I just upgraded to 5.4 and joined Sphere. I am new to this whole digital music and DAW game, so can't comment on previous versions as I didn't have version 4 long before upgrading to this latest version. Hi David, a good tutorial as usual, thx. For the send level, if you put the pointer of your mouse on the send bar, you can adapt the level with your mouse wheel. Cheers, Frans.
Totally agree with you on that ridiculous tiny SENDS slider. Why would they make something that will obviously get a lot of use so small. I’m visually impaired, and on my main system for Studio One, I have a fader port, but trying to see that little slider on my travel laptop is very difficult.

I know what you mean about half implemented features. For instance, back in v4 they added the ability to hold the Ctrl key, click on the plug-in on the mixer and with Ctrl held down you can simply drag the plug-in away from the mixer and it will remove it. Great. Unfortunately you can't select multiple tracks, hold CTRL and drag multiple plugins off several tracks.
Studio One needs some sort of "Control Room" page to supercede the Listen Bus. There could be multiple listen buses, metering and multiple speaker sets, with room EQ compensation via Sonarwork or similar. None of this would print to a a mix render. I don't use Cubase, but I saw in another forum where Cubase has something like this. It seems like a great addition, since Studio One doesn't have a possible listen bu on the Project Page. Wouldn't you want speaker correction there? Also, you could have one or more reference tracks that showed up there.
Also I cannot believe the letters of the track names are still only a single pixel wide. My eyes are bleeding everytime I'm trying to make out what's what

I was out of the loop for a while just practicing my drums only but I’m back at it. When I updated my studio one professional I’ve had for years now it only updated to ver 3.6. Is version 5 a paid upgrade or do I maybe need to update my MacBook Pro to get it to update to a newer version? Thanks
Can you control the pan of stereo sends individually yet? For example hard left guitar sent hard right to a reverb return. Also is there a way to easily mirror the panning of a send with the channel, for example a tom panned say 50% left sent to a reverb and the send is automatically 50% left

It looks great. Since some time I did not use Studio One. Most of the great features are there in reaper. I wish also see quick send fader also in reaper, any way I can open the send dialog and there is big send fader. I do remember that I have some troubles with VST instrument in Studio one 5 when cake as some time lagging. I like the studio one alots, but Reaper is incredibly faster and extremely well coded. I have many sessions loaded with huge amount of VST and reaper is handling them all without any sign or feel. By the way Reaper has excellent support and community in addition frequent updates.
You mentioned "console emulation" as pertains to your workflow; besides SSL 360 plugin, what other "console emulation" plugins (not mere channel strip emulations) are out there (that can run independent of hardware, like SSL 360 can)? Thanks! Cheers!

Only problem I am having is my I/O settings have restored to default and if i set new ones, the next time I open Studio One It has returned to default.
They still haven't implemented "change the plugin folder on the plugin manager" functionality. With hundreds of plugins you must have known that it's a burden to drag the plugins around to change folder, if you make custom folders
Really enjoying working with Studio One right now. 5.4 has been flawless for me. Agree about the send level sliders. :/

The update is paid I believe but you need to check with the Presonus website to be sure

I have problems with 3d part plugins like melodyne and so on. I use Mac Mini M 1 with S1 5.4.

Since updating to Studio One 5.4, the listening channel no longer appears in my CS18AI mixer. I contacted Presonus but no response. Any ideas?
