    So let me tell you all about the siren Dave was talking about. It was an Air Raid siren placed in top of the old grange building by the park in the center. That was put in there sometime during the 'cold war' . Late 70s early 80s it became the 'dinner bell'. 6pm at night that sucker would go off and you would see 50 kids running in 30 different directions and the new kid on the block would be in a panic "What do we do?!" us "Go eat dinner! See you when the sun goes down for hide and seek!" We would also play Tennis in the street, (hardly any cars around) and capture the flag had a 10 mile radious. I'm not making that up! Everything was fair game between Valley View Road and the bottom of Loomis Hill. My brother (Dave's Uncle) told how they hung a flag on a clothesline. The woman saw what they were doing and left it there with her laundry ALL DAY! The other team passed it 30 times! No doubt my generation was one of the last of the ferral children for sure!
