Edit: does this tie in with your "If I could tell her" animatic? Where Keith actually tells him?
That previous animatic was more of a buildup for this one, unintentionally, but it ended up that way. In that one Keith dreamt he was taking to lance about how much Lance really meant to Allura while subconsciously saying things that Kieth likes about Lance that Allura never actually said to him. In that one he wakes up from the dream and realizes he (thankfully) didn’t actually tell Lance how he feels. This animatic is basically when Keith is with Lance on the New Altea paying their respects to Allura by her statue/memorial and he slips up. Keith forgets he’s with Lance and gets lost daydreaming about how he wasn’t as good as Allura (“heather”) and speaks to himself. Keith doesn’t actually say the words of the song out loud, it was more symbolism to Keith mumbling under his breath that he loves Lance but can’t replace Allura. (Do with that what u will, I don’t want to make direct dialect). So Lance hears this legitimately, and it’s not a dream. If I make another animatic (not sure what song I would choose) it will be a follow up to this :)

Hehe I skipped the mental breakdown because when season 8 came out I shipped allurance but now, I’m wondering what the heck was wrong with me.

actually, in an interview, one of the voltron writers admitted that they were going for klance, and that’s why the storyboard artists made klance scenes romantically-coded and drew fanart. but then they suddenly decided allura should have an endgame even though they said she wouldnt, and paired her with lance :’)

Honestly I'm not a Klance shipper but I really like the idea of it, most of the time people call me homophobic for not liking the ship and I feel like I shouldn't have my own opinion because they always find some way to attack me. Idk if it's just me but I honestly didn't ship it and now I kind of do but it's honestly confusing how so much people can ship it without seeing the interview and just say that they ship it with no reasoning.
@@abby6138 yeah, i definitey understand what you mean. I'm a kance shipper not just because they're two pretty faces, i ship them for their dinamics, the expressions when they're togheter, the colour coding, etc. and i was really mad when they released S8 because they were cowards, throwing away a relationship that had up and downs but also a lot of love, it could be THE representation that goes beyond the fact they might be gay, they could be just two people sharing love. A lot of Klance shippers are toxic, it wouldn't have happened what has happened if they didn't act that way. So don't worry, ship who you want and create your own opinions.

Ok no one can convince me that Keith didn’t love Lance. HE was the one that was always there for him. HE was the one who said he liked him for who he was. HE was always the most worried. Lance was always his first choice. He always called out for him first. Allura never looked at Lance until she lost Lotor. It hurt him more than if she had just let him be happy and move on. Lance deserved better and that was Keith 🥺😭

literally ! i saw some people talking about how if they put klance in it would have been really out of the blue and wrong bc they didn’t get the right development but like- allura and lance was actually so so sudden and so out of no where that klance would have actually made more sense. allura suddenly deciding to date lance honestly didn’t seem natural or right for her character at all, since she’d been paying no attention and rejecting him and not taking him seriously in that way the whole show, and i feel like if they made klance happen at that sunset scene it would have felt more natural and not so sudden bc i legit thought that was where that sunset scene was leading to lmao, my brother deadass thought keith just confessed or some thing. idk man i’m still so sALTY AND ITS BEEN AGES SINCE IT WAS OVER BYE
@@lonelypotato3436 I completely agree..the show was a redo in a modern society and it should’ve had what She-ra did. Like, pidge could’ve been non-binary, and Keith could’ve been gay like Shiro. They could’ve kept a Adam alive and given us more exposer than a 2 second clip of Shiro and some guy kissing. Lance could’ve had to learn to love Keith and accept his sexuality as bi. They could’ve done so much and they didn’t and it was honestly so sad. The amount of lgbtq+ potential this show had was crazy and I pray they do another revamp of the show, that would be sooo well received.
@@maddiequill7264 i could not agree more. honestly the whole thing with shiro was so so bad. i really wish they kept adam alive and we could have had a reunion and see them get married, or if they did wasn’t to keep him dead, when shiro was visiting his grave or something in that one scene, instead i’d just saying “adam i’m sorry” they could’ve put like a compilation of flashbacks from their relationship. but i really did not see the point in killing him off, it would have been amazing for shiro to go back to someone he loved instead of going home to his lover being dead, especially with everything that we went through. also i think pidge being non-binary is such an amazing amazing amazing concept. that would have been so so nice. they could have had so much lgbtq+ representation but chose not to and that’s honestly terrible ahhhh i’m so mad. the potential this show had to being an absolute masterpiece is so irritating

He was nervously twiddling with the stem of a flower he'd picked on his way to the memorial, he seemed surprised, his brows knit close together: concerned, perhaps? hopefully not Keith misreading him judging instead.
Keith frantically wiped his face from tears and looked down; when it comes to the battlefield Keith was the most direct and to-the-point person there is: not much hiding, sneaking, lying, or avoiding actual combat; he likes the thrill of getting to fight, he faces threats head-on in close combat-- but here, where he has to deal with his own feelings, after avoiding and ignoring them for so long, he doesn't know what to do other than attempt to go back to safety: move on and act like nothing happened, hope to god they forget. But he knows Lance won't forget, and it's been long enough for fuck's sake! So he breathes in, clenches and unclenches his teeth, focuses intently at a spot on the ground, and waits for Lance to say something, before he has to talk about his emotions in-depth.
When Lance speaks, his voice is quieted down and serious, "Keith, I-- ...I had no idea. Wh- since when?" an awkward pause before Keith grits out uncomfortably "A few years now" _God, that's embarrassing, now he's gonna pity you_ his brain supplies, unhelpfully. Lance sighs, he seems really anxious now, he looks down at the ground as he does so, then up at the sky as he runs his empty hand through his hair, he seems distraught. Lance simply mutters "Mierda," and follows up with "so..." a small pause as he turns toward Keith and stares at him worriedly, Keith swears he could, in any other circumstance, stare into his eyes for hours on end-- but right now he'd really wish for Lance to stop staring through his soul please.
"So...?" Keith continues. "So," another sigh, Lance might need to get his breathing checked out, "what now?"
In all honesty, Keith had no idea. He wasn't planning on actually ever telling Lance about any of this. They'd have to figure this out together, and maybe Keith could finally get closure; but it would take time, and effort, and probably lots of mental breakdowns while binge-eating full tubs of icecream. So, Keith answered the only way he knew, "I don't know. Maybe we can figure it out?"

Lance nodded then stared at Keith when he said that. To be totally truthful he had alway really liked Keith. He just didn’t want to show it, he had no idea how his parents would respond. They were quite religious people and he was worried that they would hate him. So Lance instead tried befriending Keith in hopes that friendship would suffice for himself.
But that didn’t work Keith merely ignored and forgot about Lance. Therefore, Lancedecided with all his heart that he would beat Keith and become batter that’s him. To prove to himself that Keith wasn’t so great.
That backfired as well. Then Keith left. Lance was sad at first, like crying while listening to cringey lovesongs and wishing. Looooooottttsss of wishing.
Then they met again whilst helping Shiro. Then they flew to the castle. There he met someone who would be a good replacement for Keith. Allura.
They flew around the Galaxy helping people, almost dying. And most of all Lance swooning and flirting with Allura. He had no idea Keith all that time was hurting because of him.
Now Allura was gone. He new his parents were fine with Bi people. And he was morning the death of someone he loved. Though now he wasn’t sure if he ever really loved Allura, or if he just used her as a replacement for someone he actually loved?
Now he was able to understand that Allura hurt him more than someone he should have been with this whole time. And that person was Keith.
Strong, brave, stubborn, wonderful Keith.
Though it hurt him to know that Keith would be fine dead. So that way he could experience the love Lance stupidly gave away to Allura.
Allura should have never been anything more than a friend.Every time he snuggled with Allura that should have been Keith. Every tick spent teaching Allura about Earth in preparation for them coming back. Should have been spent getting to know Keith. Every time he kissed Allura that should have been Keith.
He so wanted to kiss Keith. In fact he should stop holding back. So he walked up to Keith and whispered “Can I kiss you?~” Lance couldn’t help the flirty way he said it.
Keith was frozen he couldn’t help but be the one to frozenly nod as Lance got closer. The kiss was amazing everything Lance had imagined and more. Keith was defiantly a better kisser than Allura. They held onto that kiss like there was not tomorrow.
And that’s how Lance wanted to spend his life. Not holding back. And acting like there was no tomorrow.

With Keith wanting to not have been mumbling it out, and would probably think they would not end up together.

I remember 2 years ago when Voltron was popular. that show meant so much to me, it’s kinda cringe to say but it really changed me.
The parallels held between Keith and Lance and Lance and Allura, it's almost heartbreaking to notice. There's so many details that went into building Klance (platonic or otherwise..) that when you do notice them, you can't help but feel like you were robbed of it as a satisfactory conclusion. Keith has details that show he takes a liking to Lance, how after the bonding moment he is more annoyed by Lance flirting with girls, especially Allura. When Keith left team Voltron to join the Blade of Marmora, his void was filled by Shiro and Allura, a leader and a better half for Lance. In conclusion we got Allurance, but it felt like he was Allura's rebound. Keith and Lance feel reduced to nothing more than acquaintances. Lance feels like all previous development meant nearly nothing, he was reduced to a love interest in the last season.
I'm rambling here, but this is really beautiful work. Thank you

No words can truly express how amazing this animatic is. You actually took the time to clearly sketch and line these drawings which most don't even bother to do, resulting in beautifully clean art, the likes of which i rarely see in these types of videos. And then you also drew beautiful backgrounds, which again, are rarely seen in animatic videos. And to think, that you also drew all those scenes that flashed past the screen for less than a second, all for the dramatic impact of the story; simply masterful i say.
I also deeply enjoyed how you drew the character expressions, as well as their body language. And the way you were able to weave together a narrative of a longing Keith, with an oblivious Lance who was too preoccupied with Allura to even consider Keith's feelings. Honestly, it was simply divine.
This animatic is truly one of the best i've seen in all of TH-cam. And to think, that only one, hyper-talented individual was able to create such a work of art seriously blows my mind. Though this video no doubt took you a long time to make, i say it was worth it, since this beauty was the end result. Keep up the good work. :)

Ever since I’ve heard this song this is exactly what I thought about. It just fits so well, and I’m glad to see I’m not the only one still thinking about them. Especially with how everyone on the internet likes to shit on them relentlessly. Not only that you also did an absolutely amazing job!! The lines were so clean, the parts that were animated , the way you included their moments, and I love that lance heard him in the end. Thank you for this you did an amazing job!

They did them all dirty... I liked Allura but I didn't really ship Allurance because she never really liked him and Lance was just pushing himself on her. I think I would've actually like MUCH more if they made them like each other sooner. This way it just felt forced. Poor Allura. They killed her off at the end.
Klance was better. It was gradually and they definitely teased it. Never will forget how they messed up not only the ships I mean the ending.
Too bad the 8th season never happened.

oh my god my heart is completely broken for Keith. It has been since season 8. I can never forget these poor boys.
Beautiful song, beautiful art, and god, I swear I can feel the emotion pouring out of every frame. Like that ending?? The bitterness and defeat and pure sorrow on Keith's face is palpable. And when their eyes meets? Literal chills down my spine every time I watch and rewatch and rerewatch this.
1st off, I love ur art! The way you draw Allura is so flowy, Keith's eyes manage to hold so much longing and pain in them, and Lance's hold the love he has for Allura and this is probably just me reading into things but the happiness when he's w/Keith.
2ndly, I do hope u make a follow up for this. But it's totally cool if u don't. I've loved all of ur content thus far!!! ❤💙
