I'm surprised there was a steam-powered vessel built in America in the 1960s! Especially since Lac Du Saint Sacrament was built 20 years later as an internal combustion vessel.
Actually, it does have bells. That is still the way the pilot communicates with the engineer. The engineer actually does control the propulsion. It is still operated the way paddle wheelers have been operated for decades.
They really need to do a updated version of these videos, mostly for all the boats and excerusions. Good video btw.
