This technology is not really new, neither to the UAV nor the manned aircraft market. Right after WW2 the "Aeromatic Propeller" came out that works on the same principle, although the technical implementation is a bit different. It was available on a number of certified aircraft like the Cessna 120/140/170 and more. Apparently they are still somewhat available ( www.aeromatic.com/ ), although I have no idea about performance and reliability. Just learned about their existence when reading through the TCDS of my Cessna 140.

whats the biggest , longest prop you have.. and can you do 5 and 6 prop systems... doc johnny
I would think this passive prop pitch technology was already available?
Then again I'm not an aviation expert :-P
well, please make it smaller, like 5" diameter for quadcopters
