Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io. The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. This is a Dev's take on Victim #1. Mario accidentaly kills Luigi and realizes that nothing around him is real, just a game. He then goes on a rampage killing everyone he sees.

This song's really grown on me. Definitely my favorite in the mod and I think I like it more than anything in Mario's Madness V1. I really appreciate how the song uses the Mario World leitmotif to develop the feel of the song throughout, and the more I think about the mod's interpretation of Victim 1, the more I appreciate it.

Since he blows the castle at the end of the ROM I've always imagined this being a castle calamity but maeio realizes that he is stuck at his futile attempts of blowing the castle and just snaps, blows the castle up after opening his eyes, and somehow turns into victim 1(lazy explanation, code).

You are kind of right but mostly wrong.
1. This song uses a reinterpretation of the romhack (much like how many people create reinterpretations of sonic.exe).
2. The entity Bf is battling is not victim #1, he is known as Endgame.
3. Mario was never the villain of the romhack. The ARG shows that mario is innocent and tried to findout what happened to victim #1, only to wind up suffering the same fate.

Technically it’s an alternate version of Victim #1. In the Horrorbrew wiki, it states that ENDGAME, the Mario here, this is Victim #1 in its universe, not the ARG victim

@@rabies6418He's actually a version of Mario who accidentally killed his brother Luigi and discovered he was in a game. He then basically lost his mind and killed everything in the game. His code got really corrupted as he did this and that's why he looks like that in his second form which is technically his true form. He's also called Endgame by the way.

honestly i dont like the path they took when having a take on the creepypasta, it's just too different from MARI0 and what it was meant to be, they could have used their creativity for some sort of expansion on the coronation day (as it has LOTS and LOTS of interpretations and theories that both make sense and dont at the same time), yet they used it on MARI0, the mario creepypasta that has the least amount of potential for interpretations and is purposely left ambigous with no hints at all for any established timeline, resulting in this pretty lazy (in my opinion) version of MARI0, it has 0 relation to it other than someone killing (which happens in all creepypastas really) and victim #1's face
and i mean this has been done before, self-aware videogame characters that end up insane which results in killing people while their current form is a facade or disguise to what they really are (examples are the baker peach or in an extreme case chaotix) but having his true (and mainly meant to be iconic) appearance just be forced by having code affect him, i dunno chief it just sounds pretty lazy, at least with chaotix it's at least justified because he's meant to be the wechnia bug that was supposed to be tails in knuckles chaotix, so it's reasonable he has such a distorted form and ends up killing for the sake of reuniting with his lost code and become whole again, or how the baker got impatient from being restrained and kidnapped by bowser without anyone to help so she just started collecting mario corpses for cakes to tease the player, her true appearance isn't too noticeable (as it's just her putting on a crooked/malicious smile) but you can notice it enough like an on and off switch
my point is, what was the need to add a completely different version of a popular and known creepypasta when they could have either tried to interpret the creepypasta as it was meant to be followed as, or choose another exe/creepypasta to make a song about? there are much more easier choices like the baker or a story just as cryptic as the coronation day known as "forest level" that if i'm not mistaken is made by the same creator, seeing how they gave lore to the third eyed daisy smash trophy bug they could have grabbed another thing to make a creepypasta/exe out of, like the hell valley sky tree shadow figures from mario galaxy 2

while I highly disagree with that video about fnf creators "not respecting" their source material, this is just way too far. The second phase is meant to resemble victim #1, however it completely fails because of how much it deviated in appearance from the original image. The original image was designed to make you feel disturbed by taking place in close proximity to a supposed dead body. While no fnf mod will be able to properly reciprocate this, they could atleast try. The first phase of victim #1 in this mod is, for some reason, a Mario look-alike, which i could not possibly fathom a reason as to why, and the second phase, which is actually supposed to resemble the image, just looks like some stupid-looking offbrand superhero, which completely negates the disturbing factor of being too close for comfort. Not to even mention the fact that it still has a visible eye, despite the creepypasta famously saying "eyes were nowhere to be found". Hell, that's basically the catchphrase of the creepypasta and they just so obliviously ignore it for no reason. If anything, it would have been easier to cut phase one, and make a giant head that moves around on screen instead of a full-bodied manchild that still wears blankets like a superhero cape.
I like it tho.
