To think people are still discovering marcelito more than 10 years since he first started singing on stage is incredible! His duel voices is what makes him special but Hearing his songs in foreign languages he doesn't speak is absolutely incredible his ability to mimic sounds and sing in pitch and clarity is amazing,. His mandarin and Spanish covers are probably his best performances if you didn't see him singing you never would believe it was him. My favorites are Listen and never enough which after hearing his celine dion cover of power of love really shows off his female vocal ranges and his many male vocal songs like perfect are equally amazing to listen to.

Marcelito is a gift, truly a God given gift! His back story is tragic and then amazing. He is vocally untrained and sings in 5 languages, but is also only fluent in his own native Filipino language. His mother deserted him on the streets when he was 7. Father was in prison. He did odd chores to get food and sang to himself to keep from being so scared. I believe he was on streets for 6 or 7 years. I know at one time he worked in a poultry plant. He started singing in the local restaurants with a band and eventually competed and won on Philippines Got Talent. About 3 years ago he went on AGT Champions competition here in the US and came in 4th, highest placed singer. He’s married with one child. When he’s not performing all over the world, he lives in his old home town and helps those less fortunate.
My dear young Lady, don't take this the wrong way but, you were transfixed just as my 102 year old Sicilian Great Grand Mother when I showed her this. She speaks primarily Italian and is quick to correct gramatic errors. She muttered Bravo, Mama-mia and Bravismo several times during the performance. At the end she looked at me and declared,"He is an Angel sent by God and he must be Italian by proxy, his Italian is perfect. My Gram is my hero and if she says Marcelito is an Angel, who am I to disagree?

There is a tradition in the Phillipines called "doble kara", which is being able to switch voices like this, but he's the best of all time afaik. He has a supportive partner and an adorable child now and tours extensively.
His voice is not of this earth. I am mexican and I have been a life long lover of great music and consider myself to have a good ear for great voices. Another artist who will blow you away is the late Eva Cassidy. She does the best cover you will ever hear of the iconic - Over The Rainbow.
