coltan and lithium, he blows toe cover on AFRICOM, in the US and machinations ! I feel thats why Coogler put the Countess in there is such a powerful position , that throws everyone off , as if Hydra was really dead or is it ???
A thousand humble apologies , everything I said about this move other then the lack of strong men in Wakanda , I take back! This is one of those movies in the past 20 years , that requires a second viewing, from all Marvel and sci Fi fans , and from the Black and Hispanic community ! There was some phenomenal technology and Coogler put in some deep messages about the present , French military presence in Mali right now , as well as the importance , of Africa helping a troubled Haiti, after they inspired every African nation to liberation! Huerta did the bad guy role , not like Namor in the comics , but like all the Mexican bad guys , we saw in cowboy movies , since "The Magnificent Seven" thats how the Brown bad guy talks and acts, in all those movies, very subtle , and not over the top! Great work, and all that spiritual visions of mom , that brought about Black Brown unity was deep also the paintings , of his castle showed the Black Mayans , on the walls just like real history ! That Shuri went to Thug heaven instead of real heaven was not about entertainment , but about a Catharsis , at looking at what is detestable and ugly, and yes that even can raise conscious ! But that shyt with thr countess in there , is still a mystery even if you see it ten times ! The music and Cultural relevenace both Black and Brown was moving and never done in any movie I have seen in over 45 years
Everyone missed , that Shuri was turning when and told her mother she wanted the world to burn , rather then funeral garments, and when she said that, "then" Submariner felt a kindred spirit and appeared !
Movie is the best in phase four. Didn’t need nostalgia plays of past spider folk or dudes on floating wheel chairs. You can be angry all you want about the queen mother - it doesn’t effect the flow of the story and allows for a cleaner slate moving forward. Awesome job and praise to Ryan Coogler and the rest of the cast. Go see like four times!
The Women of Wakanda would have been a better title for the movie, I agree with Larry. It probably would have been received better. Definitely not a Black Panther movie!
All these black men did this whole review was just complain, complain, complain about this movie. All the hard work and heart that went into this movie just to get shitted on smh. Ryan coogler really could have failed but that black man did his very best to do and it still wasn’t enough for y’all. thankfully this movie will continue to flourish
Larry was right for the most part about the movie. I thought the movie was entertaining despite its inconsistencies in the writing. The first Black Panther movie was black on black fighting. The second was Black vs Brown people. I did not see fighting among the different factions as a negative. Its part of the story in the movies and comics. Letitia Wright can't carry a movie herself yet. She needs to put on some muscle.
Man the way yall are in your feelings about this movie and acting like it wasn't good and piling on is some straight bs. Especially that dude Larry but everyone is entitled to their opinion but it's not a good look.
Are people forgetting that in the books, Shuri does become the black panther for a little bit. Also, to recast tchalla so quick would have been disrespectful. If they did that then it would have been uproar over the fact that oh disney/marvel don't care because they are just replacing him so quick. Ryan presented the script to Chadwick before his passing but unfortunately , he was too tired to read it since he was gravely sick. I think the funneral scene was a nice and perfect for the character and his friend. I'm not sure why there so much hate for black women doing their thing in here. There's going to be another black panther movie and most likely it'll be with his son if the same name. People need to chill because if there was no black panther movie at all then I'm certain people would have an issue about representation.
She does but T'Challa didn't die during that time...The problem isn't Shuri being Black Panther (which is in the comics) it's T'Challa dying (which isn't in the comics)...
Larry is exactly right about the challenge. Y’all are looking at it from an emotional standpoint instead of the actual rules that were stated for the challenge. As far as what rules were stated, they stated it in the 1st BP when M’Baku’s people were not allowed to interfere when T’Challa was fighting M’Baku.
Yeah, I was like I see things happening, but I didn't feel much. I did laugh and I felt a little sad at moments; and I enjoyed the action, the visuals and Namor and his people, but the movie seems to need more editing.
They need to go back and bring out all the dusty comic books. There’s still so many at the old barber shop my dad used to bring me to every weekend he had to get a haircut. I was so excited reading the weekly episodes, so many heroes and villains to rewrite about😊 Come on producers!!! Surprise our new generations so we the parents and grandparents can continue explaining where the fiction came from😅❤ Remember ‘ the phantom’? Who was this mysterious hero all women fell in love with and all villains wanted to remove the mask? Was it an angel? Was it a demon? What kind of monster in disguise? I was a 11 year old falling amazed by all these make believe stories. I read a lot
Having seen the movie, I feel like the production did the best they could with the decisions that they made. Considering, the loss of brother Chadwick. That said, I liked it! Namor was badazz & it will be interesting to see what Marvel does with him going forward. All in all, Shuri was a passable Black Panther. I was not mad at Namor giving Queen Mommy the business because she was making ALL the wrong moves from the start. …And if I’m being honest, I’ve never felt Agent Ross…So there’s that.☝🏿😌 7.75/10_

I’m just confused bc honestly the way BP1 was set up- mainly women made wakanda work. Women held up TChalla. Realistically, if TChalla is gone then MAINLY women would be left behind. So it’s not hard for me to accept a woman led cast in the case of Chadwick’s death. Definitely agree 100% that Ramonda did not have to die, RiRi was unnecessary, Micheal Coles character was unnecessary (or could’ve been better developed), and that MBaku needed for shine!!! But I’m not mad the Shuri became the BP. I liked her acting as well. I’m still hopeful lol. I think they’ll come back harder and I like the direction they are going. It’s very obvious men have their place coming up soon
This is what they should have done in the movie.Yes they should have King T Challah die but the Black Panther himself suddenly appear later In the movie but more Comic accurate with the dark blue costume and cape and this time he doesn't reveal his identity keep him faceless which add the mystery
N'Jobu wasn't murdered in cold blood; King T'Chaka came to arrest him, for him to go back home to face his charges (with likely jail, or worse, for acting against Wakanda in helping Klaue. N'Jobu pulled out his gun, to kill Zuri for being a spy on him, T'Chaka went to save Zuri, diverting the bullet, but also sending out his claws too, spiking his brother
KIKI LAYNE for Shuri!!!! Physically, now that the character's the Black Panther, I feel Kiki would play the character better.. Check her out in Coming 2 America.. She's clearly playing the warrior SHURI in that. And.. Finally but ain't last.. Why y'all did my lady, Florence Kasumba dirty by IGNORING her..?? Instead of this new dora gal, Aneka..
Forest Whitaker’s character intervened too though. That was against the rules.
@@cc-92 Shit you're right. I completely forgot about that
Larry is in the zone 😂. I think TChaka left Erik because he would have been a threat to TChalla for the throne of Wakanda. I’m not saying it’s right but after watching Game if Thrones when it comes to power and the throne you have folks who don’t care about blood unless it helps you advance
Honestly never thought I would say this Larry is right about them being corrupt and interfering with the challenge. Sorry. Lol!!!! 💛💛💛💛
Uh-oh..Larry has entered the chat. Get your popcorn ready
Yessir!
He does it on purpose for a reaction from people he wants to be the antagonist
@@ill71 in my opinion he was on point. we all don't have to agree
@@factthatdude4059 I agree with a lot of what he says too. I just knew he was going to trigger a lot of people with unfiltered, raw truth.
Larry is right. Is B. Avery saying that it is okay to interfere in the challenge? If this is the case, you should not have the challenge?
Didn't go see one phase 4 movie in the theater!
If they made Lupita the Black Panther, It would be the greatest catsuit performance since Serena... We could have forgiven them for back-seating M'Baku
Not gonna lie that would've been an extra $20 Mil for sure haha
Yes they took men out on purpose. Don't be nice brother...say it with your chest like the other brother 😤
One of the first things Mexican namore did was illegally sneak into another country ? Lmfao this movie is hilarious but not in the way they intended 😂😂😂
I agree with Larry
WOW series but we are probably the only ones that would agree lol
My biggest issue with this movie is that the plot did not make sense!! Cant believe im with Larry on this 😅
Cast Caleb McLaughlin as young Thalla. The actor is 21 year old. He look like Chadwick and Lypita mix. He is a great actor and we can see him grow into the role. Ths is the opportunity to see the walkabout where he can meet Storm
Nah lol terrible actor
T’Challa lost that challenge
Larry is actually right about the challenge being illegitimate by them helping T'Challa.
Larry is me. I feel the same way.
@@igweugo you are correct. It hit me later that Zuri would have mentioned there was a son. So it was in fact cold blooded the way they left Killmonger
Sooooo we just going to ignore the fact that a big ass celestrial rose from the ocean in the Eternals and never mentioned by namor and his people lol
Talokan's in a specific place.
In a similar way to T'Challa, he was ruler of Talokan not of all the oceans of the world
I agree with Larry 💯
Larry again is 1000% correct!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
The movie got a 6.5 out of 10 in my book.
Shuri was not strong as an actress....agreed.
Larry on point THE WHOLE DAMN SHOW!!!! LOLOL
Facts!!!😂
After seeing Black Widow, i'd say she can't lol jk but that film was ass cheeks tho.
I have no idea what Larry is talking about in his initial analysis.... I think he seems turned off by no tchalla and that's that
40:33 🤣🤣🤣 Larry got you, she didn't need to go to Haiti to burn them clothes lol 🤣🤣🤣 B, your answer is too funny
Good content. Excellent analysis on all parties
On the Point on the Rules to the Duel for the Crown, T’Challa when he came back and was fighting the rhino tribe he told Killmonger “I’m Still Alive So The Challenge is Still On” and Killmonger said “Man, That Shit Over With”
Which is Why T’Challa fought him again and won so he became King because the trail wasn’t over.
But the writers, director and producer said that they would not recast T’CHALLA, and had no intention in doing so.
You hit the nail on the head 🎯🎯🎯
This is hilarious 18:30 When Larry derail but I can see his passion and see where his point is.
I hope this is the last review for the movie. You have beat this to the point if no return.
Not knocking up content but how many times can you break down one movie 🙏👍👍🤔🤔🤔 just my opinion.
I was thinking the same thing. Brandon a wild man watching this traumatic movie over three times and talking about it four times.
Lmao they need to money. Nothing wrong with that 😅
@@Proself37 lol that's what I was saying on a previous video.
I’m enjoying Larry’s take. I don’t agree with all of it be he makes some valid points. 🤣
How would M’mbaku be able to fight Namor when Namor is a mutant and M’mbaku is human👀👀👀
The White Gorilla 🦍
Can't wait till part 8 jeez
😂😂
Movie is the best in phase four. Didn’t need nostalgia plays of past spider folk or dudes on floating wheel chairs. You can be angry all you want about the queen mother - it doesn’t effect the flow of the story and allows for a cleaner slate moving forward. Awesome job and praise to Ryan Coogler and the rest of the cast. Go see like four times!
Queen mommy got the business because she was moving wrong from the start.
She should have held it down & stayed on the path T’Challa established.
Larry is no Joke!!!! I love it!!!!
I came in knowing Larry was gonna go hard on this film but was not expecting that low of a rating. 😂
I agree with most of what Larry says and I rarely agree with him. Loved his passion.
The Women of Wakanda would have been a better title for the movie, I agree with Larry. It probably would have been received better. Definitely not a Black Panther movie!
Or Woman King 2
All these black men did this whole review was just complain, complain, complain about this movie. All the hard work and heart that went into this movie just to get shitted on smh. Ryan coogler really could have failed but that black man did his very best to do and it still wasn’t enough for y’all. thankfully this movie will continue to flourish
Larry!!!! Highkey right
I have not watched the movie but I think it's like the woman king and waiting to exhale had a disabled baby. Lots of mixed reactions every where
Before I even listen to this, I agree with Larry.
Edit; I take that back.. 25:05 That's a different rulership. Larry still funny tho. #LarryWasRight
Larry I STAND WITH YOU...new suscriber
Cant find part 3?
Larry be right to a degree, but he be misstating points or leaving out whole facts all together🤣🤣🤣
Larry was not a happy camper 😂
You clearly don't know what you are talking about.
She does but T'Challa didn't die during that time...The problem isn't Shuri being Black Panther (which is in the comics) it's T'Challa dying (which isn't in the comics)...
Yo this guy Larry is on point haha....hes worst than me hahaha
Does Larry hate black female superheroes? He is definitely in the manosphere.
It’s seems so. The missing theme of patriarchy in this film was intentional and I’m here for it 🤷🏽♀️
Yes he does. He don't like blk women for some reason.
Y'all making up rules
Yeah, I was like I see things happening, but I didn't feel much. I did laugh and I felt a little sad at moments; and I enjoyed the action, the visuals and Namor and his people, but the movie seems to need more editing.
They need to go back and bring out all the dusty comic books. There’s still so many at the old barber shop my dad used to bring me to every weekend he had to get a haircut. I was so excited reading the weekly episodes, so many heroes and villains to rewrite about😊
Come on producers!!!
Surprise our new generations so we the parents and grandparents can continue explaining where the fiction came from😅❤
Remember ‘ the phantom’?
…And if I’m being honest, I’ve never felt Agent Ross…So there’s that.☝🏿😌
7.75/10_

This was a great discussion.
If all of you were in a movie brendan, larry, eman, lamont, elliot , pay or wait, elliot and it was good and 1 of you died ( God forbid) how would you feel if some people who are fans but don't know you personally were pushing #recastbrendan for instance. The family thought he should be recast too soooooo......
@@justmyopinion84 his brother said so yes , but my comment was based in understanding how they would feel and how you would feel in a similar situation.
@@justmyopinion84 Chad’s family doesn’t have to act in the film though.
The okoye suit looks themed by Egyptian culture. Kinda just blending historic African images but it’s a marvel movie so it’s not that serious
Larry wasn't lying about anything. I agree with everything said
N'Jobu wasn't murdered in cold blood; King T'Chaka came to arrest him, for him to go back home to face his charges (with likely jail, or worse, for acting against Wakanda in helping Klaue.
Cooglee should've shedded some spotlight on AYO. She's been there since Civil War, alongside T'Chaka adn T'Challa. She's the first and original Dora Milaje we ever saw in the AMOUNT prior to Okoye.
And after that awesome guest spot on Falcon and Winter Soldier, she's shown she's more than capable of rocking a bigger role for her character to play.. AND, she made a really good looking couple with Bucky.
But, noooo... They HAD to make her the gay one. 🙄
Or, I dunno.. Maybe she's bi. 🤷♂️
That'd be interesting for Bucky to find out tho.. He might be into that.. 😆
22:08 oh shit, Larry might be rite
#RecastBlackPanther #RecastShuri
Wakanda forever Missed the perfect opportunity to introduce Dr. Doom he should’ve been the one pulling the strings like Zemo in Civil War Lupita Nyong’o would have been a great black panther to honor to Charla until their son can take up the mantle
Not the phantom of the opera okay?
That was a separate horror book😅
So this dude would prefer that Killmonger was still King of Wakanda and T'Challa was left to die after the first Challenge. Okay. 😂😂😂
Like the rest of the community I'm with Larry. What movie is B.Avery watching 😆
I didn't like the thug nerd amalgam of rere Williams.... She couldn't just be intelligent she has to be hood too... That just took me out aint nobody ghetto at m.i.t. stop it
Also i didn't like the story recycling they did
Namor was just kilmonger from out of the ocean... And shuris whole story arc was just the black panther story from civil war parent dies child seeks vengeance just to realize vengeance aint the answer
Movie felt very contrived and plot driven
I like val and ross story line just could of been less of it and maybe a winter soldier cameo with ayo would of been nice
Attaching wakanda to current events in the mcu
The whole they got vibrainum too and just so happened to give her fibers from the plant she needed boring she should of had to go to the ancestors to find the herb in wakanda and have some hubris that the science mind doesn't know everything that would of gave us some character development and we could of had a dialogue with her father
There are other issues they should have recast
They should not have included the death of the actor into their story its tacky tasteless and weak writing and it halted the progression of the story thats all for now
