    I don’t know why RF doesn’t just drop an 8 channel. 125 x 8 (4ohm) and bridgeable to 250 x 4 (4ohm). That would just solve everything.

      Thank you Brandon for your considerate idea. Unfortunately, demand is very low for an 8-channel amplifier. We say this because when we released the Punch 360.6 6-channel amplifier, we didn't sell many, despite promises that it would be a hot seller. Part of developing a custom product is you need to be able to recoup your investment. People will say that's being greedy ... but it's not ... it's actually being financially responsible so you can continue to survive and build the next great thing. We work very hard here in Arizona to develop unique products with a high level of performance and unique technology. Performance is the #1 request we consistently get from fanatics, and we'll continue to do our best to pack as much performance and technology into each model released. Thank you for being a part of those fanatics that push us to develop those next great products.

    What amp would I need to power a pair of M2-8 speakers and a pair of m2-8h speakers?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need anywhere from 60W up to 300W per speaker to drive them. These are very high sensitivity speakers so they are not "power hungry". If you are just running 2 speakers and nothing else on the boat, you could do either of these:
      M2-200X2 (minimum)
      rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/m2-200x2/
      PM500X2 (ideal)

    So I would need 2 amps M2-300x4 for the new M2-8hb speakers because I have 2 sets of them and I guess I would bridge them for each pair?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use (1) M2-300X4 amplifier for all 4 speakers. It's rated to produce 50 Watts x 4 @ 4Ω, but real dynamic power is 70W per channel, which is plenty of power for those speakers.

    It doesn't have a fan or visible ventilation ports (like the Kenwood XR901-5 does), how could not be overheated?...specialy if you install it under a car seat or a closed space

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is our 3rd generation of Prime Series amplifiers, so we've taken previous data to make subsequent improvements to the operation of the circuitry and heat dissipation technologies. These utilize our MEHSA 4 substrate that efficiently pulls heat away from the MOSFETs so the "engine" runs cooler. They also utilize Class-D topology so they run cooler than your typical Class-AB amplifier. Regardless of what amplifier you use, ANY amplifier installed in a closed space should have *some* sort of ventilation. Keep in mind, fan cooled amplifiers are not immune to this because the fan will simply recirculate hot air if it's in a closed space.

    I want to run 4 rfm2 8h speakers but don't know what amp to use

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry we missed your question.... the M2-8H speakers are rated to handle 300 Watts RMS. A great amp is the Punch PM600X4. Although its continuous power is 75 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohm, it produces much more and should be fine for these speakers. Keep in mind, you don't need to apply 300 Watts to these speakers for them to sound loud since their sensitivity rating is so high. You can find out more info on this amp here: www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/pm600x4/

    Too bad there are none available anywhere. I bought a P1000x5 6 months ago and it never came in with no information when it will be back in stock, then or now in the 7th month... I purchased a 3000$ system in March of 2020 an I still haven't heard it ...

      Unfortunately, the pandemic has hit a lot of companies hard because everyone has been forced to stay home. When people get bored, we want to work on projects, so demand for product blew-out inventory plans that a lot of companies had. We are doing everything possible to get product back into the pipeline, and we appreciate fanatics like you for your patience. Question ... did the dealer outright make you purchase all the product up front, or did they simply request a "deposit" to reserve your place in line for the product?

      @@rockfordfosgate Here is the saddest part. I am a medical courrier. I drive 300- 800 miles every day, 7 days a week. Mostly carring Covid-19 test from Lab to lab. when I bought it, it was in stock. I took it in to be installed and... The unit had an issue and could not be installed. It was on sale ( it isn't anymore)and it was on order for a new one, that never came. And since March I am painfully aware, all day, 8-16 hours a day, 7 days a week. That it isn't in my car and no word from anyone when if ever, I will get it. It is 4am and I have to go to work now and be aware about it for another 16 hours/800 miles.

    Braces and a ball cap on a grown man? Not knocking braces, I have had them and thankful. But I am a grown man and would never wear a ball cap if I was in a professional setting like making a video, just curious the demo they looking at?

      FYI - A valueless comment like that combined with a user name of “Top Gun” smacks of someone desperate to be perceived as powerful and important. Sorry you didn’t get enough hugs as a kid, but being an anonymous a$$hat on TH-cam is not a great solution. Try harder.
