I'm a retired hairstylist and I'm very impressed with this technique. This is what I was looking for. All of the videos I've watched, someone FINALLY let the natural hair out and did not bleach the whole section of hair. I've seen MANY tease-lights on every color of their natural hair, and the end result was totally blonde, except the out growth. What I just watched now, I thought it was BEAUTIFUL AND NATURAL just like she was in the sun... I love it!! Awesome job!! 😍👌👌👏👏👏💯💯❤️🔥❤️🔥‼️
Wait! Why am I just now finding out this channel? I looked through so many patchy and blotchy TH-cam videos while doing my research, and gave up the idea of getting this done. Wish I had seen this sooner! Loved the result!
I’m a professional Cosmo and this is great results ! I don’t get it , why so many dislikes you’ve got ? Reality is that balayage comes in many forms and depending on clients desired outcome too! I love ❤️ when the hair is virgin. 😂 you can deliver the most natural sun kiss balayage results . Good job hun 😍
God bless you for putting on soothing music during the silent parts instead of that obnoxious annoying music in most hair videos! When that starts I always have to bail because it shatters my nerves. This was enjoyable to watch.
Hello! Awesome video! As a fellow cosmetologist I just want to add a little info because I recently completed a Redken Color Class and learned that the Shades EQ Gloss is supposed to be applied on dry hair and also it needs to process for a full 20 minutes. Since using this method the gloss lasts a lot longer on my clients. Now the whole salon does it this way. We were all sitting in the class going ok we gotta change some things. ♥️
Oh wow! This is AMASING!!! I wanted this effect for ages, but never seen it so i cannot expain to my hairdresser. Thanks for this video. U r really good!
A great technique that i use all the time, being a stylist of 17yrs i got my first formal warning using this technique in the current salon I'm working in as I did not apply a demi to the roots and blended out a root shade into a balayage.
Hey--I just wanted to say thank you for posting these videos. I got pregnant my first month of booth renting a year and a half ago and since life has been a whirlwind. I love being a mom, but it doesn't necessarily mean I can afford classes that I'd like to attend or buy online. These are so great for me to learn these modern techniques and use on my clients. Thank you so much! You are a blessing 👍🏻😍🙏🏼
radicallytubular at least your finding ways to educate yourself. I got pregnant 3 months after started at my first salon and that was 1999 so there wasn't youtube to watch. So I think it's great that your motivated. And you can go far. I started like you and now have my own TH-cam channel so you'll do fine!
You are awesome! Love the way you communicate to us! I'm an old stylist, and so thankful for videos like yours showing how to do the newer trends in hair coloring.
Quedo muy lindo. La mayoria de los videos que he visto en donde hacen balayage, las chicas ya tienen decoloraciones previas o californianas, tu modelo tiene el pelo oscuro y sin embargo le quedo hermoso y elegante. gracias !
This looks so beautiful and it turned out so natural I'll definitely be trying this method with my mannequin head when school is opened again thank's ♥️😍
Excellent teaching Lexi!!!! You stand out against your competition. Phenom execution and delivery on video!! Speed up and voice easier and showing the finished results so wonderful!!! So easy to comprehend. BLESS YOU!!!!! Much continued Success ;}
Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost the account password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
@Jasper Saint Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I have used light master for balayage, but I cover it with film. I know it's not designed for open air so I find this application very interesting, as I never would have considered doing it! Nice work
Your work is always so gorgeous and I love your tutorials!!! One thing I would really love to see is an in depth explanation and demonstration of how you free hand balayage just like this!
I've tried a million different balayage techniques before and use a paint brush just like you and even the exact same Matrix lightener because that's what we have at our salon and with every single balayage attempt I get harsh lines :( Every single one. It's very discouraging.
Sarah Smith It's very difficult for me to grasp this technique I guess. I'm scared to do any balayage techniques on clients because of the harsh lines I always get. Idk what I'm doing wrong :(
After painting the hair take it between your thumb and index finger (thumb on top) and massage the bleach in by just moving your fingers up and down almost like a teasing motion. Do this just at the very top of the line not the whole strand and this should help to smooth out any harsh lines.. Just a little tip that might help out! :)
I don't know if this is appropriate or not but if its not please forgive me for asking. I was wondering what u charge for this exact process? Im always either under charging or i feel charging too much...
Louann Mckethan I asked the same question...it is good to be paid what we’re worth as it takes time and we are all on a schedule and I’m sure it depends on how much product application is needed too! But good question!😉
Iv got a ballayage to do tomorrow but that wasn't out when I done hair dressin from 96/2001 so I haven't seen ballayage been done so I'm lookin at some videos of it being done thanx what would we do without all this now eh Google &You Tube!xx

nice work lexi! I like the music you played in the background, its meditative and relaxing so the viewer can absorb the content of the video. better than those obnoxious techno music that everyone else has on theirs.
Hey Lexi, is it just the camera angle or did you change the sectioning on the heavy side of her front section to the finer side? It looks more horizontal on the heavy side and more vertical on the other but maybe it's because your sections were going back! Hope that made sense. I would love a video on what your favorite balayage and foil placements are! Love your work

I left the brush comment. It's a chip brush. Like 25 cents per brush. You can even trim the ends of the bristles to stiffen their effect.
Size? Brand? Thank you!
@@ErinRaciell No brand. Its a chip brush from the paint section at any hardware store. They're less than a dollar.
Clearest Balayage tutorial I've watched thus far

I wish you would’ve explained why you took diagonal back sections and then diagonal forward sections on the side panels!
Did you bleach the hair first? Befor the ash gray color?
so goodddddddddd
Her hair color very beautiful ❤❤
I noticed that you tone before you shampoo... is that strictly because you're using the PHBonder? Or is that something you learned from the brand? I also use Redken and I wasn't aware you could do that, so I'm pumped to try it!
Great, loved it, easier to understand, and no unnescessary bla bla bla!
Amazing. I’m using this technique the next time I do a balayage xx
Loveeee this ! I just learned a whole lot in 6 minutes. Thanks for sharing !
If the hair is virgin hair would the toner affect the natural colour? Would u need to put a root shade on first and blend down if the hair is not previously coloured?x
Do you use bleach especially for balayage technique? Thanks
Hi I'm becoming a stylist myself I just finished school. And I loved the video. I'm just wondering why you used a paint brush from Michael's and not a colour brush like the ones you would get from Sallys?
So lovely!
Are you using regular lightner...or a clay or cream base?... I have done this technique but with regular lightner and I felt it came out spotted
Is that a normal paint brush your using? Also can it be done with normal bleach? Doesnt require foils?
Normal bleach? Hair bleach not bleach that u clean ur house with omg hahah dont do this you dont know anything
thank you so much for posting this video, it is very helpful.. I would like to ask what is surface oil?
What is the brand of your bleach. Was it kaolin bleach powder? Thank you for sharing.
Sooooooooo superbbbbb 👍👍👍 v well done v neat n nice technique i must say !
One thing I have to ask that we r bleaching the hair only from upper side n not feom beneath ?? I mean we have to cutdown only from front n not from under the hair ir backside of hair, is it so ???
Or we have to completely cutdown the hairs fully in v shaped ???
Kindly explain
yes the bleach is going only on top of each section
Gracias muy contenta con la esplicacion e aprendido mucho . Es mi pasión
Great demo, loving it ,thank you for posting !
Thanks Lexi, the Technique so easy & quick and beautiful. Love to meet in person !

I’m not a hair stylist but enjoy watching these videos and I apologize if you’ve already answered this but you mention ph bonder and surface oil..is that something you’ve added with the lightener? Thank u!
PH Bonder can be added to the lightener. It helps strengthen the bonds during the chemical process.

What lightener did you use!?
Hey Lexi! I love this video! How much would you typically mix for a full balayage like this? Thanks!
